Thanks for this, ( and for all that you have done ) It's been a few years since I was last in Manuel Antonio or Quepos, and it looks like a lot of changes there since then.
Wow this is unrecognizable to me. I used to go there every year with my family during 1980-1988. You had to cross 3 rivers to get there, one pulled with a tractor, had to open the doors afterwards to get the water out. All roads were gravel, there were only 3 hotel options in Manuel Antonio : hotel Manuel Antonio (I believe its still there , it was the only one with 1 room with AC), ANEP cabins ( goverment public employees assoc cabins) and cabinas Manuel Antonio (very basic but were the only ones beachfront). The park entrace was through the beach and you could swim in the estuary , no crocs back then.
Hey man, thanks for the vid. As I was watching this video, I was looking at google maps to see what spots I can identify. Very helpful! I'm Looking to visit Manuel Antonio in 2024. Thanks again!
Quick question, what is the best way to travel from San Jose airport to Manuel Antonio? We'll be landing in the early morning and I'm not sure how I'll feel about driving a car after a red eye. 😂
Understandable 😂 Driving will be your cheapest option, but if you don't feel up to it then you could definitely book a private shuttle to get you from the airport to MA. You guys should come check out the beautiful beach town of Samara where we are and book a stay with us in one of our amazing Sea Casa Vacation Rentals! It's a must see here 😁
We are not sure as we only ever stayed at one place down there in 2017. We stayed at Si Como No and it was a nice resort but that was over 6 years ago.
@@TheDufresnes I would actually be very interested. I've been to Costa Rica once back in 2020 with a friend. We actually visited Manuel Antonio and stayed at Hotel California. I'm not sure how big Manuel Antonio is but are you familiar with the location and if so how far is it from you? I heard Jaco was the party area. Is it not safe?
We are located on the Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste, it's only an hour and 45 minutes from the Liberia airport. Manuel Antonio is 4 hours from us. Jaco is a seedy party town that even locals don't feel safe in
That is your opinion, which you are allowed to have. For some of us it has given options for food and lodging while enjoying the area. Try living in the positive and not the negative. Pura Vida

We completely forgot what it was like down by the beach! We definitely want to go and stay in that area

@@TheDufresnes how far is your place from the cool little street you were walking up?😂
Which street are you referring to?
The one that you were walking up the road and pointed out all the hotels and also the one made from shipping containers@@TheDufresnes
Great video
Thanks
This area...what hotels are nice to stay at in this area?
We are not sure as we only ever stayed at one place down there in 2017. We stayed at Si Como No and it was a nice resort but that was over 6 years ago.
I found a place through Vrbo so crossing my fingers it will be nice Thank you!@@TheDufresnes
Do you feel its very safe in Manuel Antonio?
Yes, as it is in all of Costa Rica. Like anywhere be aware of your surroundings and don't be out very late
@@TheDufresnes I'm a solo traveler, so a bit nervous to be on my own out of the country. Any recommendations?
@markbarron484 come stay with us in Samara, it's a super chilled laid back beach town. Everyone loves this area. Stay away from Jaco

Always really hot there
Visited there years ago, they sure have ruined what was a quiet beach side town.
