Unfortunately for them, Native Americans didn't have the power, solidarity or foresight to defend their lands and so America ceased to be theirs long ago. I'm hoping whites won't make the same mistake, although we're waist-deep already.

Alex Wilson bunch of logical thinking people in the comments, unlike you. Just because people don't want to let in 100,000's of immigrants into their country doesn't make them Hitler. Furthermore letting in a large amount of people relatively unchecked can cause economic, safety and culture issues. Because if you think about it these people spend way more time gathering information than we did, they must have seen all we saw and much more. So I hope these videos won't change and keep coming, so hopefully in the future the comment section does change.

Assimilation is what will work. Not multiculturalism. MC is divisive, we are all humans. Let us not focus on what separates us, let us work with what is good and discard what is not, like religion for example.
Tripp393 LOL how do Hillary fans feel about her wanting to go to war with Russia, china and Syria, as well as MOST of her motives being due to the sponsors of her campaign? Oh! What about the leaked emails! Or the flip flopping on her ideologies. LOL
NotQuiteTheo Except Trump has lied way more than Hill already and he hasn't even held office. Trump is currently polled as the most disliked candidate in history.
Sorry but immigrants are needed in Canada and USA You population is aging and the only way to replace workforce is through immigration. May be its hard for your to understand but that's what educated economists and anyone with brain would suggest. I was Somali refuge came to Canada when I was 15 yo I didn't speak English. We took social assistant for the 1st 7 years in Canada. Now 16 years later I'm full time nurse in rural area in northern Canada. I been nurse for 6 years. Coming to Canada changed my life forever. In same token Canada benefited from me because I provide much needed service in isolated area, and I generate income tax It's win win situation; I know it's hard to understand but you have to get over your racist remarks I was one in 6 siblings that came to Canada now we are all working and helping the Canadian economy!!!
Its really crazy. Most of the refugees like yourself I know, did really good for themselves. I am born and brought up here in Canada. A lot of the hate is just out of jealously and misunderstanding. They fail to recognize that immigration has been in the whole history of all North America. Its 2016 and yet you a nurse and myself a doctor doesn't help people here. There is hate and its just disgusting. I live in a rural area too and reality is 10% of highschool kids make it out there. The rest don't...that is the beauty of Canada eh?...Its really sad...I am glad at least the new generation of children are a lot more open minded...the old people need to go with the set ways.
We have all bought into what these "educated economists" have planned and to continue their system it is required to import people to gain new debt. That's why we need to fix the system rather than keep fueling it.
Not everyone is corporate sellout, the economy isn't important enough to sacrifice your voice in democracy. Immigrants have overwhelmingly voted to change the cultures and policies of their host nations. Immigration drowns out the voices of native citizens in a perversion of democracy.
Sunethra K The Electoral College is biased against Republicans because illegal immigrants (who can’t vote but are counted in the U.S. Census, thus influencing how many electoral votes each state gets) live mostly in blue states, and that this fact significantly reduces the chances of the GOP winning the presidency. Diversity makes populations weaker and more isolated. It damages the social fabric. See Robert Putnam. It is a net negative. immigration also damages the education of a nation. Schools are struggling to teach in two different languages and that is damaging test scores and doubling school budgets. Immigration also skews the job market. Instead of investing in their employees or the education system, businesses just import workers from oversees and drive down wages.
FortuitusVideo Most immigrants coming in and I am not talking about Mexicans as you seem to be referring to that illegal crap are well educated and come with skills. Immigration is not an easy process like you think it is. Also, our schools teach in English. If we were to immigrate to another country they would also have to take us in and educate us in their things. Your really talking to no logic or education. United States offers some of the world's smartest people and a lot are not naturalized Americans. Heck this Donald Trump himself is based from immigration in his family's history. You talk with no logic at all sorry to say. You speak of only the negative things and about labourers and illegal immigrants. There is more to that....
A guy from the "pale male stale leadership" gave her the Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs gig. Made it up out of thin air and said here ya go. Guess that's not good enough.
If anyone is going to throw the racism card, it's OK if you are an immigrant. This was just plain offensive...

