You all gave me a lot of options for my next video, and I hope you enjoy this! I really love Floor Jansen's voice; she is so good at everything needed for this Genre of music. I like that Romanticide felt so different from Ghost Love Score (I know I call it love story in the video..... :P oops). Wacken 2013 is like the "Holy Grail" for Floor aficionados. The planets were properly aligned, the crowd was epic, and Nightwish had their "A" game on.
The crowd was amazing because they're all time travelers that went back to see the epicness of that show for themselves, nobody in the crowd was from 2013
I think it's because they all were so happy and energized that the sudden inclusion of Floor mid tour worked out so well just a few months before and they got to show their new powers to the big summer festival crowds for the first time - with Wacken being the metal 'holy grail' adding to that.
Floor herself is bursting with energy and pride in a way that seems to be replaced by a more calm confidence on later tours
Definitely - and don't forget the work of Ville Lipiäinen and his team on the filming! One of the properly aligned planets whose contribution is often forgotten.
Also just to give you some behind the scenes action: My editing software completely stopped working when I sat down to edit this. So I had to figure out how to use a new software at 4am last night. So... Feel my labor of love.
I like genuine reactions however, if there is one song that you must look up the story and history behind it is “poet and the pendulum”. You don’t have to look up the lyrics or video, but the meaning behind the song is important.
There is just one rule in the Nightwish army, NEVER COMPARE FLOOR TO AMY LEE!!!!!!! :)

That keyboard screen was inspired by a monument to the Finnish national composer Jean Sibelius that is Helsinki Finland. For a while Nightwish opened their concerts with his "Finlandia" theme.
Floor actually wore two outfits during the 1 1/2 hour performance. She started off the 15 song set with long leather pants and later on switched to a leather skirt.
Yep, by seeing any of those outfits one can identify Wacken'13 videos within seconds, and depending which one of them (trousers/no trousers...:) you know whether its the first half or the second one...
Similar goes for other big shows, especially for Buenos Aires '18 (Decades world tour), once you have seen any of those videos believe me you WILL remember her outfit there :)
Speaking of which, Dead boy's poem performed there is imo the ultimate version of that song and breathtaking...
If you're into musical theatre you need to hear Floor do the Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort on Beste Zangers or the Nightwish version with one of their previous singers Tarrja Turunen from their End of an Era concert. They are both epic!
I personally also like the newer versions of that song with Floor and Marko a lot. I think Floor is even better than Tarja in that song. :-)

Yes…same concert as Ghost Love Score. From the same Wacken 2013 show, I’d recommend Song of Myself, Storytime, and Everdream. I think your “blind reaction” method is perfect. Keep doing what you’re doing. Aside from Nightwish, since you’re a theater person, you might enjoy “The Day That the World Breaks Down” by Ayreon. Ayreon is not a band, per se, up a musical project of Dutch composer/multi-instrumentalist Arjen Lucasson. All Ayreon albums are concept albums that tell a story, and he gets really top-notch vocalists from all over the world to sing the parts of the various characters. This particular video is really cool because Arjen narrates it via captions with insights about the different singers and the overall production.
Floor also has great covers of Alone (Heart), Shallow (LadyGaga) and a great duet of Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort.
If you want to hear more of Marko (Bass Guitar, Vocals), you should consider checking out Nightwish's Phantom of the Opera cover from their "End of an Era" concert in 2005. The concert also features the original Nightwish lead female vocalist Tarja Turunen instead of Floor. It would be a good way to acquaint yourself with Tarja and also get more of a sense of Marko's vocal abilities. (There's a Floor version of Phantom as well, though not with Nightwish, on a show called Beste Zangers in 2019.)

The guy with the nice voice is Marko Hietala. Floor-raid siren 8:51 - 9:01. Marko sings lead on many Nightwish songs. "The Islander", "While Your Lips Are Still Red" and the tribute to Pink Floyd "High Hopes". He also has work with Tarot and solo.

