This is the first episode that I cried at, the moment Rainbow Dash started singing at Scootaloo I just completely lost it. I couldn't stop crying for like ten minutes the first time I watched it lol. And now every time I watch it it still brings tears to my eyes. Weird how them getting their Cutie Marks affected me but not making me cry, them mentioning the fact that the Apple parents are indeed dead did get to me but didn't make me cry, but Rainbow Dash starting to sing to Scootaloo made me cry. I think with everything that the episode put in and then adding to Rainbow Dash Singing, Rarity Singing and Applejack singing to their respected sisters or sister figures I just lost it. And a great way to keep them still being Crusaders. I really want them to be called by the Map in season 6, that would be awesome! Great reaction. :)

I love watching these Australian Bronies reactions because you can tell how invested they are in the show and the characters. This was a monumental episode too. All in all, MLP: FIM is not just a mere "kids show". It's a show anyone can truly enjoy.
I agree, they are truly invested in the show and while it may have started as a show for kids, it has reached out to everyone. It's a show that has made people laugh, cheer, cry, feel proud, to gain friends, and more. Any show that can do ALL that is truly a very special show that'll be long remembered.

I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t react to this episode. It had just come out and I was in the mall I worked at waiting for my now ex-fiancée to get off of work when I saw it. I get more emotional every time I see it and watch reactions and your reactions easily mirrored mine.
I saw the CMC get their cutie marks...I was so proud of them, Fluttershy, my older cousin, writes to me about them and her friends and told me how hard they work their flanks to get their cutie marks. I cried when I saw them get their cutie marks 😂

I still love this episode and I will never understand anyone who doesn't (Looking at you Lily Peet). I know it could have been even bigger, giving everyone of the Crusaders an own, special episode with the Mark as the reward, but it makes so much sense to get them together, because they acted like a group since the beginning (to find their cutie marks) and they were definied as one. And that doesn't contradict the idea of a "special talent", because they have two cutie marks in one to be exact: one for the CMCs (the shield with the colours) and one for the special talent in the middle. And speaking of "own episode": all of them had one of those: Bloom and Gloom, Sleepless in Ponyville and For Whom the Sweetie Belle toils, where they all faced their different fears of getting a cutie mark and overcoming those fears thanks to Princess Luna (her best episodes in my opinion). So they all had a chance to shine and were ready to earn those cutie marks and this was one of the best ways to do it: to reform their long standing opponents Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon and to get the final piece of their Cutie Mark: the talent to help other fillies to find theirs (later reflected in Pear Butter's talent, where she helped Mrs Cake). Speaking of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon: it really came full circle with them. In the beginning, they were the popular ones and the CMCs were the outcasts, AB even lost her last friend without a cutie mark during their first real episode with all of them. Over time, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon lost so often against the CMCs or were put down, that in this episode, finally, they were the ones without friends, losing even eachother. Blaming it on a dominant mother was a clever idea, but it puts a bad light on Filthy Rich, who wasn't really framed as a bad pony until then. But when he is the busy and successful one, he might not see the big picture. I really hope that we get some follow-up episodes with the CMCs and especially with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, so they can really earn the reformation and redeem themselves for the last couple of years. Well, maybe in Season 9 :P
This my favourite episode so far (have not seen all of season 5), diamond tiara is shown much better, back story....sort of, musical, cmc, pip squeak and cutie marks obtained. Season 5 just kept getting better and better with no bad episodes at all (well except brotherhooves social in my opinion and maybe whatever's past episode 20). But this episode....my god .... how do you top this? In my opinion cmc adventures, lightning dust returns or a lesson on disability's. Liquid pride for most people here.....except me....and I have a lot of liquid pride.

That was one of my LEAST favorite episodes of the show at the time. I hated their Cutie Marks design (and it never really grew on me, I just accepted their existence), and was sorta skeptical about CMC definitive arc. Well, you know. Time passed and now it's my "THE most underrated MLP episode ever". I like it so much more now. Besides, just look at how this episode makes people so happy! Swee-eet Celestia!

What helped really bolster this episode was that the ending was kept secret from the fans. It wasn’t ruined like Princess Twilight was.
