If I'm correct Larson led 474 out of the 500 laps. It was one of the most dominant performances in recent memory. He took the lead early and never let it go. Was awesome to see him celebrate with his son in victory lane also.
So the next race is at Kansas, Talladega is October 6th. In a few weeks. And I believe the Kansas race starts at 10:30 pm in the UK. It is a night race in America unfortunately. But Talladega is always a daytime race so you won't have to miss that one
Fun fact When Leigh or whatever his name is said Ryan Truex that wasn't a made up name Martin has a younger brother called Ryan who I think races the same number in the Xfinity Series
I was in the marching band for CU vs Baylor, I did my best to catch this race between when we had to play. All I saw was Larson leading for the whole time lol. I caught all the important laps so I was just happy to see some of the race
@@ExploringTheSmoke I play trumpet. I have my champ 4 picks set as reddick, Larson, Byron and bell. Sadly given his history at Phoenix I have bell winning this year
Little bit late but playoff points: 1.Larson +39 2.Bell +24 3.Reddick +20 4.Byron +14 5.Blaney +11 6.Hamlin +7 7.Elliot +5 8.Logano +4 Play-off Bubble 9.Cindric -4 10.Suarez -6 11.Bowman -7 12.Briscoe -7 Brad Kesolowski, Martin Truex, Ty Gibbs, and Harrison Burton were knocked out in the round of 16 Larson Led 462 laps out of 500 this race and gained 60 points this race which is the max points you can get
If this were a full season points format, Larson's dominant performance at Bristol would give him a 19 point advantage over Tyler Reddick and 20 points on Chase Elliott in 3rd. Christopher Bell would be 62 points back and forth before we even reach Phoenix, we might even have an actual four man fight for the title in a non-playoff format!
And yes. You've been spoiled. The 2000s had some great racing, and then, in 2010s, it got alot more boring and they made "phantom cautions" to spice things up. The last 3 years had really reminded me why i liked this sport with great finishes and fun storylines. I waiting for the next couple weeks when playoff pressure and tempers led to pit road fights. I think that might make this season perfect. Plus Byron winning the championship
LaJoie wrecked again. But this time he did not take anyone with him. I do not mind one driver dominating. But still found this the most boring race in a long time. The only thing that changed the top ten was when a mistake happened in the pits. The Kyle Larson 500 did make a show of the playoffs and seeing who advances.
Bristol used to be a proper track. The bottom was the best way to go and if you were too slow, the car behind moved you up the track. This car and track type dont mix and its because it drives to well.
I noticed that you mentioned that you’ve encountered a lot of people on the internet who don’t like Bubba Wallace - hopefully they haven’t got you under the wrong impression about him, that he’s a dirty driver or a bad person etc! Unfortunately, the big reason a lot of old school, traditionalist fans don’t like him is simply because he’s the only driver in the series who isn’t white, to put it bluntly. Naturally of course, the people who hate him for those reasons will always deny it, and try to give other reasons as to why they don’t like him, but a common theme I’ve noticed is that the ‘other reasons’ they provide to justify specifically disliking Bubba, apply to just about every single other driver in the sport just as much, if not more. In reality, he’s a great race car driver and a super down to earth, respectable guy who gets INSANE levels of scrutiny and criticism every week from that (unfortunately large) group of particular NASCAR fans, over things that equally apply to pretty much everyone else in the sport. He’s by no means the ‘horrible person’ or the ‘violent and reckless’ driver that those certain people desperately try to make him out to be. But yeah, as a new fan to the sport whose still learning about all the drivers, hopefully all that nonsensical, mindless Bubba hate that’s quite easy to come across on the internet hasn’t given you the wrong impression of him!
@@burnsyp13 I haven't listened to the nay sayers, some of the hate I've seen towards hims has been somewhat dis-colourful, I did read that he played up to media attention about the garage pull ropes being nooses and I just found that to be in bad taste, I have hatred towards him personally, he's a good driver I'm not disputing that, but I've also seen him get into it a fair few times for no real reason haha
@@ExploringTheSmokeYeah that’s fair haha, he can definitely get a little hotheaded when he gets rubbed the wrong way on track, like the incident with Larson at Vegas a couple of years ago, or the door banging with Bowman after the race at Chicago. Glad you’ve not listened to any of that baseless, blind hatred though. He’s a super consistent and competitive driver, very much on the same kind of level as guys like Bowman, Buescher, Chastain, and, in recent years, Busch and Truex, yet you’ll see people (particularly on Twitter) genuinely believing that he should be ‘fired by his team’ and ‘kicked out of NASCAR’ because he’s ‘not good enough’ 🤣 Absolutely wild stuff
