Yep. The hate this scene gets is strange, especially when you can see Myers thinking it through. He's trying to decide if he should kill Busta Rhymes, but finally decides Nora needed to go first. There WAS going to be a sequel to resurrection but it was cancelled, it would've had Josh Hartnetts character go after Michael Myers as revenge. That should've been the plot of resurrection instead of... whatever we got.
When rappers started to be in popular franchises i knew it would be trash.I get it they think the rappers will bring in more money with their fans.Imagine if Eminem was in a popular horror franchise like Halloween or Friday the 13th alot of people who don't even like those movies would come out just to see Eminem
I actually don't mind Resurrection. It's a fun watch, especially with friends! But I think the mask is butt-ugly. I think it's the prominent eyebrows and laugh lines, and the plastic texture. I much prefer the Stan Winston mask from H20. I understand it's kind of sacrilege in the way it exposes Michael's eyes, but his wild hair and crazed eyes haunted me, as a kid, lol. The original reigns supreme, however. ALSO, I love that you asked, "Why would we care about these nobody people eight movies in?" That's one reason Halloween stands out from other slasher franchises: It has a legacy and an over-arcing narrative, and characters we recognize and love and that carry over from other entries. Friday the 13th, for example, has a couple of notable characters (Ginny, Tommy) but they're rare among the more frequent throwaway characters that plague the series.
I liked them both. But, you're right about the H2O mask. The wild look works well for Myers. But, the cold-blooded mobster hitman look (especially in the rooftop scene) in this one works really well, too. haha. Speaking of which, maybe it's something only mob film fans know, but Laurie Strode kissed Myers because they were enemies. It's called The Kiss of Death. A famous scene of a Kiss of Death is in The Godfather II when Michael Corleone kisses Fredo for betraying him. That's why she tells him, "See you in hell." That's war talk, not pillow talk. haha
This was the first Halloween movie I ever saw, at a dollar theater in Las Cruces, NM in my early 20s, and at the time this scared the hell out of me and gave me literal nightmares. A creepy faceless murderer is just creepy. And I don't mind the dated cultural elements.
If you or anyone is interested, there is this fan film that ties 1-8 into one continuity timeline, picking up 10 years after Resurrection. Dr Loomis's Grandson has his eyes set on finishing his Grandfather's work, and put an end to Myers Legacy. It's called Halloween Unforgiving. It is on UA-cam. Check it out if your a fan and want an ending to the original series, and not one that ignores 2-8. It's incredible!
Interesting coming back here after Halloween Kills dropped. Some things are fun to compare especially the fact that Michael Myers could travel to Cali just to kill and return home Bc he always goes home.
I’ve been re-watching all the Halloween movies recently and to be honest this movie is not as bad as Halloween fans say. In my opinion the first 15 minutes is great, Brad Lorre is a great Myers, and Busta is funny af. I don’t think it’s great but it’s at least an average slasher. I find funny how everyone who craps on this movie sucks all the garbage sequels and lazy reboots off. To be honest after rewatching all of them the only good ones are the original 1 and 2.
@@mysticz9046 I don’t like the two new films there lazy and retcon everything besides the first movie. Every major franchise has bad movies but you don’t have to retcon everything just b/c your to lazy to come up with a good follow up story. Laurie and Michael will always be brother and sister. There will be only one Halloween 2 and that movie came out in 1981.
Definitely my least-favorite of the franchise, but I have to admit the insanity of it made me enjoy it rather than hate it. But the original is still my favorite.
What boggles my mind is this was directed by Rick Rosenthal. The same man who directed Halloween 2, and he managed to make the second worst movie in the Halloween franchise.
itI love your Halloween reviews. They are funny and really entertaining. I know this took a lot of work to watch some of these movies you never wanted to watch again so I wanted to let you know I appreciate it. Your Scream videos are my absolute favorite. Thanks for posting such awesome content.
I swear u know when I’m about to eat dinner each time cause u literally upload a video every time I’m about to eat and watch UA-cam videos lol so I see u upload and just decide to watch your video while eating lol
The catfish/other state character really was my favorite part of the post mental hospital part of the movie 😭😭 And also Myers being a animal eater is scary lmao
I'm not convinced Myers was eating the rats. Just like I don't believe he eats dogs. I really think he was using the rats like they're usually used -- to experiment on. Stuff he's going to eventually use on a victim. The rat was Alive and had pins in it. Myers was torturing it. The eating dog thing happened because Loomis was trying to convince Sheriff Brackett to believe that Myers was dangerous when Brackett had no reason to think Myers was a problem. Remember, Myers was considered a model patient because he was pretty much comatose for 15 years. Myers killed dogs because dogs alert people and he can't have that. He's a professional stalker and dogs cramp his style. haha. Also, think about it. Myers had no reason to eat a dog. He ate the previous night before he escaped And had access to any kitchen in Haddonfield he wanted. The dog eating thing is a Loomis lie to get the help he needed since no one believed him

