The wife and I have been looking at trailers for the past 2 years and finally are focused on Lance. We will most likely buy used.

Lance review update: ua-cam.com/video/AW_keAeseS4/v-deo.html
We bought a used 2011 Lance 1985 over
two years ago and echo all of your observations. She’s been as solid as a rock with no problems.
My wife and I have been looking at the exact same year and model. How is the towing and build?
@@NM-tl6pe It tows just fine behind a 1/2 ton pickup. I've had a Tundra and now have a RAM. Everything still works and is still solid. We're heading out for a long weekend on Friday.
@@TWiumph thank you for responding. I have a 2020 Ranger. The gvwr of this trailer is several thousand below my max so I should be good.
We love our 2285, we looked at several different brands but as you said they are in a class of their own. The quality of Lance really makes the trailer feel like a home, and the storage is unmatched. Happy trails campers, aloha.
Nice. Thank you for you'r feedback. I would love one. It's worth paying a little more for quality.
We upgraded from a 2013 1575 to a 2019 1685. We tow with a Toyota Tundra . One of the main reasons for the upgrade was the 45 gallon fresh, grey and black tanks. Another reason was the ability to still open the big window at the front of the trailer- love the flow thru fresh air. We have discovered the accessibility of a smaller trailer in some national and state campgrounds in which larger units could not be accommodated. Have made some adaptations inside such as - replacing shower rod with larger track to maximise shower space, use shower curtain with pockets, replace dinette light fuxture with flushmount unit and add lots of shelving in closets for more storage. Love command hooks- use them in place of closet rods on shared bathroom wall in dinette to hang jackets and hats. They do not affect slide out when in operation. Only gripe with this trailer is the awning. Hate the fact that door must be closed to operate. Always afraid someone will forget and awning will be bent. Were fortunate to already have been camping this month. Looking forward to lots more trips. Love our little Lance.
We had a Casita (Texas manufacturer) first, couldn't make it work for us. Discovered the Lance 4 years ago. 2295 Model. LOVE IT. Seriously LOVE IT!
I saw this video this past summer and was key to our purchasing the Lance 1685 dual axle.
What a great review. Thanks so much for taking the time to take us through these great insights. Cheers.
Thanks
At least you didn't get sucked into buying an Airstream... 'Nuff said!!!... people don't realize when you're towing your trailer that's where a lot of wear-and-tear comes in when you're bouncing down the highways... good stuff thanks for posting
Thanks for all the great information👍😊 I’ve been shopping for a travel trailer and I keep coming back to Lance for all the reasons you listed. The 1985 model is at the top of my list now but the 1685 is a very close second. Either one would work. The 1685 would be lighter to pull but the 1985 gives us a little more room. Thanks for sharing and safe travels
Our pleasure!
Purchased a 2014 Lance 1885 about 2 weeks ago only 2 hours from Birmingham Alabama. It’s in great shape and easy to pull with my 2017 RAM 1500 4x4 Laramie crew cab truck. I’m getting it ready for first camping trip. Thanks for all your help n good information on Lance.👍😊🌎🇺🇸 thanks for sharing and safe travels
Me and the wife are considering 24/7 on the road living and really want to spend our retirement years on the road. The Lance 2465 has factored into the discussion many times. Love how we could get into any state park and enjoy seeing this great country while living in a very comfortable quality home on wheels. Thank you for the video and congratulations on the new addition to the family!
Thanks! We can't wait for retirement so we can do the same!
My wife and I find the 1995 the perfect size for us. I don't have the demand water heater on our 2018 version but plan to add that or trade for a new Lance with that feature. Lance is truly better than the competition.
Seems like a good guy and I know he says he's committed to being unbiased, but man oh man does this smell like a commercial. But whatever...either way, I'm sold! ;)
He is wise when it comes to purchases, I've discovered.
