The '09 Patriots were one of the most disappointing teams of the Belichick/Brady era. They never recovered from the "4th and 2" game at the 8-0 Colts where they lost 35-34 after being up 17 in the 4th. By starting 6-2 and winning a few shoddy games like this one over bad teams in the last few weeks, the Pats ended up taking the AFC East, but that was it.
@@TheAireaidLord Now they've made the transition into the league's middle class. Mac Jones' ceiling is uncertain at best and the days of free agents signing here to win big are long over. They can't win the division over Buffalo so for the near future it's a wild card or nothing.
@@threerings1345 every year is different. You can always count on the Patriots being competitive so I'm not declaring anything as a given. I will say that their division has become incredibly challenging
This team stunk in 2009. They could have been alot worse tbh. They barely beat the ravens in the regular season, They barely escaped buffalo in week 1. This team could have very well went 8-8 and missed the playoffs. Just speaks to the greatness of tom brady, who didn’t have a great year himself and was very rusty coming back from his knee surgery, other then the titans game, none of bradys performances stick out in 09.
Lickmyballs87 I agree 💯 percent. However vice versa. They should have won the colts 4th and 2 game, and should have won in Miami when they lost 22-21.. could of been 12-4
No, this team actually underachieved. Most of their wins were comfortable and almost all of their losses were blown games on the road in the fourth quarter. Their expected W/L was actually nearly a full win higher than the team that just won the Super Bowl last year, and even higher than the 2011 and 2014 teams. I guess you could say a few of the blowouts like Tennessee skew that, but I think this team easily could have won 13 or so games.
Its important to note the 09-10 Patriots were rebuilding. They never won SB without their defense being solid. But in these seasons, the secondary is full of waiver wire pickup special teamers. That's not how you win games in modern NFL. ON offense they were evolving with the Gronk/Hernandez duo manipulating D Personnel calls, if Base 7 man boxes, pass pass pass, if in Nickel, run it all day Gronk can block a Def end and Hernandez could at least take out safeties and nickelbacks.
I would add 2011 as that wasnt a great team, they had a creampuff schedule with 13 games with opponents at 8-8 or worse records to beat. Just look at Profootball reference, note they lost to every 9 win team or better, their ONE good win was in the playoffs, but they even got to face the 8-8 Tebows Divisional round.
OH DHAA LETS GIVE THE PATS ALL THE CALLS THEY SHOULD OF MADE BUT FEEL JUST A LITTLE SHORT I MEAN THEY SURE DO NEED ALL OUR HELP THEIR SUCH A DESERVING TEAM THIS IS WHY I STOPPED WATCHING THE GAME

It was also Brady's first season back since his ACL injury in 2008.
@@TheAireaidLord I hope a lot of teams are different this year because somehow NE has toughest schedule in the league based on '22 records.

This patriots team caught a few unlucky breaks, despite getting that lucky fumble against the Bills week one.
They was better the year before without Brady
Bart Simpson is the hero we all need right now, but not the one we deserve.
18:14 Welker definitely hurt a knee there. Noticeably limped back to the huddle. Not surprised he tore his knee up later that season, he was banged up

You're the best, bro!
Hopefully you can upload the Giants-Tampa Bay playoff game.

Finally the Patriots got the win over the Panthers today ever since this game! It's been 12 years!
Thanks for the upload. I love how the NFL blocks every Panthers win uploaded to UA-cam but keeps the losses
Welker deserved much better treatment
A references of super bowl XXXVIII

Jets at patriots 09 please!!
THATS FELL SO SORRY CHOP CHOP
I really didn't like the 09 team.
It was probably the weakest team in the Brady-Belichick era
dpistons149 Do you realize how many teams would love a winning season? What is wrong with a 10-6 season?
Nothing is wrong with it at all. Just saying that the 09 team is one of the weaker teams in the Brady-Belichick era
CoDWiiPS3Gameplay The 2002, 2005 and 2009 Teams Are the weakest ones out of the entire Belichick Era In My opinion.
Add the 2018 team to that list
