I have an amazon kindle and I was really shocked to how good it was compared to the first 2 tablets.
All these tablets have screen!!!...I think my hope in humanity has been restored...
720p for $42 is actually good and it has android kitkat, most applications only need android jelly bean, sooo I think that's a relly good deal, mybe it's not really fast but it's okay for lil' kids or something.
BUT: The last one is the best for someone who want to play lighter games or something, and the screen is good , photo's too. Soooo I think that one is the best.

I got a tablet from Amazon looks exactly like the $42 and paid £19.99 about $26 and although it worked fine after a month or so and a few apps applied it soon came to a halt and has never worked well even after a reset. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

BTW you CAN get Google Play on a Kindle Fire. There is some software for a PC that installs it. I can confirm that it works.
The kindle fire 8 feels so much nicer than the 6 or the 7. They feel very cheap compared to the 8 which goes for around $80 I think.

Your best bet is to buy a used Nexus 7 2013 16gb on ebay. It still kicks ass, even if it's really showing it's age, its way better than these for the same price. You get that gorgeous high res screen. The damn thing was probably subsidized by Google as a loss leader. If I remember correctly, benchmark score around 32K, or twice these..
