Last night my wipers jumped when I started the engine leaving at least one out of the parked position. The wipers were not turned on when they jumped nor were they on when the engine was turned off. For some reason they wouldn’t park. I figured I’d have to clean and lubricate the mechanism like I’ve had to do in the past but after messing with them a bit they finally parked. It rained the next day and they worked fine. Weird.
Nice repair, Steve. $6 compared to probably $50 to $70 from the dealer....plus shipping time......then reinstall. Your handy work paid off extremely well. 👍
Ha...now that you mention it, I remember Stacie mentioning the 300k mile vacation van (smile). Forgot all about that until you mentioned mileage. Heck, you guys have done well with the vehicle.
I have the '05 Venture, and it's sketchy. Right now the wipers have two speeds: OFF and High, plus they won't stowe so I have to time them to stop when they get close to the A pillars. I believe I found a fix for the stowe issue, but I don't know if that's separate from the speed issue or not. This vid could be handy if it's the same problem!
if you still have the van, you might want to remove the interior plastic trim around those wheel wells, and chemically treat the rust before it consumes the entire lower rear

Thanks, I figure its always best to try the cheaper route first, especially on a 300k mile vehicle lol

@@houndsmanone4563 Our goal was always 300k when we got it, the head gasket went at 298xxx, so I had no choice but to fix it lol
@@SteveStoltz Tremendous job, Steve.

I think its too late for that, its pretty far gone at this point. I think the engine and trans will outlast the body for sure.
Thank you
You're welcome
Great fix! 😀
Thanks, Just in time for kayak time ;)
Yes it is! You saved the day again!
