Sorry for the long wait. Had a lot going on and, honestly, doing the highlights for this boring game was not a priority. It's a sad truth that this 27-6 game was more competitive than the average playoff semifinal. This playoff system has been a total disaster for college football. I plan to keep making videos, but the pace will probably be slower than in the past. I'm just not nearly as interested in college football as I used to be due to the playoff, conference realignment, NIL, transfer free agency, etc. It seems like that's the case for most people, because viewership is way down on television and on every CFB UA-cam channel, including mine. Bama Rewind is still important to me, because I've put so much time into it over the years. But I'm sure many of you will agree that it's kind of a tough time to be a college football fan right now.
I really appreciate what you do; thank you for sticking around. I'm still very interested in watching (Bama) CFB and the teams that orbit Bama, vying for the throne. But yeah I agree with you, NIL and the Playoffs are turning CFB into Diet NFL and I hate that :(
I will always love Alabama football, but you are right in everything you said. The biggest issue with NIL is once SCOTUS ruled in favor of it, no regulations or rules were set up. Now it’s next to impossible to try to regulate it after the fact and even harder to enforce future rules with the NCAA having zero power. All the issues you mentioned have driven many college basketball head coaches into early retirement. It won’t be long until it hits college football. Thank you so much for what you do. I know it is just a game, but watching these videos, especially the ones from the mid 80’s through 2000, take me back to my childhood. I guess it is corny, but those videos, even some of the losses, bring back very fond memories of simpler times.

Had bama passed more they would've played into cincy's strength of good pass defense, cincy just didn't play the run enough because they were looking for alabama to pass it more often. Bryce was looking rough that game and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if there would've been more interceptions from him. So saban being a good coach decided nah, we can't commit turnovers bc we'll lose so we'll attack the natural weakness of a 3-3-5 and its the run game. Solid game. lots of strategy

That did not work as well as he wanted so he got bailed out by 3 blocked passes that would have had a 14 point swing in favor of Cinny. Basically every other semifinal has been over by the half. The average margin of victory is 21 points. Not excited for them to expand the playoff so that we can get even more frequent and more lopsided blowouts.
That’s what happens when you let teams like ND and Cin in. I get that their regular season win/loss is there, but when you play a trash schedule all year you end up gettin in on false hopes. Cinn was just another team that had no business gettin in the top 4.
Most college games are lopsided blowouts. Only 3/8 finals were decided within one score, so it’s not like the BCS model would have been better. On the contrary, 6/16 finals teams and 3/8 winners were 3 or 4 seeds, so the playoff did make a difference
It’s even deeper than that. It’s Alabama blowing people out. The only exceptions were Oregon blowing out FSU/LSU vs Oklahoma. And this past year Georgia vs Michigan. It honestly makes the regular season pointless. No one beating Alabama except for the rare appearance of a good UGA, LSU, Clemson, or Ohio State team. College football is too predictable. Hopefully these NLI deals and super conferences will spread the recruiting talent across more teams

We lost the Natty but still won the SEC so still very proud of the team and achievements just had some unfortunate injuries to some key players but that's football for ya

They were clearly overmatched, but they deserved to be there more than some teams that have made the playoff in the past. I also think they were better in 2020 than in 2021.

Man, Williams was Bama's biggest playmaker on offense that year. Sucks he went down in the big rematch against Georgia for the national championship. Perhaps Georgia still wins but losing him after already losing Metchie was to much to overcome against a motivated Georgia team.

Alabama just happens to have to luxury of completely changing their offense for one game with their super deep roster. Most teams wouldn't even try doing that for a playoff game and play into Cincy's strengths and high INT scoring defense.

Cincy had no right being in the top 4. This was a total sham based on them winning against Notre Dame. Cincy was taught a valuable lesson. I can’t agree. If it is expanded with byes for the top 4 teams you will get some very good first round matches between some really good teams.

Cincy had no right being in the top 4. This was a total sham based on them winning against Notre Dame. Cincy was taught a valuable lesson. You had better bring your balls with you when you think you belong at the table with Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, The Ohio State, etc.
Cincy could have saved themselves this huge embarrassment if they would have played like they belonged, they didn't.
