6:50 and 7:20 this isn’t her dash speed, it’s the speed of her actual full tilt run that only happens after you hold the stick long enough for the turn around animation. Yeah it helps her clear space if she launches cross stage, but it doesn’t change her throw-dash-fstrong at all
So glad you liked it! Gonna be doing these every patch, as well as meta updates a few weeks after a patch to see what the meta looks like after it’s been developed a bit ❤️
I regligously play orcane, and one of the most notable things is his recovery. He used to be so confortable but with the tweaks to the ledge with his forward special and not being able to stall in the air with his down special leaves me hoplessly juggled offstage so much more
Please at least just make Orcane's back air better please make it link better by making the sweet spot back air slightly larger T_T. That move just doesn't work rn its like 70% coughing baby and 30% actually good move.
Great video. I understand the reasoning for the changes and I think they handled it well overall but what they did with Orcane was downright disrespectful. The changes to Fleet make more sense to me as the character was easily the most overtuned IMO but Orcane was largely unrepresented in the meta meaning the players that were good with the character did so with a lot of practice and sacrifice only for their character to get demolished. Generally speaking I think the patch was good but how they handled Orcane was a huge oversight.
I still feel like every character is still good and viable despite how harshly they got nerfed. Fleet and Orcane got hit HARD for sure, but some people are overreacting by completely abandoning them instead of trying to adapt to the nerfs in any real way, which is a bad mindset to have imo.
I played pretty much all orcane until this patch, now Im picking up other characters. When playing orcane I definitely have to play more safe/defensive now with the orcane nerfs. Idk why they overcorrected so hard on his whole moveset, when like you said orcane had the worst tourney results. Now we have to wait 2 months before they inevitability buff him. Obviously he can still win, but other characters have much better tools
As someone who hates fighting Orcane I'm glad he got nerfed. I got the side-b nerf I wanted and some lag on f-tilt and up-tilt but think the down-special stall removal is too much. I'm just surprised they went that hard on him.
I def think they got it right in some places (coming from an orcane player who’s played him since early rivals 1) but the 8 frame lag on projectiles and such drastic recovery nerfs hurt lots, esp compared to other characters changes
@@laststock6430 I was an Orcane main in Rivals 1. I switched in Rivals 2 to Kragg because new Orcane feels weird to me despite being pretty much the same on paper. Kragg got the nerf on his rock throw start and recovery so projectiles in general took a hit. I think the puddle/droplets were too spammable in neutral and his recovery obnoxious in a game with ledges.
it feels so hard to kill with fleet now. side b is a lot less worth it to use. maybe i just have to be a god with float or something, but I'm having a hard time with her. the float ledge change is tough to get used to, but understandable. but wrastor and kragg still have insane recovery..
The worst nerf for Clairen is definetly her up especial. Not having the C. Falcon-like air drift after the second swing removes one of the only mixups she had. Add that to the fact she gets punished like crazy any time she lands on stage with the move and she arguebly has a bottom 3 recovery.
I think orcane's nerfs are fine. I don't have an issue with the side special not grabbing ledge for 10 frames because I usually wall jump with it and then double jump to grab ledge and mix it up by using the fake up special to snap to ledge anyway. I would say they should make it so if you get hit by down b bubbles, you can't asi down and parry them like you can now. Orcane needs to have his trapping tools work for him, not against him. Like they did when projectiles hit shield, if you get hit with projectiles, your parry window should change to frame 6 as well.
They turned the water dog to dog water
The ugly laugh I let out reading this 😭
Sad but true.
Restore my boy, Orcane did nothing wrong.
I had to reread almost 3 times and still laughed

Try side b’ing to the wall > wall jump and double jumping, and then using backwards fair onto the stage! It might help
@@laststock6430 Thanks, this is my first fighting game, I dont come from smash or any simillar games so things like this dont come ovbiously to me
My fav rivals cc uploaded 😃
Hm, interesting changes. Good video as always!

Try comboing the weak hit into forward or down strong at kill percents!

Video was really good, not sure why you couldn't demonstrate the changes on screen while talking about them tho
Wish I could! I wanted to get the video out in a timely manner and wrap up my college finals tho, and wouldn’t have been able to do both in a week 😞
