Martin is such a brilliant actor. When I first got hooked on the Doc Martin series, as an American I had no idea that he had been in comedy; the thought would never have occurred to me. He plays the stiff, reserved man so exceptionally well that I expected him to be a lot like his character. I was delighted to learn he is nothing at all like Dr. Ellingham ! Fantastic acting. And Caroline Catz is amazing. She makes me laugh, makes me weep with just a facial expression. Brilliant cast of artists on this show !
This was my mother's most favorite show. She loved it so much and always wanted us (her children ) to watch it. She past away last year unexpectedly and as it goes I came across it on Netflix and watched all the seasons from the beginning. Made me miss my Mom even more.I can finally understand why she loved it so much.I love it too.I wish I had seen it when she was alive . But I can't help but feel she knows I'm watching it now and it makes her happy.
My dad used to enjoy watching The Darling Buds Of May when he was alive it was only when i saw the re runs i realised why he enjoyed the series so much. It felt like he was there watching with me.
I agree with Maria, love it can't wait to see it! I saw the first 5 series on Hulu, and Season 5 was on there a lot earlier than our PBS had it. But no sign of Season 6 in Hulu so far. I may try one of the suggestions posted here.
These are great! I do hope you can find some more. I sure hope they do a Series 7 after the way they ended this! Have you heard if they renewed or not?
MClunesfan123 Oh yes! I had thought Martin said this was it! And then I couldn't believe how it ended. It was a good series - I still laugh when I think about their wedding day!
He wears his actual wedding ring on his right hand when he's playing an unmarried character. He's done it many times. A romantic gesture to his wife, I believe.

I have heard that S7 is on! Yay! It would be horrible if they left us hanging after the finale of S6.

Why is he wearing his wedding ring, if he isn't married in the serie??
