This would be a cool way to make an abstract sunflower 🌻. I also liked that it didn’t connect in the back. It looked like it was actually bursting forth!
When I add gold leaf to anything as a distressed look, I add it basically like you do, then I use my paintbrush to take off most of the loose flakes, then I take my tumbler outside and turn on my husbands large air compressor and let it build up, then I hit my tumbler from different heights and “spray” the tumbler with the highly compressed air which leaves a beautifully distressed look
I used to make tie dyes like this on paper..... brings back some memories
