B205 is a loaded phosphate train. They decided to add on empty ethanol train B620 when B205 went through Baldwin, FL. B620 had been ready to go for a while, but was waiting on a crew. Combining it onto B205 would allow it to leave without a crew. I overheard the radio chatter about the combining of the two trains, and it sounded like Manchester GA would be where they separated and acquired separate crews.
Even stranger, I believe these CN locos had come down to Florida on a potash train the day before. I could be wrong, though.
Got another visible reporting mark on a Family Lines car! This time, “L&N” can barely be read above the CSXT patch. Plus, another Rock Island car!
Canadian National has recently had their fleet of Dash 9-44CWs rebuilt similarly to Norfolk Southern. CN, however, uses A1A trucks, where the axles at the ends have motors while the central axle is unpowered. This was how many 6-axle trucks were early on in diesel history. Most notable were the EMD E-units. Because of the A1A configuration, CN’s DC-to-AC rebuilt Dash-9s are classified as AC44C4Ms, rather than Norfolk Southern’s AC44C6Ms. Recently, CN has sent several of their EMD SD70i and SD75i locomotives onto NS to similarly be given DC-to-AC Conversion rebuilds as SD70ACCs. Several have already been completed.
Locomotives:
-GE AC4400CW CSX 557

-GE ET44AC Canadian National 3219 {100th Anniversary unit} (lead unit for B620, mid train)
-GE AC44C4M (DC-to-AC Conversion rebuilt Dash-9) Canadian National 3302 (trailing unit for B620, mid train)
