This is especially true for the track「仁義なき戦い」(Battle Without Honour or Humanity). Before Kill Bill Vol.1 came out, nobody outside Japan knew of this theme song for a famous Yakuza TV drama and movie series by the same name. After the release of the movie, the whole world knows this song now, and associates it with Kill Bill; even the younger generations of Japanese people as well (since they never saw the Yakuza series).
Guess it comes from years and years and years of sitting in front of the television and watching good shit. Hell he even used the Green Hornet theme song from the tv show in this movie and it works infinitely better here than as the theme for the Green Hornet itself.
Tarantino is a big fan of 60s and 70s music. And he has a habit of adding his personal hobbies and fetishes into his movies. And I think that's why his movies have such a unique style
I remember I was 8 years old when I first saw Kill Bill at my grandma’s house. It was this scene alone with the music that made me love these movies. Kinda young to see the movie but I’ve loved it ever since. Ever since I saw they added them to Netflix I watch them every time I go on road trips. I’m 19 now and Quentin Tarantino is def one of my fav directors 🥴
I was the same age when I saw the Good the Bad and the Ugly with my dad while mum was at work. The final scene, the music, the director will never be forgotten. The final scene of Kill Bill.is much the same.
I watched them both when i was 10 because my brother was watching them. They made me fall in love with film. And yes Quentin is one of my favorite directors
Quentin Tarantino is up there as one of the best directors in history he has up-to-date 2018 never made a bad film yet the soundtracks on his films are iconic
Holy shit I totally forgot about that game, I still need to play that, I already play this song everytime there's a battle in like any game I play so it would just fit right in in that. I mainly play it when I'm playing For Honor tho, because like it's an actual duel, it's not just you and an AI or a boss, it's another player that can best you, it fits so well with both games honestly.
This instrumental and its fight scene reminds me of some inspirational gaming boss fights, when samples of awesome, Hollywood-rivaling music take place.
Hello Politisk Korrekt. I am interested in playing your edit version as part of the entrance for my wedding. Would like to request for a copy I can download and save. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
It's so hard for me to like an action film... I watched the scene that with this music more than 5 times... Tarantino made an legendary art with blood and samurai blades !
I am surprised nobody I have seen so far has mentioned this but the splicing messed up a tad at 0:44-0:48. (specifically around 0:46). the section is longer than it rhythmically should. throws off timing where the priginal does not. (just thought Id say. Besides that - good rendition - this is how this song should be heard - without lyrics, with just our imaginations and memories of a sword fight punctuating the track :-).
The fight with Oren was great but i wish they would make it more diversified, like oren and Beatrix use some hand to hand combat and crazy moves and more weapons.
chris Christodoulou Actually, this isn't a different version of the song. It's in the full version of the song close to the 4 minute mark. All they did was lift that section of the song. The beginning of the full version starts off like this with some extra music about 40 seconds in and the singing eventually starts but the singing stops around that 4 minute mark and then you get the exact same music that's on this video. The singing then picks up again sometime after this part. Again, this isn't a different version. It was lifted from the full version. I used to think that there were two different versions until I listened to the full version and found out that this exact part was in it.
I actually didn't know that. This video was edited from some random version I don't remember, by looping some of the music twice, a professional sound editor would probably be able to find flaws in the music that I accidently made. I will definitely go listen to the original soundtrack now though
+Mike Hunt I neglected to mention that, in the full version, at about that 4 minute mark when the clapping begins, it lasts about 34 seconds until the music starts again. In your video, the clapping only lasts about 16 seconds until the music starts. So, you cut off about 18 seconds of the clapping to begin your video. After that, the music is the exact same for awhile. I say for awhile because, as the song progresses in your video, you still have what the full version has until you reach a certain point. When you get there, one part that leads to another is cut out. The same thing happens again as the song progresses. So, basically it's the same thing. You just cut off 18 seconds of the clapping that starts at around the 4 minute mark and there's some other parts, which lead to other parts, that were cut out. I didn't know that you looped the song. Back when I originally listened to it and compared it to that part of the full version, I obviously didn't listen long enough to catch the differences. This time, I actually compared the two, listening seconds by seconds. So, it's incredibly similar, you just have to listen close enough to catch the differences. So, since there are some differences, I guess that you could technically say that it's a different version, yet, seemingly, not in the way that the commenters meant, seeing as how it's incredibly similar. More than likely, they didn't know the differences between yours and the original. If they had heard the full original song and liked that specific part of it and then saw your video, which only consists of that part of the song (not realizing that there are differences), I could see how they would view it as a different version. Meaning, it's not the entire song, just that part of it (then again, it's possible that they might have known the differences). Anyway, I'm sorry if this has been confusing and I also apologize for this being such a long post. By the way, you did a pretty good job with this song :-)

Quentin sure has the knack of selecting the best music for all the scenes in his movies. He is a genius.
