I was an owner/operator, I drove a 15 speed overdrive w/deep reduction in my Pete and became disabled by cause of a stroke back in '87. Never used a clutch but to start. - I drive a car as of today and that has to be an automatic. Always wondered about use of an Allison and I'm letting time go by. So a few years back, there is electronics and Eaton but I am woried about emergency use of the clutch, still doesn't fly. So by today, they have electronics galore and an automatic truck that starts, stops and changes gears with an auto Jake! All Auto! - I am just wondering what it would be like NOT being able to do any EXTRA shifts with this transmission, and T.J. knew exactly what I meant and he didn't like it and neither would I! It might be auto, but its like driving with a blindfold on, and theres nothing you can do about it. - It was great being able to know what he is talking about. Thanks!

I drive those truck like most on highway trucker nowdays. If you set the auto-jake in the highest position the truck will downshift at 2400RPM. It can stop quite brutally. If you put the jake at off the truck will coast in neutral going down small hill...not cool. We still have two derelict 13 Speed Sterling in our fleet and those are the best in a snowstorm in my opinion. But to be fair i have never encountered dangerous situation with the new electronic transmission. I would never have one for off-highway use or as an owner operator because of the prohibitive cost of repairing those tranny.

If he called U of Michigan & told them he wanted to feature that rig at the University for their calendar.....I bet they would oblige him. That he's from Wisconsin would be interesting to say the least. 👍👍

I don't like yellow vehicles at all but that blue curved stripe and all the blue paint tones it down enough to look very sharp.

Automatics are great if you bump docks twice a week and run highway only. Otherwise autotragics are for the birds.