Nightwish live shows aside from Wacken '13: End of an Era '05, Monsters of Rock '15, Tempere '15, Wembley '16, Buenos Ares '18, Planet Rock Session '20... there are sporadic vids from others but those are the big ones. Wacken 13 simply had absolutely excellent audio engineering, so comes through as fantastic.

Absolutely super fun reaction!! Thank you so much for doing it!! Yes this was at the same festival as Ghost Love Score, which was the Wacken Open Air Festival in 2013 (pronounced as Vacken).
OH and about Jukka, the Drummer. Jukka (pronounced like YOU-kah) was one of the founding members of Nightwish, and yes he DID have Insomnia so bad that he was hospitalized because of it and nearly died from it. He had to step down from being Drummer for the band, and he actually hand picked his good friend and former Drum Teacher to be his replacement, and his name is Kai Hahto (first name is Kai, pronounced like sky, but Kai ). Kai took over being the Nightwish full time drummer in 2014, so shortly after Floor and Troy both joined the band as full-time members. BUT Jukka did not leave the Nightwish family. In fact Jukka is now CEO of the Nightwish Corporation, called THE OILY EMPIRE, and handles a lot of the behind the scenes management of Nightwish. The band members are the Board members, and Jukka is the CEO for THE OILY EMPIRE.
Oh also I totally agree in how you want to handle your reactions. I love that you go into them blind, but you also take suggestions and hints from Fans. Fortunately most of us in the Nightwish Army wont spoil it for you lol We will absolutely be here to help and enjoy the ride with you, but dont want to spoil the experience for you :)

Someone in the army mentioned that the 'organ' thing is actually a reference to the monument for the Finnish composer Sibelius, just passing on.
I'm sure someone has recommended it, but my favorite from this concert (Wacken 2013) is "Song of Myself." I highly recommend it. I also enjoy almost everything from their new album. In particular, I love "Pan." If you're interested in going further in this genre, you might try the band Epica. A good place to start might be "Sancta Terra" performed live at the Retrospect concert because they feature Floor Jansen as a guest singer alongside their normal singer, Simone Simons.

One of my favourite things to find and enjoy is music that gives me chills and goosebumps. I was cruising UA-cam recently and discovered a Russian talent show contestant that did just that, with one of the best, most unique voices I've heard in many years. Her delivery was nothing short of magical and I searched out more and more and more, and...more chills.
I was stunned to find that the first performance I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 17 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English and Arabic.
The covers she performed on that show are very popular on UA-cam. Many UA-camrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "Take On Me" and others.

I was at a meet-and-greet before a Nightwish concert. Tuomas is a huge Disney fan. I mean REALLY huge... his solo album was The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. Anyway, I asked him if the pipes around his keyboards were a reference to the pipe organ in Captain Nemo's cabin in the Disney version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. He looked thoughtful for a moment, then said no, he's just wanted something that looked steampunk, but that the pipe organ thing was a really interesting idea.
Hi from the UK. Just another day at the Nightwish office! There are few words. Epic performances with many layers. Total professionalism in every respect. Floor tells a great story through her vocal gymnastics and expressive body language. Great reaction and spot on analysis. Best wishes.
Just a little knowledge drop for ya: Wacken Open Air is one of the biggest, if not biggest, Metal Festivals in Europe. Multi-tage, multi-day festival that occurs in a little town of ~2000 people in Wacken, Germany (pronounced “Vacken”). So it’s no surprise you see multiple metal bands have video recordings when they get to play at this prestigious event. In the case of 2013, Nightwish. Was the main stage headliner for one of the evenings, performing for 82,000 people (82,000 outside of a town of 2,000 locals!). Wacken ‘13, Wembley ‘15, and Buenos Aires ‘18 were all recorded, mixed, and released as official live albums (you can find these exact audio versions on Spotify), so that’s why they are so highly recommended.

