Sometimes when we or our kids are upset or stressed, it feels hard to even think about what to do to feel better. We’re so worked up that we can’t think straight. And when our kids have really big emotions, we might feel like nothing we try is working or there’s just no way to reason with them to make it better. And this gets trickier if kids have ADHD or anxiety. In this video, I’m going to explain how these reactions actually make sense. And then how to use some quick coping skills to help parents and kids calm down, and get back to a place where we can work through problems and big emotions more effectively. I’m Dr. Jacque from ChildBehaviorClinic.com. I'm a mom of two and a licensed psychologist who helps families with child anxiety and ADHD. #copingskills #parentingtips

Thank you so much! Just found your channel.
My son is autistic and adhd. Would you consider doing a video towards the kiddos? It’s very helpful to have this as a parent, but I find seeing someone else speak about these things can help the child also. Thank you for what you do.

Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting. The channel is mostly geared toward parents - you're right. As a child psychologist, I have these conversations with kids too though! Is there something specific that you're thinking of? If you haven't seen it, the short belly breathing video can be good for kiddos :-) You can view it here: ua-cam.com/video/KssedxpbLpg/v-deo.html
