What the guy with the sign at the protest should have told him was that since the state of Venezuela implements price controls the state is the de facto owner of the companies, if not in name. The reason why there are food shortages in Venezuela is because that's what price controls end up doing, setting below market prices so that everything is snatched up. Even in America there is a very much interventionist economy and the state likewise implements wage controls so they do have a hand in running these companies that people consider private. Wage controls end up resulting in chronic unemployment.
He's also not wrong that the government owns the means of production. It's what a socialist system does. The kid with the sign wasn't owned. The kid with the camera was just being an ass who doesn't understand the situation.

So I'm right and your wrong" Authors have their own individual biases and their books will lean toward that. Also, authors and editors make mistakes. I don't think I've ever seen a book that didn't have a few typos, or they left a word out. People really need to start checking the citations, and have more than one source. Especially, if the topic is about a specific political point of view, things go bad real fast if you realize six months later you were wrong.
Edit: Also, Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source! Stop using it.

I'm so glad you mentioned checking sources and facts. Most of the political segments were not funny because they were false. Always study facts even if you initially agree, that way you don't make a fool of yourself. Basically, you're agreement on a statement does not make it a fact.

They call themselves "African" first then they add the American afterwards, and that's not an issue since they do in fact reside within the borders of the United States of America and are citizens of it so them calling themselves American is completely valid.
But Shapiro identifies as a religious Jew, a "religious" Jew would not toss away his beliefs and religious scriptures out in the trash. There's no way. A religious person would abide by the laws of his religion, as a religious person must have complete faith and belief that what was said in his book is true. Which proves my point on Shapiro's hypocrisy.

In terms of Shapiro and his faith, I think it's very telling of his intellectual integrity that he would adapt his beliefs based on his experiences and the knowledge that human society has amassed since the writing of those scriptures. Taking all the good his faith has accumulated and using that as a guide for his behaviors and traditions seems equal to how Americans in general are prideful of all the good things America has accomplished.
My comment was that it seemed odd that you had a problem with him being religious as if that automatically limits the scope of what and how he is allowed to think. That might be telling of you and your inclinations.

Regarding the Venezuela clip, the regime did nationalize na big portion of the agriculture industry and heavily regulated the food supply chain by fixing prices which means that companies often have to sell their products at the same price they've bought it or at a lower price. In many cases companies prefer not do buy inventory at all because they know that they will lose money.
The sanctions on Venezuela do exist but the food shortage problem started long before they were implemented. They started when oil prices started coming down in 2014.
So the guy protesting was right, he just isn't good at arguing i guess and he didn't knew the facts well.

FYI that boy scout rant was being given by Ben Shapiro. Sexuality is a continuum. It's hard to wrap your brain around it if you aren't going through it. No one really talks about how many children are born either or both, sometimes they have the hormone levels of one gender and the anatomy of another. Instead of finding ways to divide people we should look at what things we have in common and love in whatever form is still love.
The problem with education is how it's run, the Department of Education didn't exist until the late 70's and America didn't allocate millions to education before the inception of the Education Department...and yet America was number 1 in education in the world, the United States quickly started falling in education and spending millions on it when the Education Department was created, this is why people advocate to end the Department of Education, and want individual States to run their public schools without a federal mandate. The same advocates want the colleges to be private and receive nothing from the central government because when the U.S. government got involved with colleges tuition jumped 300%. The issue is more complicated than 550 million dollars.

You cut back one program so you can fund another program. A program, and agenda that you never even hear about or you never even vote get to vote on

I'm okay with people being whatever they want to be, BUT it does not mean everyone has to agree with you.
