That glove tip is gonna save me whenever I actually make my fanbot. Also the selfie one will definitely come in handy because I have a couple of possible photo shoots in the fall. Thank you Mango senpai.
You can also use elmers glue since it dries clear and its washable. So if you do mess up its easier to get out of the wig and reuse the same wig for a different cosplay
I always use that trick about the elastic! It makes putting it through the channels so much simpler! I will definitely be using the selfie idea at Colossalcon!
There are also tools for pulling elastic or cord through the casing, they're called bodkins, safety pins work just as well and are more accessible too. Also for PVC shoes to get scuffs off I use Magic Eraser sponges and they work well if you're worried the nail polish remover will damage the shoe...unfortunately for some shoes it can actually remove the protective coating to keep the shoes from getting more scuffed over time.. great job on the video! ^_^
Ahhh thanks for the tip on getting scuffs out of boots!! Found some perfect white boots for a FLCL cosplay but they had a few scuffs, never thought of using nail polish remover!
Interesting on the tack vs spiking glue. Oh, the nail polish remover to get rid of scuff marks is pure genius! Great tip your grandma gave you. I'll have to try that with about all of my shoes. The taking selfies will be new for me. I'm not big on selfies but you do bring a good point. Thanks Mango!
I love this series, I find it very helpful as I'm newer to cosplay. I'm wondering if you would do one on contacts and where to get them and how to take care of them? It would help me big time! :)
I loved this! Especially about the nail polish remover that's an awesome idea! I always feel bad for taking tons of selfies xD I'll get over it. Gotta get them crossplay angles. XD
That nail polish trick definitely works. My Sailor Moon boots got scuffed up a treat and the nail polish remover got the marks right off. You'd never even know it happened
I WISH I KNEW THIS GLOVE HACK TWO DAYS AGO seriously I just made some gloves out of spandex and they are a little on the tight side... haha ! Good to know for next time though, thanks Nina !
Could you do a 101 on prop building? Specifically the materials that can be used for different props? I saw the armor one, which was very informative, but need advice on what can be used for what. I've seen many different things about this, but you always seem to break it down in a way that I can easily comprehend and remember.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SHOE ONE! I'VE ORDERED A PAIR OF BRIGHT PINK GOGO BOOTS FOR MTT COSPLAY AND AFTER THE CON, THE BLACK SCRATCHES DIDN'T COME OFF! IT WAS HORRIBLE AND I WAS SO UPSET, BUT THANKS TO THIS VIDEO, THEY LOOK NEW N STUFF!
Could you use hair glue first and then when you're Happy with the results can you cover it in the more permanent glue? And love your pink hair so cool !
So awesome! The glove hack is very clever! :D The info about tacky glue vs Got2B was also very informational. and I love your hair! It's so pretty! 💖✨🌸 Where did you get your phone case? and could you recommend a good luggage size for Cosplayers? I was looking at a 18.5 one but I don't know if it would hold much :o
well it's going to depend. mainly on the cosplays themselves, how many cosplays they're are, and on how neatly you can pack things. also keep shoes in mind shoes. shoes can take up a lot of room. if i were you, i'd look at one maybe a little bigger, but not too much bigger. maybe a 20-22 inch
My phone case is designed by Marishop (www.redbubble.com/people/marishop/). She no longer offers this Eeveelutions design but her stuff is super cute! ;A;
+LadyAlizabith I usually pack 3-4 costumes, potentially a dress if there will be a formal dance, one set of normal clothes, undergarments, small toiletries, and that's it. I guess a 24" might be better. I have put my Cos-shoes in a shopping bag before.
i have a 24", though it's new and i haven't used it for cons yet, im thinking it might be a bit big for most of my cosplays, but this particular con, i'm taking a lot of things that take up a lot of room, like a petticoat and horns. i'm starting to get into more intricate cosplays so i'm pretty glad i got a 24". i think it might be better to have one that's a little too big than too small. but that's just me. :/
Arg! I'm always SO bad at remembering to take selfies while in cosplay. I find myself jumping straight into going around the con and meeting up with people that taking out my phone to take selfies is not even on the agenda. However, I have been getting used to standing in front of my mirror at random times and practicing poses and how to best position myself so I'm not just "winging it" 98% of the time. It's progress. Now to work in selfies... xD Also for the paper clip and elastic...my word I learned that the hard way recently. That was a hell of a night.
For the spiking tip, would it be good to style the wig using the hair product first, in case you mess up, and then go back with the tacky glue? Or would that cause a buildup on the wig?
A friend of mine was having a terrible time trying to make a pair of gloves. She eventually gave up, but I'm definitely passing on that tip for the next time she wants to make gloves!
Love your vids, you are a great presenter, clear and informative while remaining upbeat and pleasant. I enjoy watching them greatly even though I'm not into Cosplay, only mildly into anime and old enough to be your...um...uncle, yeah uncle that works.....go figure :) love your hair.
Haha, well thank you very much! :D I'm glad they're enjoyable vids for people outside the hobby, too! (And hey, you never know, maybe a young relative will get into cosplay somewhere down the road and you'll be the cool uncle who knows everything about it! :P)
For the cleaning shoe hack: If you do not have any nail polish remover, try using hand sanitize. BE WARNED THOUGH!!!! DO NOT use too much because the alcohol might take some of the color out of the shoes or it could stain. You just need a little.
Hello Mango thanks for all theses videos on cosplay it helped alot! i went to my first Anime con ever i cosplayed Kaneki Ken and genderbent Hatsune Miku. my cosplay would not turn out good if it were for all the tips you gave. Thanks!!!
I know it may sound stupid...but the best advice for that is to not start costumes that are way above of what your abilities let you archieve. Costumes that text your limits are not good for con crunch.
SomeSeal I started this one in February then had to work on surprise school projects.. School hates me. I might get the cosplay done. Depends on how busy I am
OH YES GLOVES! I desperately needed this. Madoka Magica cosplays are painful.
Being Meguca is suffering
Nothing is better than watching this a day before Fanime Con :)
My friend is going to fanime on Saturday ^^ sadly I live far away so I can't make it
Your hair makes me want strawberry cheesecake.