Great review! Love your honest and concise explanation. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
2019 Lance 1985 great trailer. I’ve owned a Forest River trailer it was JUNK !!!
Helpful review. But, remember "4 season certified" is the company's own certification. There is no industry standard or industry wide, independent "certification" process for 4 season worthiness. Lance does a great job, for sure, they are good trailers. But, for other buyers, the word "certification" is misleading. Thanks again for the review.
great point
Good point
Incredibly indept! Love the video. Keep up the great work 👍
thanks for the review - very helpful! I currently have a Casita and love it, though as we spend longer periods travelling, I think we will want more room. Congrats on the little one, btw!!
Great video!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Lance.
we recently sold our 2016 model 1685 and bought the 2020 model 2185. we love the Lance quality.
Curious on what you paid for the 2185, been looking at the particular model.
@@GreenMountain565 MSRP was 50k we paid about 40k. got a great deal. hope you enjoy it s much as we do.
Thank you for this video. Impressive storage and so well made. I'm sold on the Lance. Great review. God Bless you. Congratulations on you'r new baby.
Thanks
thanks for showing the slide out in action. i like how much extra space it gives and how you can still get in the fridge and get to the bed with the slide in.
Appreciate the video and congrats on your new baby 💛
Thanks
Great video, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Congratulations on the new addition To your family too.
My favorite model is the 2445 bunkhouse but it would be nice if it had the extra large dinnett and a door off of the master bedroom. Azdel wall panels are nice too.
It has both of those things, at least the 2020 models do.
We bought our 2445 in early 2020 and still enjoy it very much. We have pulled it 37k miles and it has been a great safe travel trailer
We bought a Lance last year. We have the 2375 model. Quality is obvious with it.
Thanks for the info. Great information
Congrats on the baby. What a great video, Lance needs to cut you a check!
Thanks I doubt they care or pay attention
Thanks for the review and congrats on the baby! Do you ever go on gravel roads? Is the clearance sufficient?
A little bit from time to time. The clearance is about average for a TT. Just be super careful
Have always loved vans, but have never owned one and probably never will. It's the design and construction that interests me. Met a couple recently that had trouble getting a 18' tandem some years back, so had one made on special order plus the screw ends were dipped in glue before insertion (Wooden frame) otherwise they rattle out, which happens in OZ. Aluminium framed vans are were rare in Oz with Chesney making them years ago and now Jayco and maybe a few others, but the rough dirt/gravel roads destroy vans.
Hey! Great video and congrats on the new baby. My wife and I planning to purchase a Lance once we return to the states. Question, what truck do you use to pull your trailer and have you done many modifications to it?
For some thing that size I would recommend an f:150 or f:250
Nice tour! We are currently considering a Lance. One of my big concerns is, in the floor plan I like, there is no recliner, or couch. There are times I would like to sit down and put my feet up. It appears one could do this in relative comfort at your type of dinette (east to west). Your thoughts\opinions? If you say it’s an option that works well-Lance will go to the top of my list 😎
My 1995 with the Roadster leather is by far the tops in comfort. My wife and I enjoy an early morning coffee in the dinette. You can put your legs up on the bench and each lean on the cushioned back and sip away the morning at your favorite camp. We highly recommend Lance over any other. The walk around queen bed in the 1995 is another of many great features in the Lance.
That's what I do all the time
@@kellylazurko6078 Thank you, since Lance is opting out of a couch or recliner on many of there floor plans there dinette seating has to be very comfortable!
By the way - Congrats...
I am considering to buy Lance 1685. But if Lance has high quality, why Lance didn’t offer 2+3 warranty such as Jayco?
Have a 2018 Lance 1995 after looking at alot of other companies. The first time my wife walked into the trailer she literally cried for joy at how beautiful it is. The others are really junk compared to Lance top quality
Great video
Thank you
I've been hearing rumors that Lance is losing their quality after they sold out to REV Group, and now i'm hearing mixed reviews. For example you attest to this product being high build quality, while others say they fall apart (one such comment on this video) - i'm truly confused and don't know what to believe.
I guess all I can day is look at them yourself side by side with other brands. That's how I ended up making my decision, at the rv show.
Not so sure id trust that negative comment.
You pay your money, you take your chances.
Your mileage may vary.
Don't forget about the easy lube wheel bearings.
Awesome haircut!
It seemed like he was being sarcastic the whole time😂
Nice video.