This video reminds me of a parody Michael Myers profile where he was living retired life because "Once he got his ass kicked by Busta Rhymes he knew it was time to retire"
I consider myself a Halloween fan and I absolutely LOVE Resurrection as a so bad it's fun kinda movie...I never understood the frustration with the Michael/Busta scene I read that as a character moment for Michael showing how thrown off he is when people arent afraid of him and the only reason he didnt kill him was because he mentioned Nora which Michael probably saw as someone who could potentially figure things out before he could kill everybody else..and the karate scene was just showing how even the most badass human cant hold a candle to Michael...I definitely would argue with anyone about this being a bad movie though
FACTS about the Nora stuff and why Michael didn’t kill Busta right then and there. I mean he could have, but Nora became priority #1. Also, I think the whole Busta vs Myers bit is like a meta idea from a fan perspective. It was Scream Copy Cat season when they made this so I totally think it fits. MOST male fans always liked to say, “man I would kick the shit out of **insert famous horror icon here** or I would go down swinging.” That’s what we all said to ourselves. So this movie let a rapper actually do it. That’s all that is.
Another fun video in this series! Keep up the great work. I saw this in the theater back when it originally released. Not sure if I or the 7.2 other people in the theater have forgiven themselves for putting themselves through the experience of watching Resurrection.
What is this lol? I started rewatching the Halloween franchise except for Halloween 3 and everytime I watch a movie like Curse of Michael Myers one day, I see your video covering it the day after. Yesterday I watched Resurrection and look at this
I absolutely loathe this movie. It's the worst in the franchise by so far, any other bad sequel is actually good in comparison. I actually forget it exists from time to time, until some video about it pops up on my recommendations. By the way, great video! I'm loving these.
@@3CFilms always watch you videos and usually don't comment but that right there was what I needed 😆! keep up the great work and know that it is much appreciated!!!
The opening act is the only thing that ruins the film really. It's fundamentally not a well done prologue at all, but it was also an affront to Laurie's victory in H20 and even worse she gets killed by being uncharacteristically stupid. Take that opening off, and the rest of the movie could be set anytime without any real continuity obligation. Buncha co-eds join an internet stunt show to go into the Myers house and poke around... and uh oh Michael's there, havoc ensues. The End. That opening was so unneeded and felt contractually obligated to be in the film than an actual necessary story element.
@@jessemoore7081 The opening act is the only thing that REDEEMS the film. What 'victory' did Laurie win in H20? That whole incident was the affront...to the SERIES...The idea that a woman could walk right up to Michael Myers and kill him while he was fully conscious with both hands free? Absurd. She couldn't do that to ME. I'd simply take the axe away from her. Resurrection had potential, but they squandered it by bringing in Busta Rhymes, and forgetting what kind of film they were MAKING here...Slasher movies thrive on isolation. Keeping characters in clusters makes for something out of Laurel and Hardy...NOT a slasher movie.
@@tgriffin3059alright sport, why don't you explain to me your plan for wrestling away an axe from a VERY pissed off woman while your pinned to a truck by a tree and can't reach her?

