Grant Hill Describes Guarding Kobe Bryant: "The Best Player I Ever Played Against"

- Grant Hill reflected on facing Kobe as a Phoenix Sun for several years. The Suns beat the Lakers in the first round of the Playoffs 2006 and 2007, and Grant Hill joined the team in 2008. They faced off again in 2010, losing to a much more dominant Lakers team and a very focused Kobe Bryant. For the 6 game series, Kobe averaged 33.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.2 blocks, on 52.1% FG/43.2% 3PT/88.1% FT shooting. The Lakers closed the series behind Kobe's 37 on the road, with some of the most memorable shots of that entire playoffs made in game 6.
Grant calls Kobe the best player he ever played, and the hardest player to guard (outside maybe MJ).
Funny how all the great players and great defenders in the last 20 years all say the same, Kobe is the most respected by his peers, and the most hated by Analytics Nerds. We miss you GOAT.
It's similar to the Pac,Biggie debate...
Alot of fans, media say Biggie was better...Alll the producers, rappers, djs agree,Pac was the goat
@@lexanithadon Pac not the goat, ever heard of rakim
@@zanejabber496 Pac Is The Goat 😂😂😂
@@AyooBudd rakim is. Have some respect
@@zanejabber496 No He Isn’t 😂😂😂
his peers speaks for itself they respect greatness
GOATbe Bryant, KoBeast, Bean, The Black Mamba, Lord of the Rings, Vino, FroBe, KB24, etc. RIP to one of, if not, the greatest players to have ever played. My favorite player of all time. Rest easy 👑
Players who played against both 90% pick kobe. Some stuff don't show up on the stat sheet
Im not mad at the stat guys because if you asked me to tell you who the best soccor or baseball player is currently i would go straight to the stat sheet because i dont know much about those sports
@@dominiquebrown2890 and that’s the point, the stat dudes are the ones who don’t know the sport, don’t play the sport, and therefore don’t understand the skill level that sometimes doesn’t show up on things like stats
But Kobe still had some of the best stats ever and definitely of his era
We miss you Kobe
Thank you Rahul, another great glimpse into the greatness that was Kobe 🐐 Man Bryant 💜💛
Kobe is the greatest contested shot maker ever doesn't matter the spot doesn't matter the defense kobe will shoot the same anyway
My Hero 💯
🐐
RIP Kobe
I was just yelled at in another youtube comment that kobe can't shoot, "just look at his numbers".....
I have no words.
Well hope u learned ur lesson n went back and watched sum games when kobe had it going on he was unstoppable n I mean dat he was my fav player 2 watch his skills were jus beautiful. Stuff u can't find on no stat sheet gotta see it 2 believe it.
Kobe's game reminds me of Mayweather's boxing. They both had answer for anything you bringing & made you pay for any mistakes
Right after that series Gentry said that kobe is the best in the league and it's not even close.
What instrumental did you use in this ?
Julian Avila - NOSTALGIA
KoGoat Bryant 🤷♂️
The GOAT in my eyes, no nerds would tell me otherwise.
it's funny because the Suns' weakness on offense was that the ball was almost always in Nash's hands. The Suns had an excellent offense and helped revolutionize the three point shot, but they were predictable and it hindered great players because they (like Grant) were stuck on the perimeter waiting for Nash to pass them the ball.
Its Crazy how all the NBA players say Kobe there Era goat & Nerds in suits all say he not on Bron or Mj level or not better then Duncan ..
We're never gonna see a player like him or MJ again. Sometimes i wonder if people are aware of this.
Respect Grant Hill. U were back from Injury. MJ gave u the business when u were fully healthy. And Grant went back at him but MJ killed Grant when he was The Real Grant Hill
nah he wasnt guarding jordan they way he was guarding kobe in the playoffs where it mattered the most and he actually was Kobes primary defender and got destroyed
RAHUL BACK WITH THE KOBE APPRECIATION. LETS GO 💯
Damn I miss him.
Kb24 kb08 the best player that my eyes have ever seen without a doubt
