The problem with travel videos is that you cannot prepare a script before going to the location if you have no or little idea of the place. I always face this problem but I try to do some research and also watch relevant videos before embarking on my journey. But when I reach the place it throws up surprises which I was not prepared for. I think that is one of the challenges a travel video maker has to face.

Just buy a tripod and start practicing .. in phone footage just take care of white balance and don't need much colour grading moreover focus on the story
