Melina Abdullah, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Los Angeles, was arrested with probable cause at a Los Angeles Police Commission meeting in 2018, a federal jury found Thursday after a two-day trial, siding with the city in her lawsuit alleging wrongful arrest.
Abdullah, a Cal State L.A. professor and fixture at Police Commission meetings, was arrested on suspicion of battery against a police officer after an officer said she grabbed his arm, but the charges were dropped by the Los Angeles city attorney’s office. She sued the city and former LAPD Chief Charlie Beck in 2020, about six months after the charges were dropped.
The jury deliberated for less than two hours before returning its verdict that Abdullah was not wrongfully arrested by then-LAPD Det. Jason Curtis.

God bless you young man! I’m an old and in the 70s I never heard of any racism. We never look at each other that way. Our football team was a family. Entire weekends together. @@MrTron81 this what I've been talking about, having watched many of Mr. Peterson's podcasts most if not all of interviewees that are "men" tend to be these crybaby sensitive types who get but hurt and want to pobligate the man's life. No matter his approach the topics he brings up ring true. Father absences and the lack of moral character are directly responsible for the culture and degredation of the values you see in Black communities. His Fallen State message is, in my opinion, spot on to what his message is. So let me extend an olive branch, yes he sometimes goes a little rough on some of his guests, however you have to admit he's had more than just a couple of knuckle heads in the studio and on his phone in line over the years.
