As a casual wow player who usually gets frustrated with the complexity of some of these combinations of spells on builds, this guy has been a life saver. When i get home from a long shift of work and just want to escape into a few quest and profession skill ups its nice to just have a build thats good enough. i dont need a build that makes me amazing i just want to enjoy the basics of the game and this guy helps with that. easy to understand for a slow person like me. thanks so much for the help. Got to learn to crawl before i can walk.
I really appreciate this. This is exactly why I started doing this channel! :)
This might be the only Frost guide I've seen that I could actually understand lol
Your channel is a life-saver for beginner wow players
Thankyou. I'm really grateful. Nice to hear how much it helps
Thanks for giving good, clear, and precise information in a way that doesn't waste your viewers time.
Very good video! I like that you explain the rotation and everything else in a slow, comprehensible way, so it's easy to understand even for someone who has never played with a mage. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work! big big like!
Awesome, thank you!
Just what I was looking for as a beginner mage. Thank you for explaining everything very clearly!
You're very welcome!
Excellent guide for ppl just picking up the class like me, thxs
New sub! This is a great video, keep it up mate!
Cheers buddy and welcome!
Really great, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Just coming back after 2 year break. Thanks for the straightforward guide. BiS class weak aura btw
Welcome back!
I really liked your Fire video, so thought I'd check this one out too. I think there are a couple of major omissions from this rotation though, even for beginners to the spec. Glacial Spike is pretty much an essential talent now because our both of our tier set bonuses are based on it, and tier gear is easier than ever to get, even for someone that only does casual content. Using Glacial Spike actually makes the timing of Flurry a bit more nuanced than just using it on cooldown because you want to make sure that GS benefits from Winter's Chill (or being frozen) the vast majority of the time. The same goes for Comet Storm, which is another important ability that can benefit massively from Flurry. I don't know if you would be able to easily push up to 2.5k rating, or get the current curve achievement without taking advantage of GS and CS because you wouldn't meet the typical DPS expectations of most Heroic raid groups. All that being said, I do really like the format of your videos and I would love to see some more advanced/intermediate videos from you in the future!
I agree, glacier strike is an absolute must.
So I am trying frost (I leveled as arcane), and I realized Comet Storm and Ray of Frost don't consume the Winter Chill stacks like single target spells do. Does that mean they don't benefit from the Winter Chill counting as frozen?
@@Yursa_Luna Yes, they both benefit from Winter's Chill, even though they don't consume it. It is a good idea to do something like Flurry > Comet Storm > Glacial Spike > Ice Lance to make use of the debuff. Flurry > Comet Storm > Ray of Frost > Glacial Spike > Ice lance is also sometimes possible in your BL opener depending on your haste I believe
@@JustS0meK1dd Ah ok thank you. It was very counter intuitive. I seen alot of people saying Comet Storn and Ray of Frost after Flurry, but it wasn't working like the other spells. Again tyvm ^ ^
The video combined with your comment is kinda perfect tho😁
New to the game and this helped me a lot. Thank you
Glad to hear it!
Really appreciate this, thanks man. Nice N simple. :P
Np bud!
Pretty cool you made all these guides.
Glad you think so!
Are you not missing Glacial Spike? To use with 5 ice shards?
hes missing a few things imo
Congrats Dude, very plain and understandable, your english way of speaking sounds very nice to listen. PARABENS!
Thanks! 😃
Appreciate the straight to the point clear guide!
hey nice video. I saw that the T parts push glacier spines, what should I do?
I may have zoned out but when do you use comet storm?
Where is Glacial Spike?
Good guide but I think it’s important to say shifting power reduces cooldowns too which can be super important
I agree, you make a good point!
Love the guide! Can you make an update one? Your content is always easy to understand and to the point
There will be updates coming sooooon!
and how do i play it with the t set?
I can't figure out how to "frow" a frozen orb.
So you dont get it on a permanent basis?
SHould be casting comet storm after flurry and ray of frost on one proc of winters chill
Ty
Nevermind i just found it thx
I'm king of struggling. I put Winters Chill on a target dummy and drop the Comet Storm on it and it doesn't consume the stack of Winters Chill. Neither does Ray of Frost. Is this normal?
yes, it is normal. it makes use of the buff but it doesn't consume a charge. that is why you use ray of frost on the second charge of winter's chill
best guide and video. Thnx bro
I watched this video twice and said the same thing lol GS and CS are essential to frost lol
How were you able to distribute so many talent points? I can't get to the bottom of either tree. 🤔
At max level?
