      I feel like not many people are lucky enough to be able to make a living and life out of this the way Bob has. There's lots out there, but usually on a much much smaller scale.

    How cool is that '34.....l'm glad your restoring it, l think you are spot on in wanting to return it to the condition it was in, in '59...for the exact reason you said you were gonna do it for.
    I love what you do Bob. Thanks brother!

    You mentioned L.A. Roadster founder Tex Smith, I have a Car Craft Magazine dated June 1967. There is an article that states back in November 1966, Car Craft Associate Editor and rod builder extraordinaire, Dick Scritchfield asked in his Point of View column for a show of interest by CC fans in a Street Roadster building series. His response was even greater than they'd hope for, they got suggestions for projects from all over the world. The "Peoples Choice" was building a T bucket. Street Rod Project Part One by Dick Scritchfield (wish I had the rest of the series) stated "Helping out with the construction and giving us additional ideals will be members of the Los Angeles Roaster Club, whose vast experience has given them the reputation of being one of the outstanding roaster club in the nation. " "All told, about about 100 members have passed through the rank of Roadsters during their nine years of existence." As noted above this statement was in CC magazine dated June 1967 with pictures of three L.A. Roaster Members with their jackets on building a T bucket frame. On page 20 of this magazine show a picture of a car show, but bottom of the page is gone, but on page 21 the article mentions the L.A. Roadsters. As of today April 20, 2021this is all I know about the L.A. Roadster Club.
    I just thought I would share this info.

    I'm from wadena MN . there used to be a bablers machine shop in perham MN . I bet this is a relative or his son. They did the best and cheapest machine work around. I had a 400 crank that was wrecked get cleaned up by him that never gave me a problem. Wide open for years

    Wow, what a fantastic find with the ‘34 & so much history. It’s definitely worthy of a full restoration. Nice job on the Lemon Drop roadster, although I have to say that frozen lake was too darn cold looking for me. My ‘32 is still hibernating in the garage over here in the U.K., sun’s out but not warm enough for my old bones 🦴 !!

    That's one way to keep a flathead from overheating ha drive it on a frozen lake bed . Love it bro I like what you do and just my two cents the "patina Job" is not worthy of that car but I appreciate the fact you tried awesome stuff and thanks for sharing.

    I grew up in mound mn and would always hang out behind a muffler shop that was owned by a babler. From what I know he started porter muffler and made them in that mound shop for many years. Are the guys connected to your 34 hotrod?

    • @MADFABRICATORSTV
      @MADFABRICATORSTV  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah I believe they were.. Bob did mention that they owned porter muffler for a bit.. and I believe his son might currently own it as well.

    The fake patina car looks EXACTLY like a FAKE patina car. Not even close to pulling it off.

  • @ClimptonDiddlehopper
    @ClimptonDiddlehopper 3 роки тому +3

    No, Lemon Drop looks l I'll ke a fake ass patina job. Should have just done an old paint job in a semi gloss and let it be. I'd respect that much more than a try hard to fake it.