Why does this company not use Polyisocyanurate for insulation, also known as PIR or PIR - a closed-cell thermosetting polymer material with a sufficiently high degree of rigidity and is usually used as a rigid thermal insulation? Simple Styrofoam for $ 41,000? You are joking? Will these trailers withstand a - 45 * C frost in Alaska in the month of January? There is no good soundproofing and that's a fact.
Nice but I think a walk around bed for me not East to West
You should go into sales.....
Lance needs to think about updating their interiors. It is nice quality yes, but quite dated. The cabinets and upholstery are a turn off for me. The kitchen and cabinets in the Winnebago Hike are a good example of a fresh look. Lots of people don’t care about such things, but lots of others do!
Which is the biggest lance model that I can tow with a half ton pickup? Yes I'm a newbie...😅
You can two just about any Lance with a half ton
Do all the Lances have dual axel? I can't find what the 2185 or 2545 has for an axel. Its not on their website
THey all do except 1475 and 1575
Can you access the inside with the slide in? I’m thinking about use while road tripping. Thanks!
Yes but it is tight
With the slide in on the 1995 you can still access the refrigerator and easily have a rest stop lunch right in the trailer. The 4 season trailer stays nice and cool on the road and we pop a dinette window open for fresh air. Love it and would NOT buy any other lesser brand. LANCE or Airstream are both quality but the Lance is way better bang for your buck
Can you get a washer dryer combo installed??
No room
@@BigRockMoto Well darn!
The Quality of the Lance post REV group and Covid is horrible we looked at them Late 2023. The construction and materials have been significantly reduced. Just one example are cabinets construction have gone away from dovetail construction. But, I noticed a lot of cheap construction methods, just like other junk trailers. Yet, the prices continue to go up. Double the price of another brand with the same floor plan. I just don’t see the quality you were talking about from 3 years ago.
Can the slide go partially in/out?
No. Though due to my slide total failure in 2022, I am replacing the system with the Vroom. This system does allow partially in or out.
The number reason is because you had an R-Pod in the past
1. Money 2. Money 3. Money 4. Money 5. Money and 6. Money
We bought a Lance 2285 last month and had nothing but quality issues - 2 major water leaks and other minor issues - please see my videos
Where is this mans sideburns?
***are
Down payment
Don
Which model is this ?
1685
My Lance is falling apart. Durability? Um, no. Warped roof. Dealer and manufacturer did not stand by their product. There advice was to lower the trailer when it rains so that water would not pool on the roof. Spongy floor. Afraid to investigate for fear of what I will find. Thank you, Lance, for your lack of quality and refusal to stand by your product. Tens of thousands down the drain.
Very sorry to hear I hope that is not a common issue
I am surprised to hear this. If it was bought new, I would have an attorney.
You need to get an Attorney. We bought a 2019 #1985. Nothing but problems it just got out of the warranty. They took care of all the small stuff, but the big problem l am having to pay 2,500.00 to fix. They build the stupid thing with a grossly inadequate suspension. All said and done when I fill up the fresh water tank, I have 123 pound of remaining cargo capacity for everything else I need to bring. I guess all those storage cabinets are for marshmallows. I’m having an axel shop throw Lance’s suspension in the garbage and put on one that will give me a couple a thousand pounds. Even the Micro Minie Whinny gives you 1,800 + pounds after you fill up the fresh tank and it costs half as much. End of rant. Good luck.
Ps. I forgot to tell you Lance isn’t lance as of January 2018, Rev bought them.
@@fasteddie51 Wow. Good info. Thanks.
So what is the answer to buying ANY RV?
We have looked continually, over the last two years, at Tiffin Wayfarers (too expensive), 5th wheels, ALL travel trailers and I continually read the same poor quality issues over and over. Basically, it sounds like most mfgs. build their RV's just well enough to (hopefully) make through the one year warranty.
Our daughter lives in Oregon and our goal was to buy a truck that could pull a Lance 1985 and start heading cross country, but I am beginning to think that hotels are a better solution.
Anybody out there with good advice for a newbie?
Great video
