The Alpha Bolt with the extra black ink near the top is not unique, but it's still pretty rare. The miscut Alpha Bolt looks a lot like a card that a friend of mine sold publicly a year ago for $2650. I assume this is the same card. I haven't seen others, but it's possible that they could exist. The Island is not unique, there's a 4th edition land sheet like this, which is about 8 cards of each land artwork. One of those with this artwork has a noticeable amount of extra Magenta ink on the front. Another is currently in Singapore. I think this one sold publicly for $1350 almost a year ago. The other 5 which are assumed to have been created, have not surfaced, and could possibly have been destroyed, which was a common fate for misprints back in the day. Those year old sale values are mostly irrelevant, except that you can expect the owner won't accept less money than they paid. It's not the number of items that exist which is relevant, it's the number available in the market. These are rare enough that it's unlikely for more than one to be available at the same time, and you'd have to be very lucky to even have one of them available. The one in Singapore won't be changing hands anytime soon. An owner/seller could ask for any price, and the buyer won't have many options.
I wouldn't want to replace Keith, it's better to have both of us around. I'll make some misprint videos though. There's a lot of misprints in my Mail Day video, and also some in my Misprint Authentication video and Foil Cut Line video, plus I recently did an Exodus Test Print video.
I mean, you can bring an extra Proxy Chaos Orb for the flipping and keep the original one inside the deck box if someone complains... I used to know a guy at my LGS 15 years ago that collected misprints from all sets, his binders was amazing but this misprints are just of the charts... great video Mr Vintage Magic, interesting and unique as always, thanks for sharing!!
This video is funny. First Chaos Orb Flip??? Is this guys' name Tony or Timmy; I think I may have heard Rudy talking about this noob. Great stuff!! I'm not sure if my favorite misprint is really a misprint or just an editing mistake; the foil version Embermage Goblin had a belt that looked too much like it could be a naughty part so they had Pete Ventors paint over it for the non-foil version.
You are missing that there wont be the same amount of people around in 20 years who feel nostalgic about papermagic and the demand will decline , we all grew up in some way with papermagic but most of the youth does not
Agree with your point to an extent but i believe Alpha and Beta will def hold their own. Look at comic books or sports cards. No amount of digital has dented the prices of the sort after low print run originals. Granted comics and sports permeate popular culture more so. But the same idea applies.
If you were talking about retro video games I'd say you are right on. Vintage Magic cards have a few more things going for them. Magic has far greater inter-generational and international appeal. Especially since ABU, Arabian, and Antiquities are only available in English. I've been saying reserve list cards have been overvalued for a good six months to a year because of people have been unable to control their emotions and be patient. That said, I do think MtG has the best chance of any collectible from my generation to steadily increase in price over the next 50+ years. If WotC is allowed to screw the game into non existence and the player pool shrinks significantly I would expect to see maybe one big crash along with stagnation and decaying prices.
you seriously need to stop tell guests to unsleeve their cards and then touch them like they're yours. you think it will get you more subscribers or what's the reason?
Lion go back to work Misprints are interesting but hella expensive. I like the missing a layer of ink misprint. The black cards that look grey are my fav
@@neckutter i know bro. I get you too. Its just the way mtg lion is and carries himself. I used to watch his content too and it was good, but then he got childish and gossipy. Just attacking people and always complaining. I love vintage magic with all that sweet historical mtg stuff. Im not going to unsubscribe I just got tired of seeing him on vintage magics channel, but that dude really grinds my gears.
George Torres truth be told I lose my interest in Lion's videos about 2/3 the way in and find something new. My salt intake can only take so much. He seems like an OK dude though. But I like a DesolatorMagic's content and I'm sure he isn't a cool dude.
Miss prints are always super interesting.
The Alpha miscut bolt and 4th Edition Island are amazing cards.
It's nice to see them again.
Are those basically unique? I miss watching Keith's misprint videos. He would never say what he paid or how many of a particular card exists though.

@@TavisKingsChannel Very cool info. Hey you should replace Keith and make misprint videos :p

when urza's destiny first came out i opened a box and every single card was half of one card and half of the other. I really wish i still had them
Good video Daniel
love them, they are really unique.
sweet collection
Misprint are really awesome, but to be fair the new misprint card are my favourtie, simply because it's really hard to find a new misprint card
i have a super interesting misprint. Back is flipped with top, it's so crazy. BTw im not selling.
Sweet deck! When's the video coming focusing on the original Alpha arts? (backstory, etc.)

I think I sold you a miscut Tundra on Ebay like 10 years ago! Sadly they go for more than $50 now :(
$50? :)

Hey Dan, there really isn't too many bad comments here so far ;p
That damaged Lotus would probably not fetch more than $12,000 on the high end FB group. I've passed up buying a nicer Beta Lotus for $12,000.
casually has a gem mint graded alpha signed black lotus on the table...... boy gonna get robbed.
millionaire house !
Can't believe y'all are giving MTGLion video time. Look at his personal channel, literally all lies about his company and jobs he offers for clicks.
danman1012 he seems like an ok guy. Kinda bitter about things, but aren't we all
I cant stand mtg lion. Cry baby. Just look at most of his old videos. Gonna have to unsubscribe. Sorry guys.
George Torres if you surround yourself with people that only agree with you, you'll be lonely
