Good stuff, I remember the original release, funny then and funny now, we need more humor in the world then people wouldn't get so uptight and relax a bit.
My version my farts are better than Trevors, my farts are better than Trevors I've waved the bog roll in his face he's a disgrace to the bog roll race my farts are better than Trevors
Ahhhh fab, just singing this to the our kids in the kitchen! Fab to see this vid and the love for it . Yup it wouldn’t be made these days definitely a tad eek but it does feel truly joyful x
Hahaha, yeah, funny line. I've had the same problem, but I wasn't kicked out of my house, my Dad just said I must have thrown a stick. Silly Boomerang..... then again, silly stick!!!
I only came here today because I was sorting out my late uncles old record boxes and found of many this old 45. he was on walkabout in oz for nearly 30 odd years before he CAME back . his family still live there. classic, silly old humour, greatest respect to earths oldest bush people. good bless our friends and allies Aussies and Kiwis. ANZACS forever.
Like most of the other posters, I loved this song then and now. Still sing it to myself every now and then when Im alone in the house. "If you want your boomerang to come back well first -------------You've Got To Throw It." "Oh yah, never thought of that" ! roflmao
In the eighties I found an 8 track tape in a thrift store with this song and other songs called looney tunes. My father still had his 8 track player so I was able to listen to it. I enjoyed all of those songs. They’re silly but fun to sing.
Nice! When I was a kid, I had this song on a cassette tape with a dozen or so other funny songs. You just don't see random compilations like that on CD these days, but I've got a ton of cassette mixes I randomly bought growing up.
bartsimpson83 Thanks glad you liked this...There used to be lots of funny songs that we used to laugh at but that has all gone due to the PC crowd....Sad.
There are still people who do this kind of stuff, just not as many as there used to be. Ever heard of Stephen Lynch? Look up his song Superhero sometime.
Same here! I grew up in the 70s and my aunt had about 3 different albums of funny songs, I don't remember the names except think one was Wacky Westerns. They had songs ranging from this to others like= "Does your bubblegum loose its flavor overnight" "May the bird of paradise fly up your nose" "Gutiarzan" "I told the Witch Doctor I was in love with you" "Monster Mash" "Beep Beep" "Along came Jones" and many more I can't think of at the moment
Hi R & B. A sure-fire winner!! Beautifully done, as always! Congrats on another great Aussie video to entrench our unique culture around the world. More please!!!
Nice to hear the full length British version of this hit. The U.S. version was edited to only 2 min 39 sec's. Charlie died in 2006. Although he was only 5 feet 1 inch tall he was a big talent. In early 1962, the shorter U.S. version became a #21 Pop chart hit in America.
I will let you know at a later date. PROMISE!! Please see my banners from YT and G+ these are my work (photography). Do you like them? I was out all day today shooting pictures. :))
Only superficially is this merry little tune about a piece of curved stick; it's REALLY a tribute to male impotence, a problem as common as dirt the whole world over, even OZ. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Aussies & their absolutely unique sense of humour; they ar the Undisputed Chumps...I mean CHAMPS! Thankfully I personally have NEVER EVER experienced this 'problem' and have only anecdotal expertise in this area.............no matter WHAT she told you...you know women, always EXAGGERATING..............ALWAYS LYING!
I worked with Charlie on'" The Worker'"' He was a nice guy, I think he would be mortified to know his song had been banned just because a Tasmanian took a dark view of it! I hope Charlie goes and haunts him.
... sounds like the boys to entertain you and it aint half hot mum ... you are going to need a machine gun for the kangaroos ... and the quokkas and cannibals ...
Good stuff, I remember the original release, funny then and funny now, we need more humor in the world then people wouldn't get so uptight and relax a bit.
When I was younger I loved this animated version so much it was unbelivable
OMG SAAAME especially when I was like 4 or 5

Love it
Kind of silly to banish a guy from a tribe just because his boomerang won't come back....
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
I have never seen the animated version before. A very funny but to some a politically incorrect song. There should be more of them.
I worked with Charlie on'" The Worker'"' He was a nice guy, I think he would be mortified to know his song had been banned just because a Tasmanian took a dark view of it! I hope Charlie goes and haunts him.
A great entertainer, sad how the PC crowd have managed to kill humor...Thanks for comment

Apparently they *hated* this song in Australia when it first came out.
No, according to Wikipedia, "musicologist David Kent has calculated it reached #1 there in December 1962".
