Bougainvillea (lit. 'Bougainvillea') is a 2024 Indian Malayalam-language psychological crime thriller film directed by Amal Neerad. The film stars Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil and JyothirmayiIt. It is an adaptation of Jose's novel Ruthinte Lokam (2019) and marks Jyothirmayi's comeback to cinema after an 11-year hiatus. #malayalam

The Female lead of this movie is the better half of the Director
You should watch"Mumbai police" starring Prithviraj.👍 Its also about memory loss. This movie was not remade to Bollywood and other industries because the actors were afraid to do such a character.
The movie was above average. The climax was predictable. The most important thing about this film is its technical side...wooww it was damm good. Definitely a one time watch . As a malayali , I had greater expectation from the director 😅😅

Big b is a slow paced gangster drama so u have to understand the pace of the movie .the pace is needed for showcasing everything . Don't tease it 😅.its a game changing film in terms of making wise and all technically 😊

I think nona you don't watch korean mystery thriller films .most people from kerala are very addicted to korean mystery dramas especially the youth thats i think most of them felt the climax and revealing was very predictable. Some people said the predicted the revealing from what they saw in the first half but what i am curious is they same people felt kkk climax was mind-blowing of course it wasnt predictable like bougainvillea but the hype people created for its climax was aaa little bit over but it was very very heart touching.
More than the shock factor people were impressed by the emotional aspect of kkk climax

Everyone saying predictable factor omg 😂 These people really have no idea about Amal Neerad movies. His every movie is predictable and simple when it comes to the plot. His movies are all about how he brilliantly hooks the audience through his unique and stylish frames plus the music. And saw many talking about Fahadh having a very small role. Ofcourse he is the best actor in the country right now. But that doesn't mean his character was bad or not well written in this movie. He had only a small role which the story demanded only that much. It would be great if rhe audience do not succumb to the trend of presenting the great actors or superstars to roles that stands superior to all other co actors. Malayalam cinema is not such industry. Even if a great actor or a superstar has only a small role, it is absolutely fine as long as this character does not affect the quality of the movie and story telling.
The last 45 mins was bad. Well atleast they didn't resort to the 2 males fighting it out at the end. Few lots at my theatre were whistling when they at one point thought the male protagonist has come to the rescue. I will give props to the director for saving me that cringefest. 1st half was better, with a bit of over the top bgm. Nothing else was redeeming.

Oh, it is just an average film at its best. And I have no idea why Fahad acted in this movie with such role, probably to help the director and Kunjako Boban who are his friends. But he is really degrading his own value and market. He is the best actor in India at the moment, so he better choose his movies wisely.

Nona, this is getting embarrassing now. You’re hyping up every bang average malayalam film these days.
As a Malayali, Bougainvillea was a snooze fest in the first half and mediocre overall. Are Bollywood films really so bad that any half-decent film from the south impresses you guys this much?
I agree. Fahad's never seen low commonsense cop engagement is such an underwhelming decision.
The flash back is also so cliched, it doesn't suit his contemporary making style which Amal normally does.
Many things feel forced.
Being a badass ruthless person falling so quickly at the end is unconvincing.
Though the performances were great from the cast throughout.
He liked it, he said it. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean that everyone else is like that. You're embarrassing yourself by not understanding it. There are even Malayalis who loved it and had a good time with the positive aspects of it.

If you've followed his channel's uploads in the past, you'll know that even the malayalam films with poor reviews will be termed an masterpiece or "underrated" by him and other northie reviewers. There's a very obvious blind hype that Malayalam films have these days in the north. And it'll ruin the quality of our cinema if even the average stuff get praised.
But if you want to stay biased, that's fine.
