Maybe I will add a governor later, but for now it's still lots of fun. I picked it up used and the price was super so I'm not complaining at all right now. Thanks again for the support.
Gerald Evans It takes nitro fuel and you can get it online or at a hobby store. You will want a fuel mix with at least 18% oil. I'm running 20% nitro mix with 18% oil. You can get a quart or a gallon.
I know it’s an old post but just picked up one of these helis this weekend. Hasn’t been flown in at least a year but it’s in excellent shape and the engine isn’t frozen. My goal is to be ready for it next spring! Nice flying!
Great videos...subscribed. I wish all helicopter videos were like this, I would rather just hear the helicopter fly rather than crappy music or useless commentary.
The field that I fly in has more space to the left so I do more left turns, sorry if I didn't do more right turns for you. It feels more comfortable to me this way, but what the hay! I'll do more right hand turns next time. Sound good to you? Thanks for watching.
Nice video that heli is huge n fast plus you fly everything excellent with total control I enjoy all your videos keep up the great work and having fun while doing it
Very nice flying! I like how it was more sport flying not real aggressive 3D ! Its fun to be able to actually tell what you are actually flying! Very good pilot!
Awesome video and smooth flight! I like when there's no background music or fancy video effects because that doesn't happen when flying for fun...the sound of the Heli is the only music I need to enjoy a video.
Sir, Thank you for your great video, keep it going, hope to continue watching your video, planning to get one like yours. Now, can you send me videos how to PREP the helicopter before flying it? thanks. Andy
Thanks Bob, I've been practicing a lot since the last time we flew together and it has been paying off. I'm looking forward to getting together with you at Dave's soon.
Hey Eric! Very nice flying. Aileron turns, flips, rolls, inverted hover, you hit all the high points. Nicely done bud. I am starting to think you could fly the kitchen sink! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Eric, question....I have the mCPX V2 and have no problems flying it. Other than 3D you could say I've out grown it. Horizon said I should be able to handle the blade 450 standard with no problem. What's your opinion? They said there is the intimidation factor with the 450. But I've been there done that many times with airplanes. Thanks! Rick
I would continue to practice with the mcpx until you get comfortable flying in CP mode continuously. It is a great trainer and that is what my skills improve so much since last year. The 450 3D would be a good next heli for you. Start out on the easier setup and you will love it.
Nice flying. I'm an electric heli pilot with a Trex 500 and Fusion 50. Not trying to hate on the Raptor, but the headspeed really bogs down on the flips. Good up the good work on the videos!
I was just pokin' fun at ya. I'm the king of lefty turns lol. I taught myself to fly fixed wing (never really got into helis) and I ended up becoming really left handed. I make it a point every time I fly to practice those right handers, but no matter what, I feel more comforatable to the left. I recently taught a buddy to fly, and I beat it into his head to practice both directions so he wouldn't end up like me!
Hello Joe, I am new to the hobby. For some reason my raptor's starter shaft only spins freely clockwise. I cant start it by spinning the shaft counterclockwise. Any tips? Thank you!
Nice video. You might want to consider fitting a Zimmerman muffler - my friend went from the stock one to the Zimmerman offering and the noise was literally halved.
Thanks for watching. Actually I bought this heli used so I don't think I will be reviewing it and besides that I am having too much fun with it right now. :)
Waohh !! Didn't know that one can do these figures with a Raptor 30 !!! Congratulations for your pilot skills !!! The sound of the engine hears quite high, that is a sign of a smaller than 50's serie. By the way, which engine do you have on your helicopter ? Thunder Tiger ? OS ? Thanks a lot budy for this short but interesting video! And Merry Christmas 2022 from France!
Nice Eric. Good to see a noisy old nitro motoring around. I love the electrics and the ease of getting flying, but my Trex 600 Nitro Super Pro flies like a dream and is a riot. Gotta' love the smell of nitro in the morning. Thanks for posting. Maybe you'll start bringing out some other older models? :D
Nice flying Eric. I much prefer my electric 600 size heli. That glow engine sound plus the oily exhaust just dies nothing for me. Anyway, thanks for showing us your heli flying style.
Manny is a better heli pilot and knows more about setups and builds so I let him check out the 450 3D for me last year and made a video while he did it. If you look through my vids I made a 450 3D flight not long after that.
my local hs has one of these Not sure if the guy was joking with me but he said give me 50 bucks and its yours. I looked at it today but he wasnt there his wife was. when i removed the canopy everything looked good except i didnt see a reciever. is this a 3d heli ? and what kind of reciever would i need to fly it with a dx6. it also had a wee tiny gyro of some kind on it
Maybe I will add a governor later, but for now it's still lots of fun. I picked it up used and the price was super so I'm not complaining at all right now. Thanks again for the support.
I Love the Smell of Nitro in the Morning.
Great Job.
Thanks Jacob. I really appreciate comments like yours. It makes it all worth while. Keep on flying!
My dad and I are getting into the hobby and we have the same heli! It's becoming a good bonding experience.
Thanks George, I've been having quite a bit of fun with this heli lately and happy this flight turned out so well.
I am branching out and need some new challenges and these heli's are fitting the bill perfectly. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, I bought this used Raptor a while ago and have been total fun with it.
My Raptor has been in storage for 2 years. After watching this I cant wait to get her out cleaned up and in the air!!
Can you please tell me what sort of fuel it takes thank you
Gerald Evans
It takes nitro fuel and you can get it online or at a hobby store. You will want a fuel mix with at least 18% oil.
I'm running 20% nitro mix with 18% oil. You can get a quart or a gallon.
Thanks, I picked up this one used last year for a great price and having a blast with it now.
I have a couple more that no one has seen and hope to get them flying this summer so stay tuned and thanks for the comment.
I have a couple more you haven't seen and hopefully I will bring them out this summer. Thanks for watching and the comment.
I know it’s an old post but just picked up one of these helis this weekend. Hasn’t been flown in at least a year but it’s in excellent shape and the engine isn’t frozen. My goal is to be ready for it next spring! Nice flying!
I owned Raptor 30 before upgraded to Raptor 50SE. Used to flew it with OS Max 37H engine, Futaba 401 gyro and Futaba 6HX radio system. it's flew nice!
Thanks, the inverted hover turned out great.
thats how you do it good old school flying in a vintage v1 ,shows you can have fun for little thanks
Great videos...subscribed.
I wish all helicopter videos were like this, I would rather just hear the helicopter fly rather than crappy music or useless commentary.
Ah! Good old Rapy! I miss mine .50! Best heli ever!
The motor installed is more for mild sport aerobatics so that's why I didn't push it so much, but still it's a great flying heli.
The field that I fly in has more space to the left so I do more left turns, sorry if I didn't do more right turns for you. It feels more comfortable to me this way, but what the hay! I'll do more right hand turns next time. Sound good to you? Thanks for watching.
Nice video that heli is huge n fast plus you fly everything excellent with total control I enjoy all your videos keep up the great work and having fun while doing it
Thanks, It is a very smooth flying heli for sure.
Very nice flying! I like how it was more sport flying not real aggressive 3D ! Its fun to be able to actually tell what you are actually flying! Very good pilot!
That's more like it Eric! Glad to see you don't mind getting your hands dirty now and then - more nitro powered models please : )
hi thanks for reply i brought an old rappy 90 se crashed ,and rebuilt and having so much fun , no hi tecs just simple flying this it good stuff
Nice flight. Looks so docile. Looks like a good beginner heli , if its cheap to crash.
I like the way i never see you fly our of your comfort zone or skill.....good job
I have the same exact heli thanks for uploading. I'm new to the hobby, do you know what glow plug size this uses? Thanks.
I'm trying to keep up with this guy called Tom out west. He has done it all. :)
I've had this heli for a while now and finally decided to make a quick vid of it. Thanks for the comment and watching.
Great job Eric. Great video.
Awesome video and smooth flight! I like when there's no background music or fancy video effects because that doesn't happen when flying for fun...the sound of the Heli is the only music I need to enjoy a video.