IKE IKE IKE, YOU CAN DO IT~!

Pleaaaase make more of these! They've helped me SO much!

my first con was last year this year it will be my second
It'd be really cool if you could make a cosplay 101 about cosplay shoes, and different techniques you could use! :)
I love these cosplay 101 videos, they are always so helpful!
The glove hack is yet another wonderful tip I have learned from you - thanks!!!
Thank you so much for these tips and tricks! The selfie one is going to help so much!
I love this series, I find it very helpful as I'm newer to cosplay. I'm wondering if you would do one on contacts and where to get them and how to take care of them? It would help me big time! :)

Love the idea about the selfies!
love your new haircut XD and the last two tips were very helpful!!! Thank you ^w^
Those tips were pretty useful and I honestly didn't know about them.
Also, I love your shirt.
That wig is so cool and cute! Great video too
It's not a wig! :) And thanks~
Oh that's even better! I love it!
I'm watching all these videos like, 5 months before my next convention. It's getting me motivated to stay away from concrunch
These are very helpful! And I love your hair it looks awesome! :D
OMG I WAS WAITING FOR #2 FOR SO LONGGGG
That nail polish trick definitely works. My Sailor Moon boots got scuffed up a treat and the nail polish remover got the marks right off. You'd never even know it happened
Ahhh, I'm so glad to hear that it worked for you!! :DD
Your hair is gorgeous, Mango!
I WISH I KNEW THIS GLOVE HACK TWO DAYS AGO seriously I just made some gloves out of spandex and they are a little on the tight side... haha ! Good to know for next time though, thanks Nina !

Your new hair looks INCREDIBLE btw. Sugoi~

YASS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR ANOTHER ONE OF THESE
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SHOE ONE!
Thanks for that glove thing! That's so helpful.
Your hair looks awesome omg 😮
Diggin' the hair! I've also been wondering how you picked your name/how cosplayers in general can come up with an alias. Any tips?
Great tips! I definitely could use the tacky glue trick, AND the last minute gloves (since I'm a queen of procrastination...) Thanks for this video!
Could you use hair glue first and then when you're Happy with the results can you cover it in the more permanent glue? And love your pink hair so cool !
Great tips n tricks
Thank You.
your new hair reminds me of lightning from final fantasy XIII, it's so cool!
So awesome! The glove hack is very clever! :D The info about tacky glue vs Got2B was also very informational.
and I love your hair! It's so pretty! 💖✨🌸

+LadyAlizabith I agree, it's always better to have extra space if you need it. Thanks for your help :)
Helpful as always! ^_^
I was wondering if you could tell me what wig styling tutorial you showed at 0:24 (the bottom one/black wig) Thanks!
It's from my Haru wig work log, which was a bonus video for Patreon a few months ago. :3
I love your hair! Its soooo pritty.
I love your hair so so much ❤️
Can you make a video tutorial about fabric painting and fading?
I love your makeup and hair... so cute :)
Helpful as always! :)
I really like the editing you did in this video!~ Noice!
Your hair is awesome.
If you haven't already, I would love if you could do a tutorial video on boot covers.
+WildFire thanks for linking me to that! It was really helpful. :)

*Dies of fabulous attack*
For the spiking tip, would it be good to style the wig using the hair product first, in case you mess up, and then go back with the tacky glue? Or would that cause a buildup on the wig?
That's what I was wondering... I just bought a thing of spiking glue for a wig so I hope there is some use for it.
A friend of mine was having a terrible time trying to make a pair of gloves. She eventually gave up, but I'm definitely passing on that tip for the next time she wants to make gloves!
I live for your videos😍
I would be so lost without your help XD. Your tips are amazing!

The shoe one might save my shoe, Thank you ♡
Lol I couldn't help but notice your Free! figmas and they're adorable omg ^^
Welp. That explains why my spiked wig (which hasn't been touched in a year) magically de-spiked itself in storage!
OMG I need a black glove for under Edward Elric's automail, This looks to be a really good cheat method >:)
love you 😍
spiderman cosplay tips?
Does anyone know if Mango has a cosplay amino?
What if you're in con crunch, can't sew and need to finish 3/4 of a complicated costume?
colossalcon?
Use a different one of your cosplays. Or you can look at her "Cosplay 101:Con crunch" video
I know it may sound stupid...but the best advice for that is to not start costumes that are way above of what your abilities let you archieve. Costumes that text your limits are not good for con crunch.

About the selfies. I don't have a front facing camera. :(
♥
Girl your hair.

Number 2 is just a plain sewing tip that even non-cosplayer seamstresses use.
