I went with the LHY board and LHY linear power supply in my N130. I stream to an outboard DAC. Boy what a difference! I thought this was all snake oil, but figured for $279, why not. Worth every penny! Opened everything up, using the Ares II DAC, it was like a veil or wet blanket was lifted, the difference was quite obvious, and for the better.

Thx Hans, a relevant upgrade 4 all Node users that fits from a financial standpoint...overlooked by the majority of reviewers! (Like the guy who swore by a $550 1m digital cable tested on $399-1299 DAC's; just irrelevant I think)

I did an upgrade of this board with the Allo Shanti LPSU on my Node 2i, and it brought about quite a change. More bass definition, slight bump in upper mid bass, and definitely more definition and refinement in the top end. This was the internal DAC. This was as big an upgrade for me as adding my external DAC, which is a SMSL VMV D1SE

Great review. I installed the interface on both a N130 and 2i. In both cases I use the units for streaming into external DACs. The improvement was significant and very noticeable (better separation, blacker backgrounds, improved dynamics) but will obviously vary depending in the transparency of your system. One of the best value for money improvements in my system.

Excellent review Hans. Based on your review I purchased the PD Creative interface board and power supply to upgrade my Node2i. It was delivered quickly, simple to install and after living with it for a few weeks I'm very happy with the improvement. I run my Node2i through a Chord DAC and the improvements to the sound of my system were not insignificant and consistent with your comments. In the past, I used the Node2i to play incidental music from Tidal or my own networked music library (CD quality or higher) while I was doing other stuff around the house. Serious listening to music was through my CD player or turntable. However, I now find myself listening to the Node2i as a primary music source more and more. Thanks again and once more your channel has helped me make a rationale change to my system, for the better!

I have the node n130 and the PD Creative PWR Module with Allo Shanti going to a Denafrips Ares2. And let me say that the Ifi SPDIF Purifier 2 made a HOLY COW Upgrade pretty much across the spectrum (audiophile superlatives here). I found SPDIF to sound better than the newly firmware updated USB on the node. Powered by the seconded Shanti 5v tap and after the 150hr break-in period, this is probably the best 200 I`ve spent on hi-fi in 30 years. Great channel BTW.

Bluesound N 130. Topping D90 SE DAC. After 5 hr listening i can assume, that my sound has changed. First i noticed, the bass is less prominent, seems cleaner. . I had to give the sub a few clicks up to bring it to my pleasure. Second, the highs are a tick softer, lesser edgy. The soundstage is wider. Thats for the short time of listening for now.

Hi Hans, thank you for your informative video(s)! I have a question, what in your opinion would be the best streamer to connect to my 20 y.o. Linn system? The choices I am pondering are: (1) Node X; (2) N130 w/PSU; (3) Linn Sneaky DS 2008 model; or (4) Linn Sekrit DS 2011 model? My heart tells me to go with Linn, but I wonder if those units, due to their age, would not be as good as the BluOS options maybe? Your thoughts and advice are greatly appreciated...

Hans, I'm seriously considering this upgrade for my Node 2i. But I'm thinking of purchasing an Allo Shanti as the LPS as it has two DC outputs; the 2nd being for an external DAC. My concern is that the DC cables are hardwired and of uncertain audio sonic quality. Would it be better to get the PC Creative LPS so as to use separate higher end DC cables? Or would it be worth replacing the Shanti cables by installing chassis mounted sockets and, again, using separate DC cables. I'd appreciate your thoughts. And thank you for such useful and easily understandable videos.
