You gotta visit Fort MacArthur in San Pedro - not only spectacular views from the Korean Friendship bell adjacent, but the bunkers are pretty darn cool. And just like no one pronounces Los Angeles with a long ‘O’ or a hard ‘G’, no one pronounces San Pedro with a soft ‘e’.
Wow, Los Angeles is my hometown and I have never heard of this place. You should do a video about the disappeared suburb immediately west of the Los Angeles international airport.
miss this channel so much I remember watching the Hawthorne abandoned mall vid which was right by my house it made me appreciate the history behind lost things in LA so much, always treated with so much care. thanks tom! hope ur doin good
Tom, don't worry, you're pronouncing it as it should be pronounced...in Spanish. Lol. Living in California and hearing every city's name pronounced as if they were an English word is funny. Lovin the vids!
Miguel...while its not correct Spanish...its been "Peeeedro" since before my grandfathers time...i was born and grew up there as my folks did..even my hispanic pedro buddies pronounced it peedro
well done, i like your confidence, brevity, and editorial frame. Here's hoping your cameraman buys a monopod for the establishing shots . . . again, well done
That's how you pronounce it if you're a Spanish speaker. The locals aren't too keen on the actual pronunciation but it's how you actually are supposed to say it.
+Raymond Ornelas show is like a twilight episode or something ... i think the show ended at episode 6 .... and the ending scene is in my city .... at this place sunken city San Pedro ... there more but its just crazy talk , lets hope
I would been interested in watching the video but the music was so bad and did not go away while you were talking that i just closed the page. not only horrible, but not ver LA!
"It's not San Pay-dro. It's San Pee-dro. You gotta go long with the EEE." - Nick Terry

Love all of Tom's videos. This series has inspired me to search out these sorts of hidden treasures in my own city. Thank you.
Tom, we hope to see more of the historical treasure of San Pedro in your videos. There is much more there to discover.

Great work Tom, Tim, Derrick, and Keleigh! You're making a Bostonian feel the need to visit LA soon.
