    The big thing that's easy to love about Gshock style is how easy it is to convince the spouse you've "had it forever". "What? You were with me when I bought this, remember? I've been wearing it all the time for five years! Oh, all I did was add the other colored band. Six bucks." See? That easy.

      ah yes let's teach the old LIVE IN FEAR of the Wife thing to Men.. i ain't lying about nothin.. if i buy a watch i buy a watch.. does my wife wiggle out of her purse purchases??? of course not! so why am i gonna have fear over what watch i buy? a watch generally lasts 5-10 years or more . a woman's purse lasts ONE SEASON! and they cost several hundred dollars depending on the brand.. so if she can buy her stuff . guess what! i can buy mine, guns, watches, ammo, whatever.. come on TAC-DO! MAN UP! teach that instead of fear... no need to lie to anyone about anything.... it means your afraid when you lie.

      Bryan Calhoun hell yes to this whole post. My ex-wife (and this was among the chief reasons that she is my EX-wife. Got on my shit about these purchases (we were financially fine btw) as well. I never let it affect me. She bought her purses and make-up from sephora and her other stuff. And would try to deplete the "slush fund" budget with all of that (selfish-reason number two) and that is how she would try to prevent me from buying things for me. Joke was on her because I just started pulling massive amounts of OT and the money I made on overtime was my own personal slush fund. It grew to twice what our collective one was and she got very angry with me about it when she saw the new gun, new watches, ammo, gear...etc. (entitled-reason3). If you are afraid of getting something and your wife seeing it: you A) probably can't ACTUALLY afford to have it and you KNOW IT.
      B) your wife is a bitch
      Or C) your wife is the boss of you.
      In the last two points my best advice would be to cut your losses and find someone worthy of your Remaining S.S funds when you inevitably die before them. 🤣🤣🤣

      well said. Money should'nt separate husbands and wives if it's a contest too see who gets the most crap . usually thats women anyways . and what do they end up doing? in a few years selling all their expensive hand bags in a garage sale anyways.. when have u ever bought a good watch or a gun at a garage sale? the answer is like 95% never . because MEN DON'T SELL THEIR HARD EARNED COOL GEAR . WE USE IT! OR KEEP IT IN CASE WE DO EVER NEED TO USE IT! the timeless value of a good quality watch, gun, truck, or sleeping bag or tent. or eye wear { Oakleys etc..} . is an INVESTMENT not a fashion statement.. what women do is try to look cuter than their co-worker.. men want to buy cool gear then go out on hunting trips, fishing exxpeditions and off roading excursions and get that gear tested in the mud with their friends. they dont want to just look at it and say it's so pretty . but one day i will sell it.. nope . men do not think that way.. we're all about performance. NOT JUST SHOW! WE WANT SOME GO! women . never can grasp that for some odd reason..

    This GG1000 Casio Mudmaster is outstanding. It will command attention too so if you don't want that, get something else. But if tactical, rugged good looks and functional quality to back it up is intriguing to you, check it out. This version omits the AB/Solar/Atomic functions to save cost but most dudes won't care. If you're not sure it's right for you [size], use my links above to a "starter Mudmaster" before stepping up to the Casio. A year of testing in both land and sea however showed this GG1000 to be totally worth its cost. HOF. -Lt Col Nutnfancy

    You sir, have turned me into a watch addict. In five months I've purchased 5 Casios, my 5th one today, the PRW3500Y, $169.00, the one you featured in your past videos, the orange banded with the orange ring in the bezel. It will be here from Amazon tomorrow. I was on the fence between it and the GG1000, but wanted the solar & atomic features. ABC features are nice to have too :)
    Thanks, really enjoying your channel.

    Dear nutnfancy I have just moved to Florida from California and now face myself wondering about modifying my survival kit with items that would help out in a hurricane/evacuation scenario. I think a set of videos based around different natural disasters and environments would be so helpful to many people. One thing I have recently considered was adopting a bump helmet, this would protect me from almost anything other than bullets which I'm not really worried about in a hurricane mainly flying debris yet I cannot find a lot of information about the quality and applicability of these type of headgear. Thank you for all of the advice I've ever gotten from you I have bought a lot of gear based on your reviews. Stay awesome!!

    Ordered this watch (GG1000-1A5) on a Black Friday special last year, and I was admittedly a little worried about the size, (I don't have the nickname "Scrawny Bastard" for nothing), but honestly, it's on the large side of perfectly acceptable. This is an excellent watch for every day use around the jobsite, farm, etc. due to the thing being built like a tank. As for this watch being a little lacking in the extra features, I would have no need for an altimeter on an average day. I would say that a compass (which this watch has) is the only thing beyond the usual watch functions that could come in handy on a regular basis. If I'm out hiking and might need all of the extras, I'm just going to wear my Suunto. Seriously, for a decently priced, absolutely badass looking watch, you can't beat this thing.