Wanted to make a comment. But found all my thoughts in the comments section. Btw, these are the people (Sayu Bhojwani) who should be silenced. They are making a world a worse place and not taking a day off.
While I probably agree with you, I don't like the idea of "these are the people (Sayu Bhojwani) who should be silenced". IMO no one should be silenced. The problem is, the counter point to hers, is not being heard or spoken about, but rather silenced as racist and bigoted speech, you know "hate speech".
Why does every western countries need to be multicultural and divers? I seriously don't get why this is something pushed on the west and not other countries.
Simon Suh But that is for a practical reason right? Not because they should be multicultural for some reason. Also don't forget about about Europe. The west isn't only the US.
Immigration is like being in a relationship. A model immigrants shouldn't abandon roots, but at the same time, have to bring something to the new community. You can't force natives to cater to who you are, it is a pet peeve I see among other immigrants. Not only it's not going to work, but such act sends a wrong message, the one of nonacceptance, when tables are turned and other ethnicity is migrating into your own community. When you're improving your neighborhood, you'll be welcomed no matter what your origin is. Ergo, it makes your own life easier in the end as well as those of your same origin. Nobody dislikes a German-Americans, for example: they have worked hard to raise America alongside everyone else. We as immigrants should understand what America is about, and do our best to blend in.
_A culture that gave the world the spiritual creations of the Classical Music of Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner and Schubert, the paintings of Michelangelo, and Raphael, Da Vinci and Rembrandt, does not need lessons from societies whose idea of spirituality is a heaven peopled with female virgins for the use of men, whose idea of heaven resembles a cosmic brothel._ *- Ibn Warraq*
"If you're an undocumented parent...a chance encounter with local police could change the course of your entire life" OH YEAH GOD FORBID WE ENFORCE THE LAWS. That's like me saying "when you're an undocumented meth dealer, a chance encounter with the police could separate you from your children forever" what a ridiculous complaint.
I dont judge ANY person, i do believe you are a result of your life, whats chosen, can't be chosen and what you didnt see as a choice, you are a result of your life. And i dont judge. But if you come from a country that has a high birthrate, children are less likely to have been given the time and energy it takes for them to become well educated young individuals that respect and love. The less educated the people in a country are, the less schools there are, the more of a religious country it is. So, yes, we are all humans, we all got a soul, if you believe that... But are we all equally good, well formed, well meaning... etc? I dont think so. I do believe that my country has lost alot to immigrants.
Multicultural? Immigrants should assimilate into the culture of the country to which they emigrate. This is difficult at best when the immigrant brings religious baggage.
*sigh* not again, why politics?!! Can someone at TED please educate people about politics!! The least hostile form of politics is democracy, BUT that creates problems in itself. Democracy is the choice of the majority, but the minority will be unsatisfied regardless if they are 49% or 1%. THAT is what creates a problem. Democracy can only work if the minority have they choice to not take any part of a vote. I.e. if a vote is made to raise taxes and the majority votes in favour of it, then they can pay more taxes if they chose to and leave the minority be, unaffected of the outcome. Otherwise you have coercion and you have a problem! If you can't see that, you're an idiot and a victim of societal indoctrination that is not good for you or anyone else!!! This speaker does not have a single clue on what she is yapping about! She is a victim of coercive politics and I would say she, like the rest of us supporting politics no matter what form, is suffering from the Stockholm syndrome! Plain and simple!
You could've written "US only" in the title or something. There are other countries than the US on this planet. I like to watch TED for its educational value, but this is just US politics. There is ebough of it in the news already. spare us...
I love TED but in 4 minutes i was just bored by this. She is speak like she speak about something terrifying or her every word is about some mystery, but it's not. It's more like sweets are sweet OMG! Noooo... -__- . And there is 0 argument till end... Why they put all white to same box ? I'm and German, or Russian. I don't thing that there is something like race culture. Why Latino need to have Latino representative if they support black/white/green/blue person. Why they have support by skin color? This is racist ! Like Black person can't represent white person and and conversely. 0 arguments.
She didn't struggle because she's an immigrant. She just studied a useless topic. Actually it has its use, but a gazillion of others - mostly female students - had the same idea, it wasn't about having a good network. You get a decent network if you excel at what You are doing. East Asian males don't seem to bother about politics but about an education which leads to success. So she did well in the SJW-Business, good for her. The more thinkers and the less makers get out of the University and ultimately make it to TED, the more ridiculous the platform itself gets. Identity politics instead of real innovations and change, TED Talks need to become better again.
Of course it is difficult to get citizenship in the United States. The same is true for every industrialized country, and many less developed countries as well. Making it difficult to gain citizenship weeds out those who lack the fortitude to otherwise contribute to our society.
Her statement that an undocumented mother who sends her child off to school doesn't know whether she will see that child again indicates that Sayu refuses to acknowledge that an illegal immigrant assumes that risk. Sayu herself has a commendable respect for and willingness to contribute to and become a part of American political, cultural and social institutions, but unfortunately, not all immigrants are like her. That difference underlines the need for our government to choose carefully who it will accept to become a part of our society.
What I don't understand is why the race of our representatives matters. Surely our vote shouldn't be based on race, but rather the political agendas and policies each representative is displaying. Wouldn't this make more sense and lead to more policies being put in place that benefit you and the community?
The people that adjudicating her dont know anything about history. Who was the native population lived in America, and what generation do most of you come from?
Oh yea one party importing voters rather than having policies that the real population supports makes democracy stronger
araincs So if democrats from California moved to Texas then by your logic they would be taking away republican votes, guess you would support border controls in every state then?

