Imagine having Portal 2 gameplay features in G-Mod. The gels, the portal gun, the hard light bridges e.t.c. would be so fun to play around with. Can't wait to see how this mod goes, if you're still working on it!
I was just seeing the games i could play in gmod (half life 2, portal 1, half life source, etc.) and this looks nice that it finally gets a little bit of support!
I would love to see this be released one day! I am way too aware of the terrors of trying to use a portal 2 map in Gmod (Old Aperture's map has completely crashed my old laptop on multiple occasions.)

Closest i could find was one that replaces the vscript loading functionality with lua files so if you wanna get it to do smth from a vscript file, you'll have to rewrite it in lua. It also has a few of the objects in portal 2 coded but it's still buggy as hell
Wait i just realized, you're the other guy who was making gmod portal 2 map support. Do you mind if i ask you some questions since I've been interested in support for portal 2 in gmod and have wanting to help with stuff related to it.
@@QuackerMusic It's hard to say. - The biggest problem is performance, it's bad - Garry's Mod is based on Source SDK 2013 Multiplayer and unlike the newer ones (Portal2|CSGO) does not have a number of rendering optimizations. - Lua itself is not best choice because there are calls to the native API. That is, it is assumed that you need to write it at the native level in the form of a module, but it is not so easy and very costly and I just do not have a clear idea how to do it. - There's not much you can do with the features that GLua provides. You can't do proper paintmaps/blobs, proper portals with integration with player, and etc. - Garry's Mod is kinda dead and abandoned by the developers. Small things and fixes it's not considered as huge deal. Something worthwhile will not appear in the game and Rubat (the only one from Facepunch who maintains the game) do not want to implement a lot of garrysmod-requests (for example, mapbase shaders&features or ports from newer branches). Or even port GMOD to CSGO branch :/ - Basically I've scrapped project 2-3 times. The more I learned about (G)Lua, the more not satisfied with the engine, the attitude of the game, and the possibilities that it gives. So nothing to release at this point, sadly.