    Compass is wonderful and I use often on my rangeman. Compass is good for underwater nav. In all an ABC watch is worth it if you actually use them. Also the rangeman has the same band/strap/retention as the GG1000 and I find that it does not cause me to sweat at all. I also wear my watch one adjustment loose. As much as I like an analogue face the rangeman was the best watch purchase I ever made.

    Love Gshock watches, wouldn't buy any other. Awaiting the release of the top end Master of G in a digital only option. Really not into analog or analog/digi types. Currently running a Mudmaster which is great with compass, moon and thermometer options. Would love however a tide, altimeter and barometer option. That would be my perfect watch!

    Hey nutn I'm digging the music again I miss it. I love this watch mine hasn't come off my wrist for well over a year and a half and it's very tough. I have a very labor intensive job and it gets beat up and is around tons of dirt and dust plus I've done tons of water stuff with it on just about every weekend this summer from snorkeling to surfing to fishin it's holding up fine. The only problem I've ever had with it is one day in winter it was about 5 degrees and there was a little bit of condensation on the inside of the watch. Didn't affect function but it was noticable.

      cmarchi128 I live in GA and have 2 Casio "atomic time" watches, a Protrek and a g-shock and they both sync every time I put them at a window. I place them in the most western pointing window in the house (since the signal is coming from CO). The ONLY time one hasn't synced is one night when there was a big lightning storm going on.

    My EDC watch is the Omega Speedmaster.
    The Speedmaster was Apollo astronauts choice for EDCWM - "Every Day Carry While on the Moon" . I'm not talking worn inside the spacesuit or only inside the vehicle, but literally worn exposed to vacuum with a giant velcro strap tied around the spacesuit.
    It is therefore good enough for me :D.

    • @thedemoninmybrain
      @thedemoninmybrain 7 років тому

      GTrain81 the speedmaster shattered, dumbass. They had to go with the back-up watch which was the true hero: a Bulova

    • @GTrain81
      @GTrain81 7 років тому

      I think the story was that the dome had come off on one of the later Apollo missions. In a later mission, one of the astronauts did use a Bulova Chronograph which he had agreed to "try" for the company.
      To me the incident you refer to does not diminish the watch's achievements. It was worn on the surface of the moon on Apollo 11, and it was used for all the critical burn calculations and timings during Apollo 13 to save the crippled craft.
      (But don't get me wrong, Bullovas are awesome as well).

      +Some dude We've got a tough solar that had to be re-batteried too. Solar is rad but I worry you just defer the batt cost into a future date. I wanna say it was pretty pricey to get a place to do it and add another gasket to it, so you could do it yourself cheaper, maybe $20 or so. If you have the watch long enough to need to swap the batt then you're getting your money's worth anyway. -Doodle

      Brian Easterwood Kinda overrated really. We don't put out the good snacks until the cool kids get here. It's aight tho, the evite said this party ends at "?" So you know it's gonna be radical. Or fly, or whatever the cool kids are gonna call it.

      Haha "good snacks"! Just seems that nutn always posts videos while I'm at work and I chime in after a few hours gone by, then I always scroll through comments to see others opinions on the topic. Did not realize how early I jumped on this vid till I saw how few comments there was 😆

      I actually don't mind the Watch reviews but I wish Nutn would branch out from Casio a little more. I've seen him carry an iphone in previous videos, hell, if you're going to review watches why not review the apple watch? I wore Casios when i was a teenager and at that time cell phones were a rarity, we actually needed a time piece back then. How about reviewing something with modern functionality besides "tells the time and the date" with a cheesy 80s looking LCD display.

      +mju34 That one is incoming. Citizen, seiko, etc. too. The channel will mostly focus on sub-$300 quality stuff that's on the field/dive end of the style spectrum. I'd love it if he told me to grab an omega! In a world of phones, watches have use for those in certain jobs. Seems like anyone who works with their hands likes to have one, nice being able to see the time if you're wearing oily/bloody gloves, etc. depends on the end user. For a graphic designer, it's worthless. To an emt, it's essential. I wouldn't time out pulse by pulling my iphone out in front of a pt, so a watch would do it. -Doodle

    iv'e been using G shock watches since early 1990's . and iv'e always loved em.. but . on Military bases they generally sold for under 100$ . no matter what version you wanted they were always reasonable in cost . usually about 75$ but too see that generally the SAME WATCH has morphed into an expensive over priced tool like now? man oh man the INFLATION! good Lord . 700$ . for a G-SHOCK?!?!?! lol . again great watches great performance tough cool looking etc.. but come on Casia!! u guys also offer the pathfinder series with many of the same features as these g shocks and iv'e seen those at costco for like 150$ . same manufacturer Casio . so why do the G-shocks command so much more $$$$$$$ . ???? can u explain that? it's . WINDOW DRESSING!!! litteraly it's the same internal's and electronics and features . but 4 times the price?!?!?! ha . ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...
