HI there, I had error C249F about 3 years ago. Mercedes dealer provided an update to the software, which removed the code from car. The C249F code has returned 3 years later (white text). I would like to know if following this procedure will reset the counter, or extend the counter? Will it mean this procedure fail if the unit is too worn/old, indicating I need to replace it?
Hello, the purpose of this solution is to reset the brake counter. If the pump is physically worn-out, it needs to be replaced.
Why do Mercedes E cars get 25 warranty on the SBC pump in the USA ? And in Europe NOW nothing ??? I wonder what would happen if you toke this before a judge.
My thoughts exactly ! i live in Ireland and my '04 w211 has the same error message. Took it to my local mechanic for a diagnostic scan, came up with c235c code. To fix this cost almost more than the car is worth! I don't understand how the recall was not extended to Ireland???
here in the US we can have our SBC pump replaced for free. Is there a known way to create the exceeded operation time so I can have my pump replaced? thank you

just change it (sbc)... mercedes actually pay for the most in that repair... in denmark cheaper than 4 tires ;)
Not everybody lives in Denmark, some of us don't even have a dealer in our African countries mate

hello, can I ask if this system can reset Sbc eliminating all errors including the C235C error?
Hi! The procedure shown in this video is limited to resetting the counter of brake presses, which shows an error after around 500 000 of brake presses. As far as I know, C235C error means no pressure in the brake system. For safety reasons, we recommend a visit to an authorised service center in order to replace the pump.

How can I understand that there is no pressure? I made the diagnosis alone, and it turns out error c235c I tried to delete it but reappears. The error is white, not red, If I have to change the pump, the cost is about 2000$.
I thought of repairing it myself, replacing the brushes in the SBC motor. And then try to remove the error, without resorting to changing the entire braking system.
You should find out what error C235C informs about. As far as we know, it informs of the lack of pressure in SBC pump. Surely, there is an option to regenerate the pump, but we wouldn't want to advise in this matter. In the end, we are just IMMO experts ;)

I did the analysis and I found error c235c, I tried on the online sites to regenerate the pump but from what I found you have to disassemble the pump and change the worn brushes, then use the c3 or c4 software or its Xentry program. I have the skills to do these jobs, but I need to know exactly how to replace the pump sbc, to remove it you have to disable it and so far we are ok.
But then to replace the pump sbc how do you do? which procedure is necessary?

Unfortunately this doesn't work at the actual w211. But I've done this other w211. What could be the problem? Thanks
Read the error codes and analyze what the problem is. If the pump is damaged, replace it. If only a counter then it should work using this procedure. If it does not work and the pump is OK, make sure you have followed all the steps in this procedure correctly.
quality tires i mean...
dont reset it can suddenly fail fast... if you need reset let mercedes do it if they say ok if you can trust them... actually a lot of accidents world wide because people just reset it...