America is a Constitutional republic
Democracy in which 538 people can legally choose one person to become a new president even if 100% people voted for other candidate.

Because if you think about it these people spend way more time gathering information than we did, they must have seen all we saw and much more. Still there's such a difference in conclusions and opinions. Doesn't that mean that people like her have something to say as well? So I hope these videos won't change and keep coming, so hopefully in the future the comment section does change.
Assimilation is what will work. Not multiculturalism. MC is divisive, we are all humans. Let us not focus on what separates us, let us work with what is good and discard what is not, like religion for example.
Hey how do trump fans feel that we now see Trump never wanted to win the presidency and he just sold you snake oil? LOL
Tripp393 LOL how do Hillary fans feel about her wanting to go to war with Russia, china and Syria, as well as MOST of her motives being due to the sponsors of her campaign? Oh! What about the leaked emails! Or the flip flopping on her ideologies. LOL
NotQuiteTheo No one's a Hillary fan, buddy. We're just voting against the orangutan. But he didn't even WANT to win. lmao. Next level trolling.
chiki briki i know right
NotQuiteTheo Except Trump has lied way more than Hill already and he hasn't even held office. Trump is currently polled as the most disliked candidate in history.
I'm so happy I've watched this today.
SHE'S RIGHT

I actually expected that to happen.
Sorry but immigrants are needed in Canada and USA
You population is aging and the only way to replace workforce is through immigration.
In same token Canada benefited from me because I provide much needed service in isolated area, and I generate income tax
It's win win situation; I know it's hard to understand but you have to get over your racist remarks
I was one in 6 siblings that came to Canada now we are all working and helping the Canadian economy!!!
Why do these people get to speak at TED? She is not an american but trying to change what america is!
Because Americans can’t change America so us foriegns have to do y’all job
For your info these people have a label so use it mr Wayne Johnson’s
Bence Illés
Yup, totally agree with you, now let's make sure our voices are heard :)
When immigrants integrate and start running in politics they naturally will be elected leaders. No need to artificially inflate that number.
Why does every western countries need to be multicultural and divers? I seriously don't get why this is something pushed on the west and not other countries.
it's pushed in places like South Korea too where the population is aging much quicker than the US and there's no choice but to open up the borders.
Simon Suh But that is for a practical reason right? Not because they should be multicultural for some reason. Also don't forget about about Europe. The west isn't only the US.
I saw the 1k dislikes and thought the video was bad.
I saw the video.
I remember that Americans had elected Donald Trump.
This video wouldn't have gotten so many dislikes before Trump
I'm just saying
Trump made it cool to be brutally honest. Build the wall.
Glass the desert.
chiki briki
"cool"
"honest"
build the wall? with what money?
Fenrirlupo Mexico is paying for the wall, keep up
Immigration is like being in a relationship.
We as immigrants should understand what America is about, and do our best to blend in.
lol! first time seen negative reviews on TED
"Not everything went perfectly so I'm going to blame native racists, after all it can't be the case that I myself am lame."
The number of dislikes on this video is abhorrent.
Is this comedy ??
She is joking for sure !
No.
Just. No.
She right about amount of white people voting
yeah yeah, we all know "diversity" is just a code word for less white people.
make non white countries diverse
So an English degree in an English speaking country turned out to be worthless, who'd have thought
When she chose to major in EngLit, it was then that she should have known that she had phucked up...just sayan. :/
No it's called gerrymandering
With our transportation technology we'll all be one color in a century. Mix your genes and grow stronger off-springs.