I'm not gon lie...im waiting to know how yuh felt on the Rob zombies Michael Myers cuz imo his was possibly one of my favorites just because of the true brutal killings he was doing left and right.
Besides that one scene, Michael was Still treated with more respect to his fans more than Freddy in the ENTIRETY of Freddy's Dead when they just lampooned him.
6:35 See i still don’t mind how Micheal comes back or how Laurie goes because of this plot, i kinda like it lolol . The kiss was so odd tho 😂😂 And the rest of the movie we don’t even needa speak of lol
I agree this could have been way higher on people's favorite list if they had done just a few things different, like you said, actually finding out something new about Michael would have been amazing, like maybe he was adopted, it would have created more questions, like where did he actually come from, an why does he have the link, if it is the throne stuff, or the shamrock stuff, maybe it could have been fleshed out way better, or it could have been something even darker, who knows, the sky is the limit, if done right people could have loved it, not gonna lie, back in the day when this came out, an I was younger, I thought this was the coolest idea for a horror movie, it felt so fresh at the time, of course now looking back it is pretty bad, not the worst thing, it was a novel idea that needed a few more rewrites, because of how so many thing's didn't add up or make sense, an it needed more imaginative money shots, but it was dumb fun,
Gotta come clean... Resurrection was the first Halloween film i saw in the theater and its the movie that actually got me obsessed with Halloween... But yeah, this movie is definitely terrible but it also has one of the absolute BEST renditions of the Halloween theme! And that POV scene with the killer obsessed clown dude is definitely THE BEST scene in this movie!
This movie made sense for it's time as far as the first person reality shows, ghost hunter style shows were popping up, other reality/challenge shows, I don't understand all the hate
@3Cfilms I recently discovered that Scream writer Kevin Williamson was the one who wrote the explanation scene however; it was footage that was meant for H2O. But due to rewrites and deleted footage it was included into Resurrection
Was first named "Halloween: The Homecoming", but producers wanted a title that said Michael Myers is alive so in February 2002, the film was officially named Halloween: Resurrection (2002). Jamie Lee Curtis was quoted as saying she considered this film a joke. John Carpenter has stated that the movie made him cringe. While in the asylum, Laurie Strode has a Raggedy Ann doll. In the original movie, she had a similar Raggedy Ann doll on the dresser in her bedroom. Jamie Lee Curtis appears on the movie cover with short hair, despite having long hair in the film. If looked at more closely, one can easily tell that it's the same picture of her that was used for the poster of the previous film, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998). In 2015 when being interviewed by Toofab, Jamie Lee Curtis has said that this film was a complete joke, and that the only reason why she did the film was because she signed a contract when doing Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998), because that was the only way she could have Halloween H20 made. Stuntman Brad Loree, a lifelong horror enthusiast and fan of the 'Halloween' films, plays Michael Myers in this installment. Loree stated that, had the series not been rebooted after 'Resurrection', he would have liked to reprise the role of Myers, as he enjoyed the role. Bianca Kajlich cannot scream and her screams had to be dubbed in post production. Jamie Lee Curtis has played Laurie Strode in films released in six different decades from the 1970s to the 2020s: Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981), Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998), Halloween: Resurrection (2002), Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills(2021) and Halloween Ends (2022). The only one movie to establish Michael Myers' birth date: October 19, 1957. Jamie Lee Curtis was contractually obligated to be in a sequel, supposedly for a 30-second cameo, but reportedly was so interested in the story that she agreed to do a full four-day shoot and appeared in the entire opening sequence. However she has discounted this and only did it because she didn't want her character to be in any more films. She saw this film as a joke. This film is the first one in which Michael kills a victim by decapitation. Freddie Harris' surname is an homage to Danielle Harris, who played Michael Myers' niece, Jamie Lloyd, in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989). (at around 17 mins) In the first scene at the college, Sara Moyer (Bianca Kajlich) is shown twirling her hair, much like Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) does in the class room scene in the original Halloween. Sara says that Michael's knife would be in an evidence room locker, in the beginning of Bride of Chucky (1998), Michael's mask is shown in an evidence room locker. Michael's use of a spiked leg of a tripod as a weapon is an homage to Michael Powell's Peeping Tom (1960). (At around 8 mins) The security camera footage showing Michael walking down a corridor is similar to Halloween II (1981) when the security footage shows Michael walking down a hospital hallway both movies were directed by Rick Rosenthal. Michael's knife is a, 12" Victorinox Forschner with Rosewood Handle. The name Jen Danzig is a reference to Glenn Danzig, the former singer and leader of The Misfits, who wrote and sung the songs Halloween and Halloween II after the original movie was released. The two songs have nothing to do with the movies, because their lyrics do not even touch the main plot. When Laurie is killed by Michael and falls through the trees, you can hear the same "landing on the floor" sound effect from when Michael falls out of the window at the end of the original Halloween. Ryan Merriman (Myles) and Billy Kay (Scott) were both born on April 10th. The film's poster, has Laurie reflected on the bottom of the knife, which is also bloodied at the tip. Laurie Strode is only in the film for the first 15 minutes and only says 11 lines of dialogue. Despite this, Jamie Lee Curtis still gets top billing as part of the cast. at around 16 mins) At the beginning of the movie Harold begins to recount the victims of the first two films and he says three teenagers were killed, along with three nurses and a paramedic. This is completely wrong. Four teenagers were killed (Annie, Bob, Linda and Alice (the girl talking on the phone at the beginning of the second movie) and four nurses, a paramedic, a security guard, a doctor, and a marshal, as well as the truck driver who was found by Dr. Loomis, which is where Michael got his jumpsuit. Nora Winston's (Tyra Banks's) death scene was originally onscreen. Publicity stills and behind-the-scenes photos proved that her death scene was filmed. It involved Michael stringing her up with electrical wire and him repeatedly stabbing her in the abdomen as she struggled (which explains the pool of blood Sara slips on in the garage). The scene was later cut, as a suggestion by Brad Loree, the stuntman who played Michael, as he stated "Every horror movie has to have a character find the body of someone you didn't know was dead." Body count: 10. (Plus one character presumed dead, but it's unconfirmed. If you count the bodies from the flashbacks then the body count is 14.) Second Halloween movie to have Michael get burned in a fire at the end, first was Halloween II (1981), both were directed by Rick Rosenthal. (at around 1h 17 mins) Tyra Banks' character's death was cut. You can still see the aftermath in the movie. Michael switching outfits with the paramedic (how he survived the previous film) is similar to the producers' cut ending to Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995), where Michael switches outfits with Dr. Wynn.

