Oh David, this plugin is another step forward, but I like to note how your passionate and technical way always makes it so easy to understand the potential of what you analyze. There are many great youtube channels with many knowledgeable people, you always remain number one for me🔝👏🏻🤟🏻
I've used Oxford Drum Gate for tasks like these ... but just checked out the Sonible Gate - and this is so much more flexible and faster to dial in. Also great for drying up non-drums-instruments. Sonible rocks!
Thanks David-I just got smart gate -I have a killer Stam 47 mk2 mic that has RF problem in my studio in Manhattan. This will take it right out. I'm psyched! Your videos are the sh**!
Whoa! I already own the Smart bundle with the instant Limit, compressor and reverb and I have the full Smart EQ3 and full Smart Limit. This will definitely be added to the collection. This in my opinion is the greatest gate plugin to date
I like it, but prefer BSA's Silencer: much easier to use, just wanna gate very quickly the drums without having to tweak many controls. Anyway, great video explanation!
I'm wondering if they are going to incorporate this "real-time learning" in the other smart plug-ins. My one mark against sonible is that it only gives you ten seconds of "learning" at a time. This doesn't mean that it will magically shift and change - like Soundtheory's Gullfoss or Wavesfactory Equalizer - but rather it can take averages over a stretch of time and will find an optimum setting. Just a thought =]
Their Sonible 'smart EQ Live' (paid for separately but worth it for me as a guitarist / vocalist because it can easily tailor an EQ curve to fit those sources) has a switch that lets you continue to use the smart EQ algos in real time without them stopping after a limited number of seconds.
For mixing real fast metal with blastbeats and fast snare to tom fills, which is better, this or the sonnox drum gate? Both for sale right now and I cant choose haha. Advice please, thank guys!
I mix Jon Dette's drums (among others) and so far I've been using Sonnox, BUT I did try this before the video on one of the projects and it worked slightly better
Hey David, would you get this one instead of Sonnox Intelligent Drum Gate? I need a good gate plugin, stock for cubase is antiquated, and Silencer.... it feels like toy-ish......
Sonnox is also badass, these two are definitely at the top of the game. Tough choice, I have both and I'd be hard pressed if I have to pick one. I'd say probably this if you're using it on other things other than drums
@@mixbustv Thanks David! so I went for the Sonnox Oxford DG because right now I need it for Drums (plus, it is on sale $49 at pluginBoutique) .. but the other one, I will too, I believe is a must... I'll wait a bit maybe if FabFilter update its current to compete with this one... 👍
@@mixbustv I saw someone posting a message that it displayed that the detection doesnt work when working under 1024 🤷♂️ Not really relating to actual performance of the computer. Havent tested it myself yet.
This is what AI works best on, I think it's the most no brainer of the series... maybe the less exciting out of the bunch, but clearly as a tool, it's finally that tool done right

Thank you!! 🙏
The birth of a new standard for sure. Thanks David for walking us through basic and advanced use. You rock!

I love Oxford too, but this one man.. ufff!
this time, i bought the plugin even before seeing your video, this is a true game changer!!! pays for itself in the first editing/mixing session!!!!!
Been waiting for this for a while. God tier! Easy buy
Facts!
Last review I watched from you I went and instantly purchased. Here we go again
I get flashbacks any time I hear that first vocal haha, was in a band with the singer😂. Another great demo and explanation
I bought this earlier today. I think the creative possibilities are worth the admission alone!
For sure!
Thanks David-I just got smart gate -I have a killer Stam 47 mk2 mic that has RF problem in my studio in Manhattan. This will take it right out. I'm psyched! Your videos are the sh**!
Sonible is huge! The smart gate is just genius. Great video!
Awesome!

Thank you for all your awesome videos David! You are an awesome human being, much love!
🙏 thank you!
Love to see a demo with various medium and high gain guitar styles.
The example you showed on those OV’s has me sold. Game changer
Was cool wasn't it 😉
Great as always David!
Fantastic Gate!!!!!!!! THANKS. :)

WWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW The level bias is the only reason to buy it and it sounds natural !!!
Sold!
There should be an "OTT" target, as an edm producer that's about the only time I use a gate... to clean up ott's hissing and squealing.
I‘d use the neutron 3 gate for that :)
Great video, thanks.
Perfect!
I'm downloading the demo right now.
Просто волшебный плагин!

I hope so too, also much smoother operation

Smart EQ 3 has a dynamic knob where you can dial it in to keep responding to the sound live.
@@jonathanscarletmusic Thank you very much =]
this can be a stem separator
Sonible products are solid!!!!!
For sure!
Did you try it on heavy guitars? How does it handle this kind of material?
THX David really WoW tool
Dinner is ready, come ❤️💙
😄❤ I'm literally next to you
Yay!
Also, damn that’s a nice sounding snare
Do you think this is better than apps like RX10, Spectrallayers 10, etc.? I like that there are no artifacts.
Is yhis useful in any shape or form for EDM/hip-hop production/mixing? This looks super useful for mics recording / bleeding type of mixing
Not really

How much latency does it have? Something to use in Live setup?
I'm sorry I have no idea
Latency is 81.3ms at 44.1khz and 74.7ms at 96khz
@@rlb303 thank you
Can we believe the hype? The only plugin maker you really don’t criticise🤔
I hope so I just got the smart bundle.
Their stuff works, their innovations are actually functional, that simple
@@mixbustv It’s great to hear from a pro, thanks.
were you always on Windows???
Yes
ah yeah
True that it needs a buffer size of 1024 to work ?
Only if your computer is from 1998
@@mixbustv I saw someone posting a message that it displayed that the detection doesnt work when working under 1024 🤷♂️ Not really relating to actual performance of the computer. Havent tested it myself yet.
Weird question but does this plugin need internet to work or is all the “smart” stuff done on device
Absolutely not
Powerful Tool! More than just a Gate. Impressive 🔥

Take my money
Latency?
Judging by SmartComp, around 2 minutes probably
This looks better than the neutron gate.
How come it has so insane latency, effectively unusable for realtime playing. Probably its purpose is different.
Id probably use it for resampling tbh, if the latency is that high (haven't watched the video yet)
Hey guys, i have a licence of Pro G to sell, anyone intrested ?
😄