Tell that to Europe.
look at her soulless eyes
hahaha an increase from $95 to $225? Australia's "temporary" partner visa just went up from $7000. love is for the rich...
Absolutely awesome!
Multicultural? Immigrants should assimilate into the culture of the country to which they emigrate. This is difficult at best when the immigrant brings religious baggage.
If you want to study literature than do it as a hobby... how could you possibly expect to make great money off of something that low of a job.
Majors in literature, calls racism for having a bad time in the job market. Fucking bravo.
Only here for the comments..
propaganda
There is ebough of it in the news already. spare us...
600 angry Americans downvoted
I love TED but in 4 minutes i was just bored by this. She is speak like she speak about something terrifying or her every word is about some mystery, but it's not. It's more like sweets are sweet OMG! Noooo... -__- . And there is 0 argument till end... Why they put all white to same box ? I'm and German, or Russian. I don't thing that there is something like race culture. Why Latino need to have Latino representative if they support black/white/green/blue person. Why they have support by skin color? This is racist ! Like Black person can't represent white person and and conversely. 0 arguments.
I feel like this is the kind of person that would say: Why I cant be racist cause im a minority!
Monica for president
I can just feel the dislikes incoming.
ted is getting worse and worse
There is an error in what the speaker says: USA is not the greatest / better democracy in the world, at least not better than Costa Rica.
her English so good and feels to be literaturists.
1:40 "A degree in English literature"... with a minor... in ENGLISH COMPLAINT-MAKING xP
this is enough from TED, time to unsub!
Gonna do that in a while, or just wait for the once in a while good one, like when Sam Harris talked about AI.
this woman is deluded.
I hope to hear the reason and how to improve democracy stronger. Why The USA have to open free? Don't other countries have duty for democracy?
Of course it is difficult to get citizenship in the United States. The same is true for every industrialized country, and many less developed countries as well. Making it difficult to gain citizenship weeds out those who lack the fortitude to otherwise contribute to our society.
More of the same old "Diversity is good crap."
Stronger? Yes we see that worldwide. NOT
gtfo
Her statement that an undocumented mother who sends her child off to school doesn't know whether she will see that child again indicates that Sayu refuses to acknowledge that an illegal immigrant assumes that risk. Sayu herself has a commendable respect for and willingness to contribute to and become a part of American political, cultural and social institutions, but unfortunately, not all immigrants are like her. That difference underlines the need for our government to choose carefully who it will accept to become a part of our society.
BULLSCRAP
Ugh.
Great speech!🇺🇸
omg! amazing
What I don't understand is why the race of our representatives matters. Surely our vote shouldn't be based on race, but rather the political agendas and policies each representative is displaying. Wouldn't this make more sense and lead to more policies being put in place that benefit you and the community?
More leftist claptrap!
Get over yourself, no one has it easy.
The people that adjudicating her dont know anything about history. Who was the native population lived in America, and what generation do most of you come from?
GTFO...........