There's a script for it online that was leaked too before Zombie's remake was announced. I think it was called 'Halloween Retribution'.
A sequel resurrection movie would of been better than those 2 rob zombie movies
@@Crismachan I actually love Rob Zombie's Halloween, exept that forgettable sequel.

Man I hate the characters in this movie. Lol.
Finally! This movie already makes me laugh but having 3C review idk if my stomach can take that much laughing 😂
Haha you're too nice thank you!
I remember watching this movie and being so enraged at Busta Rhymes kicking Michael Myers. Felt cheated out of a Horror Icon
YESSS!! Agree
@@3CFilms I kind of loved it, but not because it was awesome. Just because it's so hilarious and…weird, to say the least.
When rappers started to be in popular franchises i knew it would be trash.I get it they think the rappers will bring in more money with their fans.Imagine if Eminem was in a popular horror franchise like Halloween or Friday the 13th alot of people who don't even like those movies would come out just to see Eminem
@@cookscreativecorner Man, that was fxxking awesome! Stop it.
@@keldorthebluemack Deep Blue Sea also had LL Cool J and that was a good movie
I actually like this one I know it’s not the greatest movie but I like all of Busta Rhymes interactions with Michael
💀💀💀
Been looking forward to every upload of these, can’t wait for the 2018 coverage.
This is definitely one of those “So bad it’s good” movies. Me and my friends loved watching this movie since we were kids. Lol. It’s so funny.
I think Halloween Resurrection is so bad that it’s hilarious! Great review Chris 🎃🔥

You are PUMPIN out these Halloween videos. Great stuff my man
Correction, they hate reoccurring characters that ARENT Micheal Myers! (Ex: Halloween 3)
Is the acting decent?
@@Gideon13397 the acting is pretty good. The story is great.
I said it before, and I'll say it again.. We need a Michael Myers road trip film. Halloween: H20.5 or Halloween: Before the Resurrection!
That scream Michael Myers did when Busta shocked his 🥜🥜 had me lmao🤣🤣🤣 and then he screamed again as he resurrected at the very end🤣🤣🤣
Interesting coming back here after Halloween Kills dropped. Some things are fun to compare especially the fact that Michael Myers could travel to Cali just to kill and return home Bc he always goes home.
Of course. He Always goes home
Watch the tv cut of Halloween 2. It basically rearranges the whole film to make sense and is way better than the normal version.
Yeah my favourite is when buster fights Michael I love it when people actually try to fight the villain
Halloween 4 was good, Halloween 2018 was good, Halloween kills was good
@@mysticz9046 I don’t like the two new films there lazy and retcon everything besides the first movie. Every major franchise has bad movies but you don’t have to retcon everything just b/c your to lazy to come up with a good follow up story. Laurie and Michael will always be brother and sister. There will be only one Halloween 2 and that movie came out in 1981.
@thatdudefromearth Still better than HoBoween 2
LMFAO at the Myers Pull down!! thanks for the laugh bro you never disappoint
Definitely my least-favorite of the franchise, but I have to admit the insanity of it made me enjoy it rather than hate it. But the original is still my favorite.

