I really tried to embrace monday start because logically it makes sense to me (and so many people love it), but I *always* mess up my planner because my brain CANNOT get the concept of starting the week on monday. I thought I would get used to it eventually but I guess it’s too deeply ingrained in me. 😩 I literally was just thinking how I need to switch out my monthly calendar for a sunday start asap. (in the USA, obvi. 🇺🇸)
Funny you should mention wanting to find a fellow stationery & planner in the wild… a couple weeks ago, one of the ladies at my small town bank was using a hobonichi cousin with one of YOUR kits in it!!
Not a train wreck! I love seeing you problem solve on the spot. And mistakes make us human. I cannot count how often I make a mistake in my planner or journal. I hate it; sometimes I try to fix it. Don't be too hard on yourself, girl. You're amazing!
that’s so funny i’m the opposite when it comes to setting up, if i don’t do the kits every month i wouldn’t have motivation to use the monthly’s! i look forward to it every month whereas if i did it all at once i probably would never go back and use it lol, loved the vid helen!
Helen, was not a train wreck!!! Perfect is the lil imperfections. We will never measure up otherwise to the hobonichi planner princess!! 👸🏻 I have to share that I used the Avec for business and Cousin for personal. And I do like the cousin better -especially for personal-like what you said just having everything in one place (and there is the perk of not doing a set up twice !) I also have found doing set of my monthlies and weeklies ahead of time -so helpful. I did a lot of weekly set ups until December while playing cards with my dad (he takes a while to decide his moves and it is a super long game-Cannista -sp?) so so helpful to have set up because then I am more likely to write in even ahead of time. Like to put in an appointment 📅 -i actually tact the extra matching bits inside the weeklies, for when that week arrives. This year I have way too many hobos -but i think I will know which ones to keep in my line up next year! I bought them all from Yoseka Stationery!!! Daisy is so so nice. I really wish my daughter and I could go to the Stationery Fest !!!! We talked about it. Also, for me, as I have ADHD, planning really makes such a difference -and- tracking any of my behaviors helps me with my emotional health as I can see progress with even small steps. It is so helpful that you are so real to share when you make a mistake because I probably can guess others would agree it makes us feel like we don’t have to be perfect -we can aim for perfection but say it’s okay -“I’m fine with that!” Helen your videos are perfect because you air your errors. this is so late but I tried a hobonichi this year and I loved using your monthly kits! They are so cute but the one thing that bothers me is how the top row of the monthly section is so thick compared to the rest of the page because of the day name stickers haha! I am not using a cousin next year because I think the one page per day didn't really work for me, personally, but I really love all your spreads and sticker sets! thanks so much for your hard work as always :)

But I add a lot of stickers and ephemera to my planner. My Jan-Dec book is very chunky. Another six months would be too much. 😅 I love your fold over pocket. I might try a one page vellum pocket some how. (Or not lol) I do have lots of vellum to play with! I went a bit overboard with the Twinkle, Twinkle. I’ve been wanting my own hobonichi cousin for so long and I’m seriously considering getting one for next year as I’m starting college, but I’d have to spend anywhere from R800 upwards and I just can’t afford it unless I save for multiple months. I also really want to support tcmc, but it would add to more of the costs. I work based on shifts and get paid very little so it’s hard to tell what I want to buy when I have so much to buy and so little money lol

Thank you. this is the first time i'm seeing the sticker seals and i'm off to add it to my cart. For the monthly spread, i add the bullet journal numbers to paste over the days. For July, the "monday / tuesday etc" headers color coordinates with the days but the rest of the months arent in alignment. It is possible to have color coordinated for 2025? sorry.. abit ocd here.....For example, in august, "SAT" in green but the numbers 3/10/17/24/31" is in poppy red.

I am kinda confused on which I wanna try for 2025.. I like the minimalistic of Sterling Ink but I feel like all the random words that Hobonichi has motivates me to write daily and make me feel less pressured.. But at the same time, some days I barely write anything, so I just wanted to know your opinion on it
Hi! I think the SI are beautiful planners! Personally, I have found my happy home in the Hobonichi and I have no intentions of switching. The best way I can explain it is that I need a bit of structure to keep me consistent. The bullet journal did not work for me because it was **too much** flexibility. The Hobonichi has the layout structure there for me, but it's minimal enough for me to do whatever I want with it. As for the SI planners, it is again a bit too minimal for me. I'd rather have half empty daily pages, because it just tells future-me that I was busy on that day. I'm of course super biased so this is just my opinion and what works for me!
