I agree with you about Skylar being our backup . But I think Tannehill would be the best backup. If you remember, when Tannehill was playing he spent most of his time on his ass. Not the same team now. I think he would be fine now.
Man he was the most sacked qb all them years but still always got back up and kept slinging it!! Took years b4 he actually got hurt always liked him for that.
He got sacked a lot behind a good o line. We don’t have one of those right now. 😂.

Tua's size has nothing to do with his playing!! Tua is 6'1 and Doug Flutie who was 5'8 way under 200lbs and was a running QB isnt near the size of Tua and our fans are making a huge deal about Tua's size. When here Tua is taller than Flutie and the Saints former QB Drew Brees and Tua said that himself as well as other teammates. Tua lost weight so he can do the things he did against Arizona Cardinals a few seasons ago where he faked out a corner etc. Tua can run the football better than majority of the QB1's the Dolphins have had in the history of the Miami Dolphins. Tua is trying to change the Miami Dolphins history by being able to run the football when needed to not like a Mahomes or Lamar Jackson but enough to where the defenses have to respect Tua and then respect Tua's ability to pass the football to whom ever it maybe. Wheather its Waddle, Tyreek, TEs Jonnu, Forstad, etc of the TEs. The Washington's, any of the RB's ( Wright, Achane, Mostert, Ingold), so tired of people talking about Tua's height!! Doug Flutie was 5'8 and was successful in the NFL why cant Tua be at 6'1!!?? In FACT TUA IS SUCCESSFUL AT 6'1!!! With or Without weapons Tua has proven he can win and has had a winning record with talent or without talent!!!
In 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 the coaching staff was terrible and the talent on the teamwas Tua made the talent look like STARS until those WRs went to another team then when those players didnt make those teams and they werent in the NFL anymore should tell you a lot on how good Tua was in those 2 seasons 2020-2021 and 2021-2022!! Tua having a winning record in both them seasons!!! SMH!!! The oline is another story!!! The oline win rate was 31st and 32nd in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022!!! Dont think theres a rookie thats faced this challenge and be as successful as Tua has in these past 4 seasons...

The Dolphins have gotten practice squad players and work with the starters and worked with Tua who has elevated their playing level. Prime example Tyreek has had 1700 yds receiving one season and 1799 yds receiving the next which Tyreek never had before!!! Just saying!!! Another example Waddle had 3 1000+ yds receiving which nobody has ever had with this ORGANIZATION!!!

Good discussion, including the comment of the day. I didn’t care for Mike White from day one but I guess Fins think more highly of him than we do. Either way, I hope it’s just 2 QBs on roster and one more on practice squad so they can keep an extra WR or OL.
We need both. We always talk about time in Mcd's system. At this point, it's better to keep both.
lazy is a nice way to put it, it's laughably ignorant. tua is definitely not the most physically talented, but he is elite or close to it in the other traits. and in almost all cases, those other traits are more important than the physical. the read thing is probably an even dumber comment. i hope we pay him soon and get this crap done.
Now that all three QBs have been in McDaniel’s system for two years training camp should really tell us who should stay and who should go. They all should be well versed in it!

i been sayin skyler is the better #2 been under the regime for 2 years plus he had is moment against the bills in the playoffs so i believe all skyler needs is more on field experience so he's not nervous

I 100% agree about Skylar. I think he's got potential, but suffers from getting 3rd string/practice squad reps while bums like Teddy and White waste valuable backup reps and time with the coach. Just have Skylar be the backup, and have a rookie be the 3rd string.

Perhaps Miami is just letting Skylar watch, listen and learn without any pressure at all. His Job is to Watch.. Listen.. Learn.. and he may well be his best QB by that means as apposed to 'getting reps' in slop time. I think even every starting QB ever interviewed says they learned while having to sit bc injury etc.

Comment of the day: *Trigger warning to my fellow Fins Fans.* Should Mike McDaniel be criticised more for the turnover at Defensive Coordinator and the general sub par performance of his defense during his tenure as well as the fact that his offense went silent in December 2023 when injury had decimated our pass rush? I think he is an awesome coach and he is doing well but surely there are some questions he needs to answer but I haven't really heard anyone asking or holding him accountable.

Remember the Ravens game under Flores? Brissett was injured and Tua came in. If Tua could come in, why didn't he start. The story was that Flores held him out 2 games because Tua said he felt ready to play and Flores took that as an insult. Flores was pretty vindictive. It seems whatever Tua was able to do in those years was in spite of Flores.

Miami's defense is the only reason that game was close. Fumble recovery TD plus 3 drives starting in Buffalo territory, 2 of those already inside field goal range within the 30.
60% of his throws were incompletions, and over 25% were evaluated as bad throws. Under 5 yards/attempt, a 23.3 QBR, and 44.7 passer rating are horrendous numbers. If Miami had pulled off the victory, it would have been in spite of him, not because of him.
Swap the defensive performance with what the injured unit from 2023 managed in KC and that Buffalo game would have been an absolute blowout

I went back last night and watched Tua's tape in college. He was so good, created time with his legs, arm strength was good enough, scan the field well...he doesnt look like the same QB in the NFL. Hopefully the weight loss and frustration of being told to throw the ball away will get him playing like Alamaba Tua. Wish they would make him play on 5th yr option so Fins can finally evaluate if hes the guy for sure.

You are right but, I would want to see everyone’s stats against good teams vs the others. So how did the running backs fare or the linemen or defense or specific positions across the board. If it’s just Tuas stats that suck that’s one thing but if the whole team laid an egg, that’s another. If it’s the whole team, we’re just overmatched or out coached.