Thanks, I plan on doing some more of these fun fly vids to break it up a little. Thanks for watching and the great comment.

Awesome flight!
Sweet. Nice job.
good flying mate , well done
Thanks, I had a good flight that day.

have a good day! you do a good job!!
Looks like normal wooden blades right? Does it matter what type of blades youhave, and what would be best?🙂🇳🇱
i was thing of getting a 30. now i am because of this video
Hello Joe, I am new to the hobby. For some reason my raptor's starter shaft only spins freely clockwise. I cant start it by spinning the shaft counterclockwise. Any tips? Thank you!
Thanks for watching and the support. I am glad you like the videos.
Nice video. You might want to consider fitting a Zimmerman muffler - my friend went from the stock one to the Zimmerman offering and the noise was literally halved.
Great Video! Love the Heli.
Awesome 👍👍
The bigger they are the easier they are to fly. I can now say that with some genuine experience behind it.
very nice flying.. Are you planning to do review on this heli next time?
Again, great video to watch as always!
Thanks for watching. Actually I bought this heli used so I don't think I will be reviewing it and besides that I am having too much fun with it right now. :)
Good stuff Eric! Great flying and sweet heli! I've never flown a heli larger than a 450 trex. Tempting to go larger.
Thanks for watching and the comment.
Thanks Mike, I appreciate it!

Thanks! I appreciate it.
You're really good
Nice flying Eric. I much prefer my electric 600 size heli. That glow engine sound plus the oily exhaust just dies nothing for me. Anyway, thanks for showing us your heli flying style.
Oily is good for lubrication for all helicopter parts lol i love the smell of nitro. :)
Nice flyin Eric, getting really good.:)
Very Nice!
Thanks!
nice video!
Sounds loud, but cool! Thanks for watching.
Manny is a better heli pilot and knows more about setups and builds so I let him check out the 450 3D for me last year and made a video while he did it. If you look through my vids I made a 450 3D flight not long after that.
Thanks Ian, now I know you really want to fly a heli again after seeing this vid don't you?
Nice flight...with sound muted ! LOL
are you in idle up or normal mode if norman wqat curves are you using thanks
Hi what do I set the needel at from closed is it 2 and half turns out or what is it
Hi could u tell me what the settings on the carb should be on both needels fuel and air please
It's kinda hard to break old habits, but I am trying. lol...
No govenor and using cool power 30% nitro fuel. Thanks for the info Jacob.
my local hs has one of these Not sure if the guy was joking with me but he said give me 50 bucks and its yours. Nice flying! Good solid turns. I am curious why you would loose head speed when you did the loops, though? Thumbs up all the way!!!
What do u have the needel set at on the raptor 30 v2
Excelente vuelo hermano
great flying! and i thought you only flew planes :D
i just bought my first eletric heli today :)
It looks a little pitchy in fff. Take your time with paddle and blade alignment and it will track like a bullet.
seems like really high headspeed
Hi. I have a raptor 30 helicopter.

Thank you very much.