@@JaviHeals Aaaahhh. Right. I forgot that my mage is not yet at max level. 2 hours sleep are not enough for thinking. 😅
What happened to the water elemental. Did they remove it. Havent played mage in years
its put with your big cd (cold snap) so it spawns when you pop it, and does some damage during that time window.
@@svenkonig453 it's a part of Icy Veins now, not Cold Snap.
Dude, whats the staff called? Its insane looking?
It's frost mage artifact weapon from legion. Easily unlocked through a questline and it has different forms. Would definitely reccommend if you like frost.
Légion Artifact appearance mate, perfect for frost spec!
Can you do a turtorial for frost mage season 4? :D
Its up now!!! 😁
Javier can you link your elvui profile please?
Thank you very much for your guide!
It’s pinned in my discord - too long for here
Thank you!!
Don't use flurry twice, that's wrong, u should cast glacial spice only with winter chill that flurry gives u
wth?? why did you take blast wave as frost?
Its called m+ build..
man those keybinds need work but its straight forward. I wish I hadi this video when I was learning lol.
Have you noticed how my keybinds are in the wrong order for the keyboard 😫 my muscle memory is too used to it now lmao😂 Really need to change those
Man I know exactly what you mean! I've a standard layout for keybind organization so I can swap to any character--well except the ones that have like 5ccs lol

hey javier, can u share ur elvui profile?
I've put it in my discord as I get asked a lot :D
Mirror image is a defensive
In open world content sure. Or if you have a bad tank. Otherwise it’s dps
@@SargentD4 it's literally a defensive. Wasting a global for the "damage" is stupid.
Exactly. Mirror image will deal like 1k dmg, its not a dps spell
@@SargentD4 it literally does like .1% of damage, not even probably. The tooltip specifically says 20% damage reduction while images are up.
I pop mirror before pulls soley because of 2 reasons:
1. When mirrors are out you generate zero threat. Even if you hit glacial spike for 800k, you will generate no threat allowing you to play more aggressively.
2. I pop it during boss phases when general damage is taken. This helps reduce the amount of healing necessary for your healer.
very bad video. takes forever to get to the point where i can watch a 3 minute video and get the same result
Why bother watching then. Shouldn’t need guides if you think you’re good enough to be slandering this guy.
@@pablomontoya8879i want you to read my comment again and ponder why this reply is dumb
@@beepboop7769 re evaluated and you're still dumb.
Your stats pyramid doesn't make sense. If Mast/haste are most important, why would you get crit past the soft cap- also why don't you explain the soft cap for mast/haste? Like are you even trying to help? Also, how do you figure Mirror Images are "utility" and not a dps cooldown? I don't profess to know everything about Mages, but you're simply not making sense on a fundamental level, and from what I can tell 2mins in, this is not a guide at all.
Read what mirror image does... it is absolutely a defensive cd. You need some crit for frost mage to feel more complete. Literally go look up a guide online its all the same stuff, read into it before you start saying shit like that
@@tannerelliott9907 ??? So I'm suppose to read a guide instead of..*checks notes* watch THIS guide? That doesn't sound like a very good "guide"! lol
Also, I don't need to read anything more than I have. I know what mirror images does, HENCE why I said why are you calling it utility when it is either a dps cd or DR cd. Be wrong somewhere else, not in a video that's pretending to be a "guide". Bootlicker.
On Crit and applies to every class, yeah after 30% Crit you get 10% less stat. But Crit is random on that applied percentage. Think of this at the extreme level. If you have 50% Crit and 50%stat that directly improves damage 1 to 1 ration, than 1%Crit addition is not going to be felt as your likely to Crit anyways. While the damage increase is going to be there 100% of time.
Ie, fire mages care about criting but don't take Crit on items much because there spells by default Crit at times.
For frost the 33.3% is based on going over 1/3rd of the time criting in practice doesn't do much if anything.
@@jacoblionel4829 your reply was a whole patch later.
None of that matters to a beginner. He literally explains WHAT fingers of frost is. Reads spell tooltips. Players that need this beginner info dont give a damn about soft caps.
nobody have 33.34% crit because you will use versatility flask
