    Have been using a Neje 2S that has done well for me. But ordered the Comgro 10 watt as an upgrade. Appreciate the video. It has given me a better idea what the Comgro can do.

      I hope it was helpful. I do think this laser is a good one that costs less than others with similar power and capabilities.

    I purchased my z1 10w in March 2024. I need to clean the laser head. The video to clean is for a later model can you help?

      I've done more things with this laser after adding the air assist as well as the camera to it. It's still working well for me!

    Would something like this work on clay like terracotta?

      @Vintauri  Рік тому

      Yes it would work for that. You can check out my friend @TheClackShack and his video on engraving a Terracotta pot here ua-cam.com/video/5vNnyd4TfvQ/v-deo.html

    Can you still buy the 10W version? When I looked recently their website wasnt clear which version (5 or 10W) they were selling. I couldn't see an option to select between them. The price looked too low to be a 10W ?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  11 місяців тому

      It's hard to say from their website. It used to give you the option from 5w or 10w. It also looks like they are backordered in both the US and EU at this time.

    You mentioned that the Z1 10Watt has a square laser and not a rectangle or circle. Mine has a rectangle which means we are looking at 0.08x.120 for the dot. Am I correct or misguided?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Рік тому

      In their documentation they state that the focus spot is square at .08 x .08 mm. While I can’t test that with exact measurements I did do a kerf test to ensure that the cuts in both directions were removing an equal amount and they were almost spot on in my tests. This would ensure at least a square focus point instead of rectangular.

    • @AwesomeFuture777
      @AwesomeFuture777 Рік тому

      @@Vintauri ok that's really odd because when you focus the dot there is a rectangle and ant one end, the right side, there is a brighter spot. If you take your head off and point it at the wall, do you see a rectangle? I do for sure. Or when you clean the lense, do you see a rectangle in the middle of the lense? I do as well. If you could test yours in this manner, I'd love to hear the results.
      Thanks!

    I'm so glad I stumbled across you this morning! I've been looking at lasers for the past month and have narrowed it down to the Sculpfun10 or the Comgrow and just watched both of your reviews on these. I'm still undecided 😕 but... the Comgrow is where my gut draws me in. I'm new to this whole concept but catch on easily. What stands out the most to you about either one?
    By the way, are you in Minnesota because both reviews you incorporated my home state 😉 and I'm assuming you are in Southern MN.

      It's hard to beat the value of the Comgrow Z1 laser. It's got everything you might want in the initial laser, and the newer models are coming with the air assist cone included. Both machines will require you to purchase an air pump. The sculpfun S10, you'll have to add limit switches to if you want them, but they have upgrade kits for expanding it in both directions if you feel you need that larger work area. Comgrow just released their 20w module which is cheaper than most at this time so that might be a nod in that direction. Both companies are fairly active on social media and have decent user groups that help with ideas and basic support. So I really think it comes down to cost between these two. If you wanted to jump up in price a bit, I'd suggest looking at the Sculpfun S30 pro. It includes the air pump which is also controlled by lightburn so you can have it automatically turn on and off the air as needed. I am in southern Minnesota and like to incorporate local projects in to my videos. I hope this helps you with your decision!

      @Vintauri I'm going off of what you are saying and will have to sit back down and look at the bigger models too. I did not realize the air pumps didn't come with them. I was eyeballing the Comgrow 20 but didn't know how much more it did over the 10. I'm totally new to this but can't wait to get started!
      I'm in south east Minnesota so hello my fellow Minnesotan!

      @@fuzznickersthere are packages from Comgrow that have everything included. I just bought mine a couple weeks ago and it came with the tent, air pump, fume extractor, and honeycomb bed for about $500 shipped. It did also come with an acrylic spacer for setting the proper clearances

    I need to see you make your own design and transfer it to your laser and engrave, please. Will you do that, please? This is the only item that is holding me back from getting one. I turn wood and people want personal items like pictures of their loved ones and notes.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Рік тому

      I am working on a few videos that walk through my file set up or design process. I like to mix these in with the product review videos to help people see real world uses. I'll try to do one soon on transferring a handwritten note to the engraver soon.

    Can I chang a 5w combo to 10w?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  9 місяців тому

      Generally yes, but there may be some differences between the 5w and some 10w modules with the wiring. You’ll want to check directly with the company about this to be sure.
