“Recorded for the ‘Tennessee Moon’ album and co-written with Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Layng Martine Jr., the nostalgic tune revels in the riches that money can’t buy. While Diamond managed to throw in some autobiographical touches, he cautions against taking the lyrics too literally. ‘I liked the song so much because I was able to get my Harley Davidson in the song and my little cabin by the stream, but never had a tree that I climbed behind my house, though I wish I did,’ he says. ‘It was my imagination wanting to have those special places that you remember that have nothing to do with money, but more to do with satisfying the soul. I think that was Layng’s title about ‘I was rich before I had a dime.’ We had fun writing the song.’”

Wow. What a beautiful recording studio in Nashville. I love the added photo by KD of the cabin. It made it so real for the fans. Great message of paying homage to one who means so much to this highly acclaimed artistic genius who appreciates what truly matters in life no matter what stage in his life. Thank you, Doug, for highlighting this lesser known song from 'Tennessee Moon' (1996). 💎💎💎

From the selection high quality images, generally from hundreds of images and only culled in the final stages to audio edits. Our ride-on is an Aussie built machine. The reason we purchased this unit being that parts replacement costs are considerably lower than with imports as we are not exposed to the vagaries of currency fluctuation. I wonder why this song isn’t included in the CD? Also a comment on Doug’s videos: I really enjoy them and appreciate his creativity, but why do they always have to include pretty women who have nothing to do with Neil? To me, they’re a distraction, and I would rather see pictures of him.

Must admit that I am completely floored by your observation regarding the inclusion of "pretty women" in my videos. I will endeavour to clarify -
* I only include women as and when required by the respective song. I suggest you listen/watch this video again. The woman I inserted at various strategic points in this video being quite simply because the lyrics (Neil) makes mention/reference of a woman. In fact, if you listen to the lyrics, carefully, (I suggest you click on the *…more* link beneath the video for notes and lyrics), the entire song revolves around a woman. It would be rather silly to omit that fact and only fill the video with irrelevant images of just Neil. I have always/will always strive to, as accurately as possible, factually reflect Neil’s lyrics. This I’ve done for the past 12 years. Yours is the very first observation of its kind.
* “Pretty women”. Given the option and appropriateness, I will always include pretty women in favour of “unattractive” women. A matter of taste; common sense.
* I am unable to include images of Neil's wives. Reason glaringly simple... scarcity.
