    Measurements, Its not fair..
You pointing to the ram chip ..
But with heatsink.. the lower temperature is not the temperature of the ram chip.. its only the temperature of "heatsink"

Why is this video longer than 30 seconds?

So basically, heat spreaders reduce temps by 3-7 Celcius?

@@chuck_norris well take the heat dissapation from every inch of that aluminum spreader then concentrate it in the tiny ram chips themselves which are not made of metal. then you realize how much work the spreader is actually doing. ...hopefully?!

@Drusby no. that was how much heat it was disapating at that point at that point in time. read my reply to @Just Kidding .
also if you want to overclock it and lower the latency for better performance then you're gonna have to have a heat spreader. some people go as far as liquid cooling their dimms to get the maximum memory bandwidth possible for the ultimate in pc performance. lets say you have the baddest processor on the market and OC'd the hell out of it, well it can only process as much data as you feed it. if the ram's too slow it'll just stall out and sit idle for a few (thousand?) cycles until it can access the data it needs. so depending on what you're doing w/ your system it may make a negligible to a significantly noticeable boost in performance to have faster ram.
and to have faster ram you need to be able to keep those chips as cool as you can.

    Good airflow, Bad indeed heatsink
