- Subscribe and follow along as I get this original, un-restored 1969 Corvette Stingray running and back on the road! In this episode, I perform a complete 4 wheel disc brake job including Master Cylinder. Be sure to check out all the episodes. Can't wait to drive this "Green Rocket"!
I'm really enjoying the C3 project Vette.Great tips.
Wow they went a little overboard with the rivets into the rotor , never seen that , great job can’t wait for the next video 😊
Agreed! I had to drill out all four rotors - fun stuff!😉 Thanks for the comment! More episodes posted soon.
The ability to stop is often the most important thing. That old braking system was looking just a bit crusty. Good call!
Thanks Bill! It stops amazing now. I'm working on the next episodes showing it stopping on a dime.
Terry, please check out the rear strut rod bushings (they look pretty bad in the video) and the rear swing arm toe shims are fanned out indicating a lot of rust between them and they may be corroded away at the pivot point. I think you may have a large project there. The Wisconsin winters may have taken a toll on that great find you have.
You have a good eye Bud! Yes, those rear bushings will all have to be replaced. 53 years and they're dried out for sure. I'll check those shims too! This Vette spent most of its' life in a garage where the moisture in the air created surface rust underneath (It wouldn't handle the snow up here!😁). I have since power washed the entire undercarriage and its all solid, no issues. More episodes are on there way.
Great job
