I saw you flipping through that book while you were writing and thought, "Noooo! Close it now! You'll get side-tracked!" And then the info came out about the garden not being open when your characters needed to be there. I've run into that a LOT with this ancient Germanic/Roman stuff I'm writing about, i.e. just learned today that the regular Roman population did NOT write Latin, it was usually Greek -- only the upper classes & political types wrote Latin. The only Latin that the regular population wrote was graffiti and curse words. Found a whole list of Latin curse words, but they won't be right for my book, haha! Lots of necessary rewriting/editing will come later on for me.
I feel you on 5k in a day being a huge stretch. Im currently on a writing retreat and between yesterday and today I have managed to knock out 6,000 words so far, 4k yesterday was doable but by the end of the day, my brain forgot what words were! I am excited to follow the journey of your new project and wish you all the best on the one you are currently querying!!
I think the most I ever wrote in one day was about 6.5k and I was so fried I didn't write for a couple days afterwards 😅 So yeah, 10k (or more?!) is wild to me.
@@MeredithPhillipsWrites exactly, I always write like 5k words a day, and the next two days, I'd stare at the blank paper wondering how I wrote THIS MUCH words the other day, and now I’m DEAD
Totally agree. Don't understand 5k word days. I'd be so tired.😅 4K days are rare and happened when they were unplanned. I had to cancel cleaning plans. 😂

I look forward to your vlogs - they are inspirational, but real and funny - thanks so much!

Aww it's so fun fostering! But I was happy to be able to donate what we could. I know every rescue group is always needing more.
I love it

Have fun on the retreat!! 6k is a great word count, but I know what you mean about forgetting what you'd written several thousand words ago 😅
Yay for two 4K days! I used to be able to do 10K a day rarely but I'm old now 😅 and it just doesn't happen. My brain can't do it! 😂

Exactly, when I hear people write 6k, 10k, 15 freaking thousand IN A DAY, I’m like, no. No, no, no.
Like legit, HOW?
