    What an interesting video build series.
    I have the day off today....I'm in the workshop airbrushing an AMT cab and watching your videos this morning. I will be following your videos with great interest and thank you for posting.

    Thanks for sharing your process. I appreciate the info on the Archer rivets and will give them a try.

    Thanks for the tips. I was going to give up on this kit after my unsuccessful attempts at getting the two halves of the cab together. I'm going to sand it and then use masking tape and super glue like you did.

    Thanks for a great explanation delivered simply and clearly. I’d be interested to see how it looks when built.
    What a pity AMT didn’t consider making the split line along the door back where there’s a natural parting. If you have a simple solution to moving the headlights to the correct height that would be interesting to see.

      I may do that in a future video. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

    This kit has been on the back of the bench because of the cab. 🤣 I bought the archer rivets. That's as far as I got. And I just read that archer is closing its doors. I'm in hopes that someone picks up where they leave off.

    That glue is MEK? haven't played with that for years, fun stuff just not healthy. That Freightliner is an an amazing design since it was AMT's first truck model. The cab work isn't much different than working with vac formed models, same methods used.

      Yes, that water thin glue is MEK.

      @@lotso69 I used to use that for clean aircraft parts, I think it's not allowed anymore, at least here in Canada. But I can get the "glue".

    Is it possible to get a cab from the older AMT kit that had a single piece cab? I had one a long time ago. Or maybe someone makes a resin cab for it?

    This is the kit that I have the Frieghtliner cabover I hate the way they kitted it up but it's not impossible to build obviously I have the Archer rivets just for this kit love Frieghtliner trucks period but it's the kit is the problem

    can you but the day cab on the dual axle frame?

  • @rickdee67
    @rickdee67 10 місяців тому

    Not horrific at all but definitely not for beginners, the seam in the cab and lack of parts numbers is the only real problem. Plus if you plan the edges of that cabinet, the interior won’t fit it’s already tight enough.

    This kit is an absolute nightmare. They need to do better on one of these in the future. Too much quesswork for a modern kit.

      Yep, I agree. The instructions aren't very clear on parts placement in a few spots. Oh and the fact that the parts aren't numbered doesn't help either (am I putting the correct part on here??)
