- It has been 120 years since the iconic St. Francis hotel first opened its doors that face San Francisco's Union Square. Loureen Ayyoub went inside to learn more of its storied history.
Thanks KPIX for this report! May I suggest you do one about the ruins of the Sutro Baths and its history?
We stay there anytime we visit San Francisco. It is still a great hotel, beautiful, great location and here to stay!!
Wow!
I WOULD LOVE TO STAY THERE WHEN I VISIT.
Big number.
This wasn't a report on the history of the hotel, it was a quick interview with a former manager who worked his way up since 1972. A report on the hotel's 120 years would show historic photos of the lobby in 1905, and through the years. What did the rooms look like then? What do they look like at least once every decade? Show photos of famous guests through the decades, old scandals (Fatty Arbuckle's wild party where Virginia Rappe died and the publicity destroyed his career.) What did 1906 Earthquake damage do to the hotel? Photos? That would be a good report on the St. Francis's first 120 years.
The Compass Rose for Tea - classic. I hope the new designers don't ruin the lobby design as the last one ruined the character in trying to update it.
SUGGESTION: HISTORUCAL MONUMENT PLAQUE. SI IT CAN NEVER BE DESTROYED.
I’m sure someone somewhere in the world just turned 55.
I LOVE MY SAN FRACISCO FAMILY!!!!
Don’t believe the Hype on line... Everything is fine... watch Dolores park in 4k to see 4 Yourself ...
Wasn't this where Ford was shot at?

Beauty view of homeless and drug overdoses 😂
The business is going down after the pandemic and its surrounding by homeless and drug addicts.I don't think this hotel will survive.
