your comment sounds very condescending. not every people can afford microwave. and baking cakes on stove is nothing new. if you can do it properly, the outcome is always great.
I tried following this but even after 45 minutes for a cake which was lesser than half kg, I think, the center of my cake didnt rise at all. What can I do in this case?
First, need to bake it even more till it rises and when you insert the toothpick in the centre of the sponge, it comes out clean. Second, hope you are making it with tried and tested recipe. Ingredients should be in proper quantities.
Preheating on low to medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes is 1st and very important step then 2nd step to keep on low flame till the toothpick inserted in the centre of the sponge comes out clean. 3rd, recipe must be correct. Nothing more or less..

Hi, fill the batter till half of the utensil only..not more than that and if it is not cooked completely, you need to keep it for more time for baking and when the toothpick or knife inserted in the centre, comes our clean then it will be baked completely.
Yes but it could burn better not to put the cake directly on flame this is how make I fill the pot with water and put the stand inside and lid on top to preheat for 5 min and then put the cake tin on Stand without water the base of my pot starts to get burned but if you are using water then make sure it has apace to let the steam out

Hi, if you are baking it on gas, keep the flame completely low till it bakes. Take it out once it is completely baked. Insert the toothpick in the centre of the Sponge, when it comes out clean then it is baked and if batter still sticks on the toothpick, let it bake for 5 to 10 minutes more or till the toothpick comes out clean. Don't open the lid to check it again and again in starting. Check it atleast after 25 to 30 minutes after keeping it on gas. Hope it will help.

Hi, once preheating is done bake at LOW heat till it is done (if you are baking it on gas stove). Don't overbake it. After 25 to 30 mins. insert the toothpick in the centre. If it comes out clean, it's done otherwise bake for some more time.
Use some plate on stand then keep paper cups, but after preheating, baking time would be less as you are baking in cups instead of tin. You need to keep an eye on them around after 15-20 minutes of baking.

Hi, always use heavy bottom pan. It will get hot during process then cool down but will not burn as the whole process will be done on low flame.

Yes but it could burn better not to put the cake directly on flame this is how make I fill the pot with water and put the stand inside and lid on top to preheat for 5 min and then put the cake tin on Stand without water the base of my pot starts to get burned but if you are using water then make sure it has apace to let the steam out
