    I went "push up crazy" in my late teens busting out about 500 to 800 pushups a day for probably a six month period. Then didn't do any pushups for years or touch a barbell at all. Then at 27 1st day at the gym I hit 205 for a double at body weight 150 purely on muscle memory. You can absolutely build a bench with pushups I did high rep, high volume and good form it worked for me

      Yep. After 20 years of poverty bench, i started doing weighed pushup because of covid. My bench is increasing more than ever.

      🎯 I was 135 benching 250. I did 500 mon-Friday and 1000 on Saturdays.

      Pushups will only take you so far, then you need low reps.

    No idea what else to say as you guys are the best! Due to the fact I´m sick and weak and watched almost every push up tutorial because I can´t do any other movements, this is by far the best tutorial. thank you very much elitefts and thank you very much Sam. Please a lot more of these exercise tutorial videos. I really appreciate this

    I started pushup because of covid. My bench sucks. I discovered pushup are the only assistance that actually help my bench press, pushup engage my triceps for real.

    Goddam yeah, finally a nice pushup tutorial, also they work a very nice finisher especially deficit pushups , youll have to fight not to push your upper body though first, as i was cueing my brother " in this sticking point adaptation happens".Great job man

    Good vid. Could you do one on doing a serratus extension from the top of the push-up? I'm finding the serratus push up and the cable serratus punch-out are strengthening my horizontal push, but I don't see them coached very much.

      I would like to see that in a video too, training the serratus is very underrated, it makes you stronger and more resilient to injury, a true win-win

    It seems I may have to pull these back out. I've done so many of these during the Muay Thai years, I developed a phobia of them, they also helped with punch power too. I'll add the band trick, my brace sucks, especially the sides. Thanks Sam
