4 Prosthetic Legs for 2 Girls in 7 Days

Jun and Mae flew down from Ohio with Dad, Greg, to spend the week at POA. Jun, 7, has already been fit with several prosthetic legs, so hers were pretty easy to fit - 2 legs, one for walking and one for running, were fit and fabricated in 2 days. Mae, 4, was being fit with her second hip disarticulate prosthesis as well as her first running leg. A hip joint was added to Mae's walking prosthesis, which allows her to sit with it on. We were so proud of the patience and work Mae put into learning how to walk with the new joint and alignment. By the time she left on the laminated socket, she had it down pretty good. Mae was soooo excited about having a running leg like her sister; we barely got it aligned in the parallel bars before she took off on it! Soon the sisters were jumping and running around the office together. We warned their mom that there would now be two faaaaaassssttt little girls running around the house when they arrived home. :-) #POAkidsrock #noboundaries
