    I just that he was paid $676,000 for a one year contract to make 12 movies. That would be close to $20 million today. That’s a lot of money but he wrote, produced, directed, and starred in 12 movies for that money. That would pale in comparison to big stars today bc they can make much more than $20 million for one movie. Chaplin was the biggest celebrity in the world at the time.

    Record contract? Don't you mean film contract with Mutual? I know Charlie did do recordings, but you're giving conflicting information in your title and your description.

      You are right. Its kind of misleading.
      I did not choose the title, but I think the term "Record" refers to the highest paid filmmaker.
