While in America my friend & I were invited by some people we'd met to go to stop on their reservation that was hosting a pow wow.....it was incredible the music, the costumes, the squaw burgers(that's what they were called lol) but most of all I enjoyed listening to the stories our friends father told, who was 90+ years old, about his boyhood, the tribal history,etc....it was fascinating & a memory I will treasure all my life. Thank you Jon
That is so nice. I would love to hear a story by an elder. I was invited to a Sundance I'm super excited to see another culture's traditions. So beautiful!
Why couldn't this have been on TV rather then half the stuff that is on. Seeing something like this is amazing. A tradition passed down not just picked up. Gifted to the next generation is something I would love to see more of in the world. Thank you for sharing this.
I understand where you're coming from...BUT in my humble opinion.. allowing this Sacred Ceremonial dancing into the discusting world of " TV LAND" ...would cheapen/ Degrade its Beauty @, Sacredness. If folks want to learn about Indigenous customs, etc....they should / could read about it from american indian authors. JUST SAYING. peace
@@duncanjunctionsthemadman7418 Thank You, Duncan, for understanding my opinion. I was very calm @ mellow in replying to your post @ you handled it like a Man...a Gentleman. 😉
One more thing...Duncan. Check out your city or town for Upcoming Pow Wow's. I've been to couple dz.of them, over the last 20 yrs. AMAZING to watch the Grand Entry of the different Tribes attending @ all the different events throughout the day. Seriously...this IS a great time of year, when Pow Wow's are all over the US. Plus ALL the Indigenous Folks who Design @ sell their handmade articles, jewelry, clothes..Etc. They sell Fry Bread @ other traditional Indian foods. Now GO find a Pow Wow..my friend. You can thank me later. 🐺🐶 🎶 100's of beautiful Indian
@@terriejohnston8801 yes you were. You made a very valid point any logical person would be able to see that. Yes I would like to see this more broadcasted but on that same note it is more about respecting tradition. Have a great and safe weekend. And I will do as you suggested.
Its wonderful to see that Dads are still in the lives of their sons. Alot of absent parents now and days Mothers as well as Fathers. MUCH RESPECT TO ALL THE PARENTS FULLFILLING THEIR ROLLS. PRAISE TO OUR CREATOR.!! 💜💚❤
Beautiful and it warms my heart to see these pow wows. My parents took me to many of them as a kid growing up and I've watched it fade as I've got older unfortunately but this was amazing❤
Thank u for keeping the American tradition alive!! It is an honor to see the bond of a father and son dance together... The only wish i could have .. Is to been there to see it... The music is the best... I cried...

National including Mayans, Aztecs and all the other Americans pueblos, from Argentina to Alaska you would be reborn. The day you make peace among your people you would became one. It doesn't mean to loose ones identity just to accept and respect the identity of others. Beautiful
Set' ma yehe:de (Hello how are you) From the Pomo side. Eastern. It's hard to believe we've recorded a ceremony. I suppose since it's a pow wow. Because I know for me. Some of the dances are meant to be sacred and to heal. Still a wonderful pow wow. May creator watch over us and stay in our prayers. Ooh:
It would be wonderful if it be translated to understsnd what they are singing . the drumers to my ears sounds like coyotes hauling , no intent to offend any of the brothers . I which any educated native american would explain what the drumers saying and singing . many blessings and keep their tradion alive .

A beautiful dance between nations. Traditions handed down from father to son isn't lost. The Indian Nation will survive and return.
stop it! those are mongol/Asians
@Daniel Embree you are an idiot.
@@AMERICAFIRST. you are a racist idiot.
Dancing for money is tradition? 🤔 Never seen old pictures of any tribe wear that much feathers or remotely come close to that 😂

There are several styles represented in this video. It was a special opened with no style limitation other than being a men's dance.
Cont to teach the children their heritage.