IM LIVING FOR THESE HALLOWEEN REVIEWS!!!!
The catfish/other state character really was my favorite part of the post mental hospital part of the movie 😭😭 And also Myers being a animal eater is scary lmao
You mean the Deckard character?
The dog eating thing is a Loomis lie to get the help he needed since no one believed him
@@LA_HA I agree with you but he ate a dog in Halloween 2 the remake 😷 😴

This is my favorite Halloween movie.
Perfectly said. It's one of my favorite guilty pleasure films of all time.
Your love for this movie is disturbing

Halloween resurrection is honestly one of my favourites, love the opening, love the mask, love the approach towards it
Agreed if u don't have a Halloween superhard on then this movie is fine. I really loved it. Nostalgic film
@@tokyodeathghoul2313 (1). His arms were free (2). It's just a woman (3). He's Michael Myers (4). She has to come WITHIN reach to use the axe(if she can reach me, I can reach HER)... (5). If Michael Myers can reach you....well, you do the math...
The "Meyers pull down"😂😂😂
I'm not gon lie...im waiting to know how yuh felt on the Rob zombies Michael Myers cuz imo his was possibly one of my favorites just because of the true brutal killings he was doing left and right.
Yea I actually liked his first one but not his second one
Thank you for doing these reviews, this is so entertaining. What do you think about reviewing all horror franchises?
Besides that one scene, Michael was Still treated with more respect to his fans more than Freddy in the ENTIRETY of Freddy's Dead when they just lampooned him.
6:35 See i still don’t mind how Micheal comes back or how Laurie goes because of this plot, i kinda like it lolol . The kiss was so odd tho 😂😂 And the rest of the movie we don’t even needa speak of lol
Maybe as a "congrats" for finally killing her after all these years.
It was a "farewell" sort of thing in my theory.
I would have liked another (part 9) with Josh Hartnett seeking revenge on Michael
That stuuupid haircut alone was the reason I was hoping he’d be shanked
There’s actually an alternate ending where Michael woke up and tried to kill Freddy but the final girl put an axe on Michael’s face
"source"?
Where is this alternate ending?
You’re making up stuff.
@@abellewis3062 Nope, it’s right here. ua-cam.com/video/VwBJ_2cWH3Q/v-deo.html
I agree this could have been way higher on people's favorite list if they had done just a few things different,
like you said, actually finding out something new about Michael would have been amazing,
like maybe he was adopted, it would have created more questions, like where did he actually come from,
an why does he have the link, if it is the throne stuff, or the shamrock stuff, maybe it could have been fleshed out way better,
or it could have been something even darker, who knows, the sky is the limit,
if done right people could have loved it,
not gonna lie, back in the day when this came out, an I was younger, I thought this was the coolest idea for a horror movie, it felt so fresh at the time,
of course now looking back it is pretty bad, not the worst thing, it was a novel idea that needed a few more rewrites, because of how so many thing's didn't add up or make sense,
an it needed more imaginative money shots,
but it was dumb fun,
Michael Myers really loves doing pull ups before his killing. He's gotta work on that stabbing arm 😂😂
The peanut butter analogy was on point lol

Michael Myers on a reality show, how could that not be a good idea
Great video and review🎃🎃
The scene was later cut, as a suggestion by Brad Loree, the stuntman who played Michael, as he stated "Every horror movie has to have a character find the body of someone you didn't know was dead."
Body count: 10. (Plus one character presumed dead, but it's unconfirmed. If you count the bodies from the flashbacks then the body count is 14.)
Second Halloween movie to have Michael get burned in a fire at the end, first was Halloween II (1981), both were directed by Rick Rosenthal.
Wynn.
