Playoffs in premier league is the most idiotic thought. There’s already two English tournaments which accomplish the same thing . A 38 game season points accumulation is better than playoffs anyway, American sports regular seasons don’t matter at all - premier league every game from day 1 is important because it’s not a playoff system
Tbf a 4th place to 7th place tournament to establish what level of Europe you get would be very entertaining Derby idea would also add a lot more meaning to irrelevant GW38 games but don’t know how practical it is
4th rn is Villa who’s had an incredible season by almost all standards. 7th is Chelsea who’s had a shit season by all standards. If Chelsea were to get UCL football instead of Villa that’d be atrocious and a robbery. It would also de-incentivize teams that end up in that range to fight in the league. The league model is successful, it shouldn’t be touched
@@mobiustriple Villa have massively overperformed but think if you asked them last season they’d be asking for playoffs… It would also make clubs that get 7th place like wolves and villa have a chance to get champions league when they weren’t expecting which would cause some incredible momenta
How about American football and other sports have promotion and relegation? Oh that’s right greedy owners would lose out on money hence why many wealthy football club owners are heavily pushing for the Super League.
Pretty sure they don’t have derbys at the end of the season for a reason. I think it’s to do with policing or something, not too sure, but there’s definitely a reason it doesn’t happen. And playoffs is just so American, the players have played enough football by the end of the season, and when do you plan on getting the playoffs done? This year season ends mid may, then we have European finals until June 1st, and then the euros start June 14th. Not much time to fit in playoffs.
Which playoffs? You need to be specific, my guy there's Domestic Cups FA Cup Carabao Europa Champions All the above are all qualifing playoffs. If anything, american football needs relegation.
Not every club has a local rival in the same league. How would that work? Derby for some teams yet others play on as normal? And what is play offs? Does that mean the team with the most points doesn’t win the league as they have to play off against teams that finished with less points than them. That’s the worst idea I’ve ever heard! What is the incentive for teams to push to get the most points. A team finishing 4th can win the premier league yet finish 20 points worse off.
It's a relatively simple thing to implement tbh. We get rid of relegation once my team (QPR) get into the premiership, award us +80pts at the start of every season and go from there.
Bro was cooking then he said playoffs
planning derby's for end of season is ok.
but playoffs are only in the lower leagues to gain promotion to the premier league
Playoffs would ruin your initial request.....also the FA Cup is the playoffs.
That derby idea is not bad, but relegation can play in effect there.
The Darby idea is terrible

Playoffs is the worst idea, I don’t follow nfl so I’m not sure but nba a team could go 82-0 in the regular season and still not win the chip

Tbh I don’t think it would be better like most team just play youth team last rounds if it’s irrelevant game and idont think it will change anyways

Why not ditch the league all together and jist run double elim playoffs ,ಠ_ʖಠ
@@abbe3161 that’s the point if it’s a big rivalry it’s not an irrelevant game anymore and teams will play there stars

I like everything you said except playoffs, that was league cups and European cups are for
No playoff COME ON MAN
Nfl should have relegations too

Derby idea is really good 👍
The playoffs is just ucl

My guy acting as if NBA teams don't throw games late in the regular season if their seed is already clinched to give their starters some rest. 😂
Or just throw whole season cause of how draft picks work.
@@sagatlike3393 Get 1st round 1st pick. Throw the season to get another. #buildingphase