With Nightwish you will get all the fire, pyro, screen - and fireworks you can imagine - especially on the outdoor performances (Wacken and Tampere).
I would recommend "The Greatest Show on Earth" Tampere 2015 -!!! But - important!!! - remember to stay on the video until it is completely finished - the speaking afterwards are a very important part of the song!! 👍🤘🤘

haha, yeah people get real detailed about things on stage like the pipes in front of the Keyboards, in another Concert, there's a figure that looks like Groot that they mention. Yeah, that was Wacken, sometimes it's confusing cause when they start she's wearing pants then halfway through I guess they say she had some sort of wardrobe malfunction or something and switched to the skirt. You can actually tell which Concert you're watching by her outfits, Buenos Aires outfit is killer!!! But no, Wacken is the one most mentioned and I believe they did it in 2015 and 2018, but you also will find great and new songs from others like Tampere, Finland, Wembley Arena, England, Buenos Aires, and Mexico City too. They say she wasn't feeling well in Buenos Aires in 2015 but I thought she was great. Enjoy your journey.
Well, Symphonic metal allows them to take their music in several different directions.. They have the longer multipart scores with all that grand epic sound, like "Ghost Love Score".. But, they also have several of the more classic style full metal songs... and just about everything in between.. They even have songs with a bit of that Celtic folk/rock kind of vibe.. But, no matter the basic style of song they are going for, they will all have those signature symphonic elements that give the music that extra layered full, rich sound..
My fav song by them hands down. If you like the pyro react to the last ride in the same concert, the ending will blow you away
If you wish to watch Nightwish showing the history of the Earth, Try The Greatest Show On Earth at Tampere 2015. For another option work your way through their latest album Human Nature only available in lyric video form so far. It covers the development of every aspect of humanity.
Metal is about the music not the lyrics.. Music for me is what sounds great to my ears.. If the lyrics are great too.. perfect, but I'm in it for the sounds to my ears. Great reaction , thank you!

As mentioned in a previous comment Poet and the pendelum is a great song. I suggest you to cover this later. You should do some reading up on. Dont get me wrong, it is a great song also without the reading, but it gets better. You will also see the guitarist during the song having what looks lika a casual chat with Toumas... But it is him just checking up on his friend being okej, since it is a song in which he performs a virtual suicide.
There are a couple of Nightwish songs which becomes better, when you have the background story. Shoemaker is another.

I get the genuine reactions but when it comes to Nightwish, 2 songs absolutely have to be researched and with lyrics in order to understand it or you're completely depriving yourself of the full experience and the feeling of the songs. Im not saying watch it ahead of time. Im just saying look up what its about or you're only doing yourself and your reaction a disservice if you don't know what they're truly about. Only these 2 though.
#1) The Poet & The Pendulum (live at Wembley). It's insanely deep, personal and based on a real situation that happened. Basically the firing of the 1st singer. Its Tuomas lyrical suicide. Just trust me. Lyrics and research. Or the reaction wouldn't be genuine because you wouldn't know the reason or meaning.
#2) Master Passion Greed. THE HEAVIEST SONG OF NIGHTWISH. (There is no live version as they will never play it live for personal reasons. Same situation. Aimed at first singer but mainly her husband. Its angry af and their hardest track.)

Hello, I would like to see your reaction to the performances of Diana Ankudinova. Her amazing voice surprises everyone, she performed covers of the famous songs "Wicked Game", "Human", "Havana","Take on Me". So Tuomas likes to have the keyboard stand area setup to replicate a famous piece of art from Finland each tour. For this tour it was based on the Sibelius Monument in Helsinki.

As someone who enjoys theater, I'm sure Floor Jansen will entertain you for years to come as she studied musical theater, opera, 4 years at the Dutch Rock Academy and 2 years in the Conservatorium Tilburg.

Hopefully, if you ever get around to Poet and the Pendulum by Nightwish, you will listen to everyone who will - definitely - advise you to research the meaning of the song and why it came to be. Without that, you'll not get even half of the the experience of it. The rest of their catalog doesn't require that, but that one does.
